Is he? Or are we now suffering the consequences of the toxic dynamic he created? And the lack of CL football his mismanagement left us with.
no, this group of players had CL football in their grasp and pissed it away several times over towards the end of the season, that's why fans are livid with a lot of these players. The big bad Jose was removed and everyone was flying. As soon as Zidane became Real Madrid manager this guy went into pipe and slippers mode again

It'll be interesting to see what happens.

I've been in the get rid side for a while to be honest.
He's never lived up to the expectations. Very inconsistent, and at times, it just felt all about him in his play, and if we recruit correctly, we'd be better off without him.

But, if we do sell him, I wonder what the club does. Our midfield is in tatters as it is. If Pogba leaves, thats 3 midfielders gone without a replacement (Pogba, Herrera and Fellaini). We really need to move on from Matic and Fred has to have a good year, or he's gone as well.

If Pogba leaves and we replace like for like, with Fernandes, then it's an absolute farce, considering Bruno will cost half if not a third of what Pogba leaves for, but with that sort of money, we could easily rebuild our midfield and be better off for it.
Ndidi, Rice, Doucoure, Neves, Winks, Longstaff all from the Prem, or look into Europe and theirs, Danilo Pereira, Partey, SM-Savic, Kondogbia, Van De Beek, Benassi, Pellegrini, Lo Celso, Fekir, B. Fernandes, Olmo.

Plenty of people to choose from, all who I'd consider realistic. Ndombele would have been a good name to throw in the hat but since moved. Saul, Koke, Veratti, Bentacur etc are names but probably not as attainable.

If Pogba does leave, lets see how ambitious this club really is

No, you can't. Some people can, but you can't.

As demonstrated by the fact that you want the club to do badly to prove your point about your precious Paul.
I’m not going to argue over semantics.

I will find it funny when we’re just as bad/worse, is NOT wanting the club to lose.

We’re on an internet forum & you’re telling me what I can & cant do; looks like us being crap with or without Pogba isn’t the only laughable thing of 2019.

This isn’t a debate/conversation so it must be as boring for you as it is for me - god bless.

My precious Paul? Just wow.

I’ve been a ‘reader’ of this forum for years.

I’d suggest ‘we’ [loosely termed as I received a ‘Quality Control’ warning for having a differing opinion] take a revisionist look at the way club legends like Wayne Rooney are spoken about on here before we start with the moral high ground on people believing Pogba can be acting unprofessionally [which he is] whilst also thinking fans that want him out the club before the likes of Matic are the ones with a Quality Control issue.

What's the point here I don't get it ? If Rooney was getting slaughtered for handling transfer requests or for his crap performance at the end despite what he did previously for us, it's more logical to expect more slaughtering for a player who did absolutely nothing for the club and is disrespecting it by the way he's trying to force a move via going full public.

Fans want him out, you don't get, the guy is the one who wants out at all costs. When he saw the club isn't going to accept a minimal fee he said in public he wants out, then his agent came with similar quotes too.

He doesn't even care much about leaving on good terms. It's like he left us the first time all over again.

If he wants out that much he can bring a good offer and feck off. He could have handled it in a better and more respectful way for the club everyone convinced us he loves and cares about so much but he's choosing to go full public to force us to accept any price and let him go. Disrespectful to say the least.

I just dont understand why clubs insist on keeping players that dont want to stay. The player will never give 100% if his mind is somewhere else. I want all my squad to give 100% to have a chance of winning something.

How is that even remotely a win-win situation? Paul is our only world class player, the only player worthy of Manchester United shirt (DDG had an embarrassing season, possibly in permanent decline). Sure, lets get rid of the only player capabale of any creativity, lets sell the guy who also is our top scorer despite playing CM position! Utter nonsense. Just look at the state of our transfer window, we're not able to attract any elite players and forced to ridiculously overpay for the rest. Over 50m for a defensive fullback who had a decent season with Crystal Palace, and possibly 80m for Harry f*cking Maguire - and yet you want to sell Paul Pogba, the best midfielder in the world, hoping we'll somehow manage to replace him. Don't be ridiculous.
We get £150m+ to spend on replacing him. Which we will get because he has three years on his contract. We hold all the aces here. That £150m will be used to purchase two midfielders, who while not as individually talented, will cover the absence of a man who's impact has been more miss than hit for three years. Unfair? I can give you 89 million reasons why it isn't.

