People still pre ordering?
Will be well worth it (rip drooling smiley)£55 for a platformer
I don't see why being a platformer matters. If this game provides the same level of quality as Astro's Playroom over a 10-15 hour runtime, it's well worth such a price tag. People pay more for less/lower quality in other genres.
Meh, if you think it's overpriced, wait til it comes down in price then. I didn't want to pay €75 for Spider-Man 2 so I waited six months until it was down to €50.
Nintendo games aren't really a great comparison because they stay the same price regardless of whether you buy them at launch or after 3 years.
Sure, but I still think "platformer" is a pretty arbitrary distinction. Something like Callisto Protocol for example launched at €69.99 on consoles, and that was considered normal. That's a +-10 hour game. The only reason I say it's overpriced is because you can get an absolute top-tier platformer like Mario Wonder for £40 at launch. It's not a like-for-like comparison though considering the difference in graphical fidelity.

It's not like there's less intrinsic value in platformers.
£55 for a platformer
Most of them inevitably get added to PS+ or GP at some point though. Wasn't £30 always a pretty good price for a game, by the way?You know I'm not buying it myself because I don't own a PS5 but that also makes it easy for me to moan from the comfort of my keyboard. I honestly wouldn't blame anybody for buying it for £60 because it does look really fun.
Your second point is a bit of neither here nor there for me. Nintendo games might always remain around the same level as they are at launch (maybe 5-10 quid cheaper occasionally) but PS5/Xbox games are rarely if ever cheaper, even when they're on sale. It's the new normal now for a game at £30 to look like an absolute bargain even when it's been out for 3/4/5 years (using Ratchet and Clank as a specific example because it's £30 on Amazon right now).
Anyway I won't bore everyone further because I feel like my fecking dad right now talking about the good old days when you could go to HMV and pick up Fallout 3 for £18 in the Christmas sale (good Christmas that was).
fixed

Just looking on amazon and Super Mario Odyssey (7 years old) is more expensive than GoW: Ragnorak, Ratchet and Clank, Elden Ring, GT7 etc. etc.
Probably. I don't even know what my point was anymore
don't encourage him.Regardless of the ensuing confusion, your point that gaming was much better with a used game market holds true.
I was playing Deus Ex: Mankind Divided recently and the receipt was still tucked in the box...I'd paid $15 CAD for it in June 2018. It released in August 2016.
I think your point was that Activision released Crash 4 for £60 four years ago which is a fair one to make and one that I can't disagree with you about.Probably. I don't even know what my point was anymore

Counter point: Why bother with a pre-order?After reading the previews for Astro Bot, I don't regret my pre order. It sounds fantastic.

surely you'll get the Elden Ring DLCI don't think I've played my PS5 for a good few months now.

We both know how this ends.Nah don't think I can be arsed to climb that steep learning curve again.

in case all the digital copies run out!Counter point: Why bother with a pre-order?
I started my 2nd playthrough in preparation and it's actually not that bad picking it up again. Still struggled on Margit but i absolutely wrecked Leonine the misbegotten. Don't know why i struggled against her/him/it originally.Nah don't think I can be arsed to climb that steep learning curve again.
Question:
I have RDR2 installed on PS4 on disc (as in: it's in my PS4 library, but it's on disc, not downloaded).
I have now transferred all my PS4 data to PS5 (seemingly), and I see that RDR2 is in my PS5 library (but not accessible, because - obviously - I don't own a DL version, only a disc one).
But - this is the question:
If I now buy the DL version and download it to my PS5, can I keep playing (on the PS5) from my latest save on the PS4?
I'll probably just buy the DL version anyway, because I want to play it on PS5 - but it would be nice if I could skip the first part (which is great on your first playthrough, but kinda boring once you've been through it).
I'm assuming you've got the digital PS5, or you'd just put the disc in.
You'll need to check the save data, but assuming you transferred everything, it should be there.

only to discover they don’t have the disc version?
Hey, look - I got this piece of junk cheap...ish. Kinda hate it already, but the idea is to make my life simpler by removing physical objects I need to interact with.
Like discs.
(It's part of a larger project. I also aim to be able to brush my teeth digitally, which I'm told you can do now, through AI or whatever.)
nice try. i’m not going to fall for engaging with the likes of you.
