Pogba out for 4 to 6 weeks | No Megathreads

Why would the fact that he's sprinting mean that he's weeks away from a return?

You mean why weeks and not days? Or why weeks and not months?

What I meant is: if he can sprint now, it shouldn't be many weeks before he returns. Unless this story about the running style is true.

Jose obviously does know when Pogba will be back, it's interesting that he does not want to say publicly when he will be back in the side. Why do you think that is? The press will stop asking him if he puts a date on it.

Pogba is a big miss, for me he is our key player, I don't think he will be back soon, from the video he posted on his instagram it would appear he is still doing low impact cardio exercise, when we see him doing stuff with a ball or training with the team again we know he will be close so no point getting excited by him coning back till then really.

I'd say he's much more important to us offensively than defensively...

I agree that's as important. But breaking up play high up the pitch is very important for offence and pressing. Without him or Fellaini we sit back more.

Him doing things with a ball isn't really relevant I don't think. He has a hamstring injury, if he can sprint then that is far more important than him showing a vid of him dribbling. I'm guessing him at full sprint is far less risky than him kicking a ball.

From a commercial point of view, people will look for updates from Pogba himself via social media

Aye not to mention that Rashford probably told him to keep his mouth shut and not actually tell Mourinho and the fans when he’s going to be back.

So frustrating this injury.
The world and his wife were falling over themselves to wheel out the "he looks so much better with Matic there" line, and for a month it looked true.

The parts about how his "running style" has caused the issue seem strange, for a guy who has played a lot of games over the last few years without too many problems.
Roll on his return. We all know deep down he is very key to us being a force in the big games, rather than just scuffling it out for a point.

You mean the full sprint is MORE risky?
But if so, agreed, full out running is the most important level to get to. We can all wait a bit longer if it means that once he's back he is properly 100% back

Dont try to fill in my argument for that please.

It really isnt the stats, because statistically he actually is very good.

But bullying Crystal Palace and Swansea etc doesnt make you a world class player imo, it's the matches vs elite for United, France that make me not rank him there yet.

Ability wise he is one of the best or the best mifielder around. But he plays so immature, slowing down play at crucial moments (albeit speeding us up a lot too), missing the right concentration and intensity in his game. Once he matures he can become the best midfielder there is.
I will always second this. Kroos was one of the best players in the entire world cup, but to Pogba's superfans, its no competition and Paul will turf him out because of his performances in the type of games you mentioned. Pogba is far off prime Yaya even.
Not really. I might have replied to you but I'm also addressing other points made in this thread. As to your issues with maturity, it's the manner in which European midfielders approach the game. They don't rush it like English mids and prefer to be more calculating. Matic does that, probably why he and Pogba have such a great understanding. I personally don't have any problem with his intensity. I think "intensity: is overrated. The best midfielders such as Scholes, Zidane, Pirlo, Xavi, Busquests were/are never intense. Infact everytime Scholes tried to be more intense he would always mistime his tackles. I only need intensity from my wingers and forwards, but need my mids to be calculating and read the game well.
Not quite. Patience is fine when it is combined with immaculate decision making.

Fellaini is also recovering in Belgium. Is Jose the grinch pissed with him too?
Belgium us Fellaini's homeland. Hardly a vacation spot like Miami. Also, he didn't comment about Fellaini so he might be comfortable with the situation? Maybe.

By far our best outfield player and by far our most underrated player.

We can live with either him or Fellaini out but not both. We need at least one of them to partner Matic since Herrera somehow lost his desire and ability to play football over the summer.

Need to get someone like Goretzka in as soon as possible to add some depth to midfield.

Paul Pogba, come back and play. This is the kind of game where he thinks to himself, "what the hell have I done coming back to Manchester and England". Pitiful performance, Lingard in the line-up, heavy rain... as far from Real Madrid and Barcelona you can possibly come to be honest.

Get your ass back from the US. Can work your freaking running technique later. We have no midfield

He should play the Spurs game no matter what, otherwise our league season will be fecked coming November.

There is little point in rushing him and risking another injury. If he isn't completely ready he can't be very useful either.

I believe we will see him against Spurs, Jose won't wait any longer after today's showing imo.

Lol. He is not coming back because we are playing shit and have Spurs and Chelsea coming up. This isn’t the CL final that One will even consider such. He will be back when he is declared fit. Jose can’t force anyone and would be stupid to do so and I am certain he won’t.

What’s annoying is all this cryptic signals as an excuse for mind games etc. it’s already been 6 weeks, really can’t see the point of keeping things in dark like it’s benefiting anyone. And if we actually still don’t know, we’ll that’s even more remarkable.

He may well be back for Spurs, but it won't be because today was shit and Jose needs to take some sort of action. It will be because he has been declared fit. This belief that he'll be forced to return from injury early because we lost a game is weird.

I'd be very surprised if he's back for Spurs. He isn't training with the team yet, is he? Is he even in Manchester?

We should get Bailly and Pogba ready for the Tottenham game, else i see another loss sadly.

He won't play vs Spurs. You can't start him in a game of this magnitude after being over a month out with injury. He has to be eased back in. If he isn't available for Swansea no way he plays on Saturday.

He's picked up at least 4 or 5 MOTM since he's been out sadly, yesterday being the latest.
