Pogba available for €100M to interested parties

For £40m+ you're talking Rabiot, not Verratti. He would be quite a bit more expensive than the quoted prices for Pogba if he was ever for sale.
£40m+ means more than forty million pounds. Do you mean to say Verratti will be less than this? The last part of your post suggests otherwise. And as for costing more than Pogba, again, I highly doubt that. We'll see when the time comes.

I mean more. And it's quite obvious that a €100m offer for Verratti will only get you a polite invitation from Nasser not to continue bidding, and less polite if you actively try to unsettle the player.

I reckon it will be impossible to compare because only Juventus may consider a sale.

Because Carricks legs are gone and he won´t get any better next year. Additionally both Pogba and Herrera are offensive #8s and don´t support the 3rd midfielder enough to make it work. Pogba and Herrera also don´t really complement each other well. Last but not least, we have Schneiderlin, who is a very good player and we should make good use of him.
Why not replace Carrick with Schniederlin then?

Is Carrick - Ander - Pogba really more likely to get exposed than Fernandinho - Yaya or the Chelsea & Arsenal midfield?

Fernandinho and Yaya are frequently exposed, so I wouldn´t aspire that standard. Arsenal without coquelin are lost and bottling their best title chance for a very long time.
If we already spend crazy money, we should be at least smart enough to buy players that complement each other.

Ill be very surprised if City do much signing this summer. Let alone go for him. People seem to be forgetting by far the best squad in the EPL that has grossly under performed for two seasons now under Pellegrini

It's also aging with half the squad 29 or older.

Di Marzio - Pogba on Guardiola: "He develops every player and an opportunity to work with him could develop"

"His move to Manchester City has already upset the plans of international football next season, the arrival of Pep Guardiola as coach of Citizens is now on everyone's lips. He also spoke about Juventus midfielder David Pizarro in an interview with Sky Sports. The two, however, will find themselves in the challenge of Champions on Tuesday. Here are the words of the ' diez ' black and white: "Has great experience and a great philosophy of play. He's a coach who has influence on the team, all players respect him. You can only admire and try to learn something from him. Is an icon of football, I heard that it will improve every player he works with. Working with him? Now I'm a Juventus player, but clearly the opportunity to work with him in the future could develop. "

Imagine the meltdown if both Pogba and Gundogan went to City.

Pep only has short stints at clubs so it doesnt have to mean City. Juve are playing a Pep led Bayern next week. Its probably in a puff piece mutual respect article nonsene for the big match buildup.
People read too much into these things.

I think you're only saying that because he's ex United.

Pogba is only rivalled by Verratti and Kovačić in the U23 department.
No, honestly, I think he's a very good player, just not in the same league as Verratti. Can't attest to Kovacic, who by all accounts is hugely promising.

I actually haven't heard much about him since last season.. how has be been this season?

to me, pogba is a yaya touré type of player. gundogan is an iniesta type of player. i know what i like better, but i guess it's a matter of taste.
Would you prefer Gundogan over Verrati?

With the state of football in general these days, nothing would surprise me. Player power, agent power, all these shenanigans just make the sport diluted. There is no real rivalry anymore, no real competition, no real commitment, no real loyalty. Lewandowski to Bayern, Tevez to City, maybe Pogba to City. Players don't care about the clubs and the fans, the clubs don't care about anyone, the fans are the only idiots who still show real passion. For 95% of everyone else involved in the sport, it is just business. Nothing more, nothing less.

close call, there is very little between them. either one would be a dream signing. both have an immense passing game and are very hard to separate from the ball. verrati reminds me of philip lahm a little, such a cool player.

What's the difference to earlier decades? I personally think some of these rivalries are actually weird media creations and didn't really exist to the same extent in previous decades. I mean, Denis Law played for City before going to Torino and a year later moving to United, then eventually returned to City. What's the big difference to Pogba's potential move to City today? Dortmund for example doesn't have a real rivalry with Bayern and one of Dortmund's biggest legends is actually a legend for both Schalke and Dortmund despite their fierce rivalry. Reinhard Libuda played 5 years for Schalke, moved to Dortmund for 3 years and scored the goal against Liverpool in the cup winner's cup final win in the late 60's before going back to Schalke, his true love.

Pirlo played for Inter, Milan and Juve, is he just a mercenary who didn't care for his clubs or fans? I think people create some weird standards for modern players that never existed before, but still defend these standards with the 'football was better in the good old days' argument. I don't buy it.

Great player, but I wouldn't want him back at United. He left for nothing after throwing his toys out of his pram and people would be happy to pay 100 million Euros for him.

Fantastic post.
