Gaming PlayStation 5

If I have a game on PS5, can I play online with someone who has the PS4 version. Fifa for example?

Not for Fifa you can't, some other games will likely support it.

I've taken it as good news that play must be significantly different but that's probably asking a bit much of EA.

I can't decide whether to get Demon's Souls.

I've got Miles and Sackboy already, but after hearing that Miles only takes about 10 hours to finish I feel like I need something else to get my teeth into. But saying that I'm struggling to justify dropping £70 on a game I never finished on the PS3.

I have since gotten much more into the Soulsborne games and this one looks stunning.

I'm in the same place. I know I'll get it, it's just a question of when. In all likelihood I'll have finished MM and Astroboy by the weekend so I might as well stump up for it on launch. I wonder if it's worth seeing if you can DL it digitally via a North American account for a fraction of the cost though.

Guys apparently ShopTo are selling PSN cards at 10-15% discount. If you buy those and then use them on PSN you'll save a bunch of money on digital purchases.

Shopto PSN cards are a very good shout. Also, if you're going for a disc version of the console, I can't recommend somewhere like Boomerang games highly enough to rent games - especially if you're not 100% sure you'll like a game enough to slap down the full price of it.

Not a bad idea, but I can't see any huge savings on release games, even buying off the US version.

My relationship with Soulsborne games is a it of a mixed bag. I enjoy them, but ultimately I get frustrated and give up. In recent years I've only finished Bloodborne out of all of them, I don't want necessarily drop £70 on a game I already got frustrated with and gave up on once before, albeit before a truly got into the genre.

Does it matter if I play Miles Morales before Spider-Man remastered or are they supposed to be played the other way around?

Am I blind? Didn't see anything about a date, let alone early 2021. My mate told me HZD is a ways away yet.

Horizon Forbidden West is cross gen so I would expect it sooner rather than later.

When I asked my friend a few weeks a go he said there's still a lot to do on it and it won't be out anytime soon. I assumed that meant late next year at the earliest.

Why would he have that sort of info? Anyway, in my opinion a first party studio still releasing a cross gen AAA game a full year into the generation would be extremely disappointing, bordering on pathetic.

He works for Guerrilla

My friend is a PlayStation employee and he knows feck all about the price. He says whenever meetings start moving into the pricing discussion, non essential staff are asked to leave and basically it's only the top brass that are privy to that information.

Don’t know why Guerilla would be having meetings about prices. But just to let everyone know my mate works for Rockstar and he is harder than all of you.

Bugsnax getting good reviews....8/9 everywhere

So a pretty 'low key' PS5 launch (in terms of games) is turning into a pretty solid line up. Spider-Man, Bugsnax, Astro's Playroom, Dark Souls then third party games like Assassins Creed all scoring really well.

I am genuinely really looking to trying Bugsnax

An island filled with critters is the setting for one of the more memorable games of the year.

Bugsnax is a light-lifting puzzle adventure that is elevated by its strong story and characters that I enjoyed until the very end. Despite some simple mechanics, the laughs outnumbered the groans significantly as I found myself surprisingly invested in the events of the island and its inhabitants. With over 100 Bugsnax to discover and catch there’s plenty here to entertain the completionists, alongside those just looking for a well-told six-hour mystery that will keep you guessing until after the credits roll. All of this while making you feel emotionally connected to the characters, something you previously might have thought sounded impossible. Until you saw a carrot crawl, that is.

I don't know the full details but we talk fairly regularly and when I asked him about the price a few months a go that was the answer I got.

I had to be careful what I talked about with the original Horizon because I visited the studio during development and had to sign an NDA. I did get a free copy of the game though.

He normally answers any questions I have but he doesn't seem to have too much info on PS5 or HFW release date.
