Would you accept Dybala and Sandro for Pogba?

I think it's on your roof. Or at least now that Raiola has spoken ,you do not have that much advantage.
There is a month left to close your market and you have a player whose agent has said openly that he does not want to play for you. "Toxic" according to several opinions in this thread, while you keep asking for "Neymaresque" amounts.
For us it is a problem because he is a request of the coach but we have Eriksen and Van de Beek waiting for a call

Ultimately, Pogba is more desperate to leave than we are to sell him, which means everything else you’re talking about is just noise, really.

Herrera was voted Busby player of the season - Pogba never was. He never deserved to be. Last season, Herrera didn't play as much, but we played much better as a team when he did play. And Herrera was never a world class player.

And Shaw won it this season, despite being okay to decent at best. Forgive me if I don't take the fan award seriously. It's also convenient, that you ignore the second season, when Pogba was quite clearly better. Herrera started 16 games last season compared to Pogba's 34 in the league. Claiming he had a better season, despite playing significantly less is just ridiculous. Criticise Pogba, he deserves it. If you are sick of him and want him out, I understand that, too. But the way some are downplaying his performances is a bit over the top. For what it's worth, if we are actually able to replace him this summer, then it's best for all involved to part ways.

We cant keep any player who doesnt want to be here let alone this t*at who is only half arsed at the best of times. I will never forget his performance away to Southampton this season. He was a disgrace.

Anyone else think this is good news?

I think we should all be delighted that Paul le Virus is wanting out.

The sooner he goes the better and his ego is better served at clubs elsewhere.

He's been bad for our club from day one.

Let's all rejoice! Paul le Virus is being removed from our club.

There is nothing positive about this, it just screams volumes about where we are as a club right now.

Pogba leaves and goes and wins things, and maybe reaching his potential, whilst we are left with an even weaker team, but a sack full of money, who's the winner here?

I think from a United perspective, keeping toxic Pogba is still less bad than losing him at a cut-price in a summer with no CL football and with an unproven manager. The club will struggle to replace him.
Once Madrid give up on Pogba, they will sign Eriksen and/or Van de Beek, so there will be a good chance then that Pogba will sign a new contract with United.

And €170-180m for Pogba in a summer when Atletico had to pay 126m for some unproven Portuguese teenager, seems to be a reasonable deal for Madrid.
I may be wrong but 170/180 seems impossible. I think that they can raise the offer to 145 / 150m € but no more.
We will see what United does in the market, maybe give us some clue. I think you can get Saúl below the clause

We can, especially if nobody wants to buy him for a fair price. Pogba may just find he’s not as wanted as he’d like to believe.

I don't think it will be 150m at the end. I expect United will accept 110-130m including add-ons if we manage to get a replacement lined up.

72m Euro and Bale that was tweeted is not an offer. That is essentially a 18 million euro bid for Pogba. Bale is owed 54 million in wages for the next three years and anyone taking him on would have to pick that up and we don't want him now and he doesn't want to come.

Pogba is a very marketable player as well. You pay 100m for Hazard going to 130m with a year left, you can do similar for Paul Pogba.

Whatever happens with this transfer we had better not disgrace ourselves and make sure we collect every single dollar from Madrid. If they think they are about to get him on the low they Better wake up.

Already reading they want to give us 75 euros plus that crock or Isco. I’d take 100 and Isco. Bale should stay were he is. Really don’t want to help them improve their wage structure.

Hopefully if Pogba leaves, which may or may noy happen, we get a massive fee which will enable us to buy several players, which in turn may help us improve the team.

Manchester United are much better off without Paul le Virus.

What exactly that he has done for our club apart from showing lack of effort, determination and the world class ability a supposed £89m player should bring to the table?

Players with half his ability have become legends at this club.

I'll happily drive him out of our club and have him and his seamy agent inject le Virus to another club that will need to accommodate that ego.

Going to be a glorious day when he leaves the club.

I for one will be delighted.

In answer to your question, Man Utd will be the ultimate winner when he leaves.

Can do what he wants, 3 years left on contract. Pay up or give us Varane, plus casemero and £60m.

Totally agree with part in bold. Think that is a fecking insult if true. Would stay well clear of Bale due too age, injures and wages you mentioned.

Why the feck would we be giving him a new contract with 3 years left on the current one and him failing to perform enough to justify his current wages?

Would be very happy if this was to happen even without the £60m but cant see it as I read Real want Varane's full release clause which is ludicrous at £429m, which suggests they don't want him to go but strange things happen in football. I think it depends how much Real want Pogba.

I agree he's been disappointing, but the guy is a world class player, that's why we have Madrid and Juve falling over themselves to get him.

To coin a phrase, it's us, not him, he is clearly not a player that can function consistently in a poor team, and he knows it, so in absence of any sign that we are going to turn a corner, he wants out, and I honestly don't blame him.

People are excited that we could lose Pogba, Lukaku, and DDG, Martial would have been thrown out of the door with glee by many as well if he hadn't signed his deal, but these are top players, and the fact they look so poor for us means we are broken, not them.

Pogba will be dynamite for Madrid, and will love it there, whilst we just wallow the sh*t a while longer.

Hopefully if Pogba leaves, which may or may noy happen, we get a massive fee which will enable us to buy several players, which in turn may help us improve the team.

But it won't, we spend weeks trying to sign players, and have openly admitted we work on one deal at a time, so we'll be lucky to get one or two more through the door now, players in return are our best hope, as the works already been done for us.

Betcha they don't even have the 80. Not in one installment at least. Pay those to people in Madrid to fill your stadium instead cnut. Or double it and get it done with.

And why would Varane want to come here?
Only reason I could think of would be that he would like the challenge of making us great again and him going down in history as one of the players who contributed a lot in doing so. Although that is a long shot and more wishful thinking on my part.

Would be hard to see him switching from a club like Real where he will consistently be challenging for major honours to us when we have no Champions League football and in the middle of a massive rebuild, which is going to take time.

New players in return usually means players that don’t want to be here. Di Maria e.g.

It's going to get ugly isn't it?

I think he'll travel eventually. He'll be an idiot not to, as if the transfer didn't complete and we persisted with Madrid refusing to pay, he'll be pretty much fecked if he stays in terms of relationship with the club and the fans. He'll travel.

We aren't capable, Longstaff and Fernandes at best, mostly because no one else wants them, but it'll still take weeks.

No resentment towards him, but I want Pogba to go, he'll be no good for us, but would rather he goes to Juve, even if it's for less, I hate Madrid.

People who think we are doomed if we sell Pogba, have some respect for the club and for what ‘Manchester United’ represents. Better and worthier players have left United and we have still managed to be successful. Manchester United will always attract talented players and sooner or later we will get back to the top again. Fawning over a player who has not given his all and hasn't really been great in a United shirt is downright disgraceful.

Surely real Madrid can offer some really good player? That's not isco or bale. Not something ridiculous like Varane but some youngster.

You have a valid point. This something which has concerned me. I would have preferred to sell him earlier in the window even if it meant accepting a bit less than we have been holding out for to get the funds in sooner to recruit required players earlier. I agree with you that at the moment our best hope is to take players in exchange which I would gladly accept, as I am not confident Woody would fully invest the money in the squad.

My only worry ,if Pogba were to leave, isn't the fact we'll be buggered without him. Its more a sense that we'll accept a really cr*ppy offer to get him out largely due to Pogba and Raiola causing a public stink up.

I'll wager that if that is their strategy, Pogba won't explicitly go on strike, but he will find a way to express his displeasure, for example by suddenly developing a back injury.
