Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

Very disappointing to read about all the DLC content they will be charging for after the game. In fact already advertising the DLC content before the game has been released, smacks of arrogance and downright theft. Probably levels that were not added into the original game and being kept back to rip off the consumer even more.

Yeah I've gone right off it now. DLC is the way of the world now but to have something released a month after the main game is unacceptable IMO.

In almost all cases, the DLC is nowhere near the value of the main game. Obviously I've not played it, so should probably reserve some judgement but it takes years to create the main game, costs £40 and probably lasts on the region of 20+ hours. Then a month later there's a £10 expansion (I know there's a discount for all 3) that has (alledgely) been done in almost no time won't bring anything more than a few extra missions, that will have exactly the same gameplay to it.

I'll just wait for the complete edition unless it scores 10/10 across the board.

I really enjoyed it but these sort of games are right up my alley.

Yeah I like them too, played Heavy Rain and enjoyed it for what it was. I also struggled to get settled on playing anything after God of War but Until Dawn was the perfect remedy to that. There's also unintentional humour in these games too when Cage's writing gets a bit ludicrous though I hear in Detroit its more in small doses than previous games.

Picked up Divinity Original Sin 2 today on PS4. Only played it for about 2 hours, but think it’s the most ‘RPG’ game I’ve played so far. Really cool but the openness of quests is quite intimidating.

Anyone else picked it up??

Currently playing it on PC. Just escaped Fort Joy and made it to Driftwood.

Yeah it's an incredible game. Don't get bogged down in quests, just explore and you'll naturally find stuff to help you progress.

Think the definitive edition came out today with loads of new features so I'll be due a replay eventually.

Yeah that’s what I’m trying to do

That’s the part I’m on. Not to sure how to get out but I have the teleportation glove, but no idea where the bloke wants me to teleport him, he just moans when I do it.

Gawin. You do a quest where you kill crocodiles on the beach to get the glove
I killed the crocodiles and found the teleportation gloves early on, but not as part of a quest. Just stumbled across them while roaming. I'm over 20 hours in.

I think it's...

...round where the poison trap before the branches to climb up is, where the elf in the tent lives.

There is more than one way to escape the prison. Some are more obvious than others. Being able to teleport your entire party early is helpful.

Game is incredible, done a co-op game with my mates. Love the narration, makes it feel like proper D&D. Love the freedom as well, one of the only games I properly RP'd instead of doing what I thought the game wanted me to do / would give me the most advantage.

Fair enough. Might try a different way. I did the stolen goods mission and have been shown the secret exit but I think I need a shovel for it which I can’t find

There's one on a broken wall right before you enter Fort Joy. I also recommend you pick up a bedroll.

There's also a shovel near Griff. I ended up getting into a fight with him and his cronies.

Click on the bedroll and your party get full energy.

Cool. I’ve just beaten the guards in the dungeon, easy enough. Then spent 20 minutes finding the keys on the stool.

I love reading about the shit people are doing in games with absolutely no context, especially RPG's you picture some mad shit in your head.

I remember reading about skyrim with no knowledge about it or any of the previous elder scrolls game. It sounded fecking mental so I looked it up & went out right away and bought it.

It reads like somebody who knows nothing about RPGs wrote a script about it.

Loving everything I've seen from Spider-Man, actually looking forward to it more the RDR2...

New York looks incredible from that shot at the end.

It really does!

Every video and preview and interview shows how much effort and attention to detail they have put into this game. It truly looks like a labor of love and am really excited for it!

Can’t wait for this too. I’ve cleaned up my shelf of games so I actually don’t have any noticeable back log anymore and will be able to jump in and enjoy straightaway. It comes out on the same day as NBA though which will make it tough to focus

I've played it on PC, it's probably one of the best-ever games I've ever played, totally recommend it.

I swear when I was single and had lots of time a few years ago there were no good games coming out and now that I've moved in with the missus there are loads.

I'll say one thing for this Spider-Man game, they've certainly marketed alright. A bit too much, IMO. It's been pretty incessant these last couple of months in particular.

Is it good? Have been intrigued by Quantic Dreams' earlier games but the demo felt a bit heavy-handed.
It's decent. Attention to detail is high, musical score is solid. Consequences and choices really do affect your flowchart. Writing is pretty clunky though, especially for one of the character arcs.

Is it possible to market your product too much?

I have no idea how anyone can play DOS2 on normal difficulty. I'm playing on easy and I still get my ass handed to me on occasion. By enemies that are only a level above me. I really don't like turn based combat.

From the publishes point of view i suppose not. I’m thinking more from the consumer. It seems to have reached a point of over saturation in my opinion. There’s just no surprise anymore. They’ve literally released like 7 bloody trailers!

At the end of the day it’s my fault for watching them i suppose, but they’re there to watch so i’m going to. Just wish they pumped the breaks a little.
