Gaming PlayStation 5

I have never given a shit which consoles AMD GPU is 0.01% faster than the other consoles AMD GPU.

But the recent loading time comparisons make me want to claw my eyes out. I really don't give a flying feck if one console loads Fortnite 6 seconds faster than the other.

Yeah, a too much being made of it, now I know how quickly games load I won't give a shit about dying. I used to avoid dying at all costs because the load times were utter bullshit. Now I'll Wade into battle and die repeatedly because I know I'm 4 seconds away from retrying.

Wtf reality is that? alternate dimension where everything is made of glass and is perfectly polished all the time?

It looks pretty but it doesn't look real.

Haha if the buildings were like that in real life the lighting should be very similar, that's what i mean it calculates how the light would bounce/refract off objects just like our reality.

Ah I understand, so it's just the environment is stupidly designed now.

But its not even that, I get why things like reloading after a death matters; but many of these comparisons are about turning the system on/opening games from the main menu.

I don't understand all this tech bullshit anymore

Think my TV is 100hz, 4k, HDR. Don't hunk it was hdmi 2.1 though.

So what am I gonna be playing games in? 30fps + 4k ?

60fps and 1080p?

Or is 60fps + 4k possible?

Pretty sure HDMI 2.0 is fine for 4k60, you just can't go any higher than that

This motherfecker was acting like he was just doing me a solid giving me his spare pre-order, I offered him something worth more than £100 just as a thank you and he says he'll think about it. Scum!!

ShopTo.

Maybe I'm reading into it, but they must be confident about deliveries. The cut off date for payment to guarantee pre-orders for day one was 31st Oct. Now it's saying the 8th Nov as a last guarantee for day one. Think there's something in that?
Nah. However, ShopTo are decent for getting games a day early.

No.

They did that with Xbox. Basically people cancelled with them and they offered the consoles to other people who have until the 8th to pay up. If they don’t pay by then they obviously go to the next people on the waiting list.

I’ve read your better off with a monitor that’s 1080p with a higher frame rate rather than buying a 4K monitor? I find it all abit confusing.

For competitive gamers that would probably be the better option and more affordable. 1080p monitors can go to a much higher refresh rate because it's a lower resolution. Pretty important for online first person shooters and racing games. 4K however is the much better option for RPG's and open world games in general because it's a far superior resolution and everything will look incredible. You can still go to high enough refresh rates but it'll cost an arm and a leg for anything above 60-70hz on a monitor. It's a big jump up from 1080p though and you'll really see the difference.

Ahh ok, so basically would be better sticking to playing call of duty etc on my monitor. But better off buying a tv that’s 4K to play single players games on basically. What price are you talking for a 4K monitor with a high frame rate? Roughly.

Aha fair! I cancelled my preorder but I keep getting told I can preload it
That’s weird. Could be worth trying to pre load it then. I hated the beta for black ops 3 but ended up liking the actual game. I’ve seen Cold War is £55 on shopto. But then it’s £10 to upgrade to the PS5 version. Digitally it’s £65 as a bundle. I’m just one of them that likes to have the disc versions.

Just get a decent 4k TV it will be cheaper, bigger and you won't really miss anything.

Console gaming isn't at that level where your gonna feel a huge difference spending all the extra money for 4k 120fps not with a controller as the input.

That's wrong. HDMI does 120fps. Just not at 4K.

Yeah HDMI 2.0 can do 120fps OR 4k but not together. But it can do 4k60 together which is what was asked and what I said.

Yeah I think I’m edging towards a 4K TV.

Considering I play more games than both of you combined, and I'm at least 4x better than you combined at them, I'm not a stonecutter.
Tell me you've gotten around to playing Astro Bots Rescue Mission?

Wish I knew how to link it but Reddit on the ps5 sub has more footage today of Spider-Man 30fps with RT and without and it looks absolutely gorgeous either way, my god what a great start to the new generation!

The one with the last clip of him climbing up a building? If so, I prefer rt off for that last clip, you see the chairs and stuff through the windows. Looks more natural

Yeah! I liked how good the floor looked, I agree about the windows when he was climbing.

I've not played Destiny/Destiny 2 for years but just know that my time will be verging on 1000 hours
Yep... Destiny and ESO will be my most played games even though I haven't played them in years.

1509h on Destiny 1 (last seen 3 years ago), 453h on Destiny 2 (last seen 2 years ago). Sounds about right.

1024 hours on Destiny for me. A fair chunk of that was stood at the entrance to The Vault of Glass final boss, waiting for Damo to arrive... :smirk:

I'm interested to see how many hours I sunk into ESO and The Division.
