Think this is very harsh. But tbf the game isn’t for everyone. It’s a pretty unique style. I have definitely started to feel the grind abit at this point, but that’s only because I’m 80 hours on and just so ridiculously OP that the challenge has all but gone now. I think I’d probably be best finishing the main story soon before I end up putting it down completely.
My verdict is more in line with the general user reviews. I think its decent but gets vastly inflated review scores due to being a AAA game. Combat is good and the pawns are good npc companions. However too many quests are poor and the lack of mounts and because the limited fast travel getting from A to B bececomes a drag imo. There is one quest in the end game where i have to escort a smith from his home to a base. I used a trainer to speed up the entire game because he was so slow. Then he died. Luckily i had 1 wakestone to revive. If i hadnt i would have to go questing for wakestone shards and you can't progress to ng+ without succeeding this mission.

And ng+ doesnt even up the difficulty so you just oneshot all enemies. On top of that the save game mechanics belong in the dark ages.

Decent but also full of flaws.

I gave in and got the portal now that my tv time is much more limited than it used to be. It’s great! Can’t believe how well it works once the ps5 is on Ethernet. Lovely screen and love how it retains the dual sense

Yep love mine too - just wish there was a better way of using the trackpad functionality

I finished DD2 a few days ago. Like Diablo 4 the reviews are way too positive. I can say i probably didnt change vocations enough to get the variety of combat but that was because getting the best gear is expensive and i didn't have a good way to make tons of gold. Its a decent game, but the metacritic average is around 9/10. I wouldnt give more than a 7 at most. Lots of good looking combat animations, but it becomes hollow after the 1st 10 hours. Shite story and shite open world. Its like really shit smaller skyrim but with only selling point being varied combat and pawns. Quests are abysmal and so is story. I played it on PC and its terribly optimized. I would only recommend it on a sale.
Yeah, i've yet to finish it because i can only stomach half an hour - an hour at a time before i become bored out of my mind. The first few hours was decent because traveling at night posed some challenge, but i've finished most of the main quest now and there is zero challenge left in the open world besides the Drakes

The first dragons dogma was one of my favourite games, especially with the dlc. As long as the combat is fun that's enough for me, that's what I loved the first for.

I have plus premium for the next 3 months, any hidden gems I should try? I don't like multiplayer.

For a game thread in general really but I have a PS5 so... Anyway for you AC fans:

Looks like Japan? I skipped Mirage so my last experience was Valhalla which while enjoyable dragged on way too long and was so much for drab and dreary compared to Odyssey.
