Gaming PlayStation 5

Anyone in Ireland have any tips on how to get one? I paid a €50 deposit at GameStop but they can’t guarantee delivery this year. Feck sake.

Dear Customer,
Thank you for your recent Currys PC World order for the SONY - PULSE 3D Wireless PS5 Headset.

Unfortunately, due to extremely high demand, our suppliers have been unable to deliver the expected amount to us. This means your order will be delayed for a little while. We’re really sorry for this delay, and we’re working hard to get it resolved.

We hope to be able to provide you with more information on when this item will be delivered to you within the next 48 hours.

We’re sorry we didn’t get it right this time. Getting amazing tech to our customers is what we love to do and we hate having to make you wait. We’ll get it sorted and hope that you’ll shop with us again in the future.

Kind regards,

Currys PC World

Yeah, no worries. The good intent was there. I wish it was tomorrow as my birthday is on the 18th - the day before the UK launch.

Enjoy your console.
Thanks. It’s just arrived and the first of many updates is on the way. At least you’ll have a nice belated birthday present!

Tell them you want a full refund

That brings me to the next issue... this order does not appear anywhere in my Curry's account... the only proof I have was the confirmation email and my PayPal receipt. I couldn't get hold of their customer services people when I tried.

I can live without the headset and thank feck I have my PS5 confirmed day 1 with shopto.

I will not open or touch my PS5 until I know @esmufc07 has his. If he doesn’t get his, I will deliver him mines because that’s what best friends do.

Take note @horsechoker you TV license thief.

Got the Dualsense today. It’s a bit weightier then the DS4 which is a good thing in my book. The etching of the PlayStation symbols to make the grippy surface is great detail but it’s not visible to the naked eye. Holding it next to my shock blue Series X pad, it does seem better made and a little less plasticky, although I don’t really have many negatives about the Xbox controller either, which has perhaps more of a grippy surface, which I like.
looking forward to seeing its innovations next week!

Open a claim on PayPal and trust me they will respond very fast to that.

This is mad. Is this gameplay?

The first game really did knock my socks off. I have never been a big fan of spiderman as a character, but the combat and web slinging was just so much fun.

I’d be 99% confident that is gameplay. The swinging seems too erratic to be anything choreographed and pre-rendered. You can also see the targets for swinging.

It does seem like they’ve made the cam more cinematic when swinging though.

Really is too bad that it seems like that spider man is only a dlc basically. 10 hours of gameplay isn't great for a full priced game. Will wait until it goes down to like $20.

My DualSense arrived today and my other accessories should arrive by Friday at the latest (though not sure if the headset will as it is part of the console order)

WIll have to wait to see for myself, but Eurogamer/Digital Foundry (personally my favourited review site) said

As for the game itself: well, it's not necessarily a true sequel in the traditional sense so much as a game that continues where the last one left off. The key thing here is that it does feel like its own game, as opposed to glorified DLC: the new characters and atmosphere are completely different and each of the main missions is beautifully crafted, just like the original. There's also plenty of stuff to do alongside the main missions but overall, I'd say that Miles Morales is indeed more comparable to something like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy - and that's a very good thing. (You can read more in Eurogamer's Spider-Man: Miles Morales review.)

I think there is a clear difference between an expansion and a DLC. Even in a world where DLC has become common place, there is still room for old school expansion style content imo.

Yup. Looks like its around 18 hours with all the side bits and pieces. It arrived today and I have to wait til next feckin week for the console. So annoying.

So........on ShopTo my order just changed to Shipped with a DPD tracking number. It hasn't populated into DPD''s online tracker yet, though. Has ShopTo ever been known to deliver abnormally early?

When did the PS4 become readily available? I’m in no rush and therefore can’t be arsed dicking about in online queues so wondering when the PS5 will become readily available too. Plus I want to be able to choose Argos/PC World/Tesco as I get discount through work!

This actually looks insane.

Never played the first Spiderman, so think this makes me want to splash out on the remastered one..

Are we all watching the same low res clip and saying it looks insane, looks like spiderman on ps4.

Its the best selling game on PS4 (maybe the biggest selling first party Sony game ever?) highly recommend it. Though the remastered version just offers some new character models and a couple of suits

They have often got it all ready and prepped days before for big releases then ship them the day before.

I know! Although there is a game that I pre-ordered along with it and both the console and the game are under the same ShopTo order. It's entirely possible that they've decided to send me the game separately ahead of time and that the console will just fecking sit there until next Thursday

It is blank just like Argos. None of them are going to break release because Sony will punish them when it comes to future stock. A place like ShopTo can’t afford that

Tracking will be live when DPD collect it. At the moment someone’s just labelling them in the ShopTo warehouse and sending out emails. All the stuff you ordered will come together.