You're making him out to be Ronaldo when he's actually predominantly been just a run of the mill midfielder with a highlights reel. He needs to do more. Much, much more. You might argue that it's unfair, but he was bought to be the main man for us, and he simply hasn't been it, except for Ole's first two months.

Robson was a similarly talented midfielder, who played for Utd when they legitimately were an average team who barely ever made Europe, yet look at what he did for us. Gerrard to a lesser extent also. That's the level that Pogba should be aspiring to. He has not got anywhere near that, let alone your preposterous suggestion that he's the best midfielder in world football.

If Real want him the price should be £300m, they owe us one for Beckham and Ronaldo!

150m seems fair enough, with a slight advantage to us (I honestly don't think he's worth THAT much)

A shame that he leaves United again on bad terms and that's twice he's left the club when we've wanted to keep him. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets booed if he ever returns to OT with a rival team. It's mostly been a negative experience all round.

I get the toxic nature of his attitude, I get that in the long run we’re going to be better off (potentially), but how on Earth are we replacing this?
a>
This is exactly what separates the two philosophies of the clubs/managers, and hence their success/lack of.

All the contributions to goals and attack in general are spread out so well in City and we put the entire creativity in the hands of one player. No wonder our club is not as successful.

You look at teams like City and Liverpool, they have a system which works (of course it would need good players) and the sum is greater than the parts.

What we have going for us is the exact opposite, where we rely on one player so much and our results vary with the player’s form.

The only players who deserve that are Messi and Ronaldo, because they are extremely consistent as well.

Is he? Or are we now suffering the consequences of the toxic dynamic he created? And the lack of CL football his mismanagement left us with.
Yeah, this doesn't absolve José of his poor management.
I was a Staunch pogba supporter amidst all the Jose fall out and was sure he would stay so we could build around him...however he has showed his true colours now with this recent statement through his fat prick of an agent.

This mercenary went away on international duty had his head turned and downed tools for the rest of the season. He has disrespected the club, disrespected the fans..and cannot be defended ANYMORE.

He must be sold take his circus, and mercenary agent with him. Good riddance but rinse the buying club royally.
I'm willing to admit I was wrong, too.

Still, unless we get a great offer, I'm not against keeping him another year. Not because I'm a "fanboy" or anything, but because I just can't see us improving from selling at this moment. If we kept him, finished in top 4 next season with Ole improving the teams general style of football, then we'd be in a much better position to sell.

I just dont understand why clubs insist on keeping players that dont want to stay. The player will never give 100% if his mind is somewhere else. I want all my squad to give 100% to have a chance of winning something.

True, but we are not going to give him away. I don’t see anybody with the readies to pay what he’s worth to us. We need cash, not part exchange cast offs.

Would be inclined to leave him in Manchester for the Tour but sponsors will demand his appearance no doubt.
RM's opening bid of Isco plus cash is along the right lines and hopefully something we can fine tune to a conclusion.

No surprises Riola and Pogba combo playing up. Lots of people predicted the inevitable. Good riddance on clubs terms.

I can understand a fine football player like him at the age of 26 does not want to involve in a team rebuilding project anymore, and want to join a club that can compete for titles in both the domestic league and CL.

If you're really that keen to leave, put through a formal transfer request and take the pay cut. I hope we sell him, no point keeping a player who doesn't want to stay. I also hope we spend that money well, or at all. We could improve our midfield tenfold by being smart about this.

For the right price, which would be north of 150 million pounds, let him go. Otherwise feck him and his agent, make a lesson out of him. Unlike the other transfers, we have the upper hand here.

Please never ever deal with that cnut of an agent again. Absolute vermin.

Just get rid of this primadonna that picks the games when he´s botherd to give an effort. Plenty of footballers out there and do this quickly.

Tbf, I don't care whether or not he takes the pay cut there or puts in the transfer request which will only save us the loyalty money.

He's worth 150mil+ in today's market. Raiola and Pogba need to get Madrid to pay up or shut the feck up. We're not running a charity.

This.

Hasn't been worth £89M. To think it cost us about £1.5M for Robson in 81, and he didn't want to go to Juve in 84 when they were offering much more.
The modern game is full of mercenaries.

Take what United says in public with a pot full of salt. It's all PR. They'll be trying their best to achieve the best case scenario for the club. United are in a situation where they can dictate terms with 3 years remaining on his contract.

We likely wont have time to, which in a way is likely what the board would be happy with. Raiolas quotes reveal the club knew this would be happening, and havnt prepared for it

We should buy 2 midfielders regardless of his situation anyway though, since we lost both Fellaini and Herrera, but it's United.

Pogbas a wasteman, no stomach for competition, feck him off ASAP
It might hurt short term but we won't build anything sustainable with him.

I can see why he wants out. It's clear he's not a leader, he's not a player who will make others around him better. Pogba is a luxury player, if he's in a great team like France or Juventus he looks fantastic, but he's not the man to be the centrepiece of a rebuild.

Right man at the wrong time, he would have fitted beautifully in our 2006-2009 side.

I could see him going to PSG, Barca or back to Juve. Surely Real will breach FFP if they go for him?

Would be inclined to leave him in Manchester for the Tour but sponsors will demand his appearance no doubt.
RM's opening bid of Isco plus cash is along the right lines and hopefully something we can fine tune to a conclusion.

Don’t see the point in the Isco part unless he absolutely wants to come here. If there’s any incline he’s not up for it then it’s pointless.

A billion pounds out of the club and mismanagement from non-football people running the club has come home to roost.

We’re both not getting each others point then obviously.

I’m drawing equivocation between the way people will praise & criticise but move the posts depending on what side they’re on.

I think Pogba needs to go. I think he has been unprofessional. I think we’re better off clear of Raiola.

I also think. . .

The recruitment since he cane has been sub-par. The choice of manager for the majority of his time here has been poor. The atmosphere amongst our ‘support’ is at a low & he’s been singled out where others have been as bad/worse.

We expect loyalty from Pogba yet because we’re loyal to the club we shouldn’t consider the player?

Look at the way Herrera was championed for his 6/7 out of 10 performances throughout his career here & then look at Pogba - both underwhelming but one will actually recoup their transfer fee but let’s hail Herrera cause he kicked people a lot & showed he cared.

No player in this current squad appears to me as more loyal than us fans but even amongst ourselves if someone thinks differently, see this thread.

I think they have been trying to buy a couple of players for Pogba's position. It's difficult to buy unless it is certain the club can shift certain players first.

These have been criticized and slaughtered to death here ?

I also don't expect Pogba to be loyal at all. He's fine to leave if he wants to, as much as any player. I only expect him to be professional and respectful toward the club, something which he didn't by deciding to go public about the subject. That's all.

Exactly. Issue is not whether he goes or not but for how much. I don’t want a fecking over the hill Gareth Bale and low ball offer from Juve.

By all means — off you feck, but make sure the prospective buyer is ready to do serious business.

true that's even more damning. consider it was an easy summer window with no world cup/euros, and they've decided to snooze through it

Well that doesn't make sense. Last summer we added Fred, Pereira and McTominay into the first team squad without anyone leaving.

Numbers is not the problem. Quality is.

Bruno it seems has been on hold all summer, why not just seal it? Leaks saying the club is only focusing on one transfer at a time while complicating a straightforward transfer with Crystal palace, doesn't add up. Is like they are timing themselves out of deals to avoid spending

Scott was around since second half of previous season not last summer, beside, him and Periera were squad options who don't play that much while Fellaini and Herrera were regularly starting or playing.

Both numbers and quality are important. You can't have only 3 quality players without any bench options because these players will get injured at time and you'll left fecked up without options to replace them.

We lost 2 regular midfielders who were important for us so it's logical to replace them. We can't go into next season expecting Scott and Periera to miraculously step up.

Exactly, is that simple. Some fans are really not been realistic here. With or without him the chances of us making top four next season are slim. We have a coach that has not been proven at all at this level and to make things worst, our best player last season, Pogba, face such an abuse from some fans, calling him toxic etc. He is a champion league player, and that is a fact. Utd under this current management are not going anywhere, so I don't blame him for wanting out and am afraid we are delaying the inevitable pain of next season, even to buy a world class player under this current coach will be difficult and if manage to obtain such players, can he utilise them well and get us top 4 ? I really don't know how ..

I can't understand everyone on here saying ' Let's get € 150 million ' etc, etc and move on.

If the boot was on the other foot, and he was saying he wanted to come to OT but we'd seen the same shit he's served up for us being served up for Madrid, do you really think € 150 million would be a decent price ??

Of course not !

And Madrid and Juve know this + they know he wants away from us.

Shit displays for the past three years + he's basically on strike here, we'll be lucky to get our money back.
