Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

I want to get the one-year PS Plus subscription. When do they normally have discounts on those? I hope I don't have to wait till Christmas.
Just have to keep an eye out for a decent deal, they usually have stuff at different times of the year but it's easy to miss them. Personally I got the 15 months for £35 on Prime day.

I'm a bit f*cked with PS Plus. I got my PS4 originally from England so it has my UK card on there but there's no money on that and hasn't been for 4 years. It won't let me add a card from another country so I change to a new profile to get Plus but then half my games are locked cause I downloaded them in the UK.
Can't you just buy ps plus/ add credit using codes instead so you don't have to register a new card?

Same here. Hell of a deal. I was paying every three months before that and it was a rip off. Don't have to worry about it now until next November

I wasn't sure how to do it. It looked like you had to buy a card with points on from Amazon?

I had a similar issue - my PS was setup in the UK and I no longer had a UK card..

I bought UK PSN cards from here:

https://www.play-asia.com/search/sony+psn

The advantage here is that you can pay for them using any credit card - whereas if you try and buy UK PSN cards from UK Amazon, then you still need a UK credit card / method of payment.

Have bought a number of cards from them - you usually get the PSN code instantly - sometimes takes a few minutes, and they you can just add it to your wallet on your UK profile.

Yeah, you can buy either top up cards or ps plus subscriptions from other sites (I got my ps plus deal on amazon and I've bought psn credit on cdkeys) and they send you a code you can redeem through the psn store. I'm not 100% on how that would work in other countries but if you have a UK account I presume you have to make sure any credit/subscriptions you buy are for that region but you should at least be able to use your card to buy the credit/sub and then the code will work on your account.

edit: or what swooshboy said.

Sweet. Cheers guys!

That's an awesome deal. Going to wait for a similar one. I'll do a monthly sub till then.

So I've finished God of War now, after playing Horizon. What should I play next? I want a game where I don't have to plough 50/60 hours into it. One that can be completed in 6-10 but still has a good story/gameplay etc.

I've still got the Order which I have never got around to playing but I've heard it's a bit crap? I'd get back onto the Uncharted's but my brother has them atm.

Persona 5

EDIT: sorry did you mean hours or years?

Anyone know of any good PS4 Pro deals? Hoping to get my hands on one this week, especially the white one. Everywhere seemed to be doing them for 349 but all are sold out at that price. Amazon currently wanting 389 for the white and 400 for the black one which is a bit too much.

Destiny 2 is a real surprise, I would've thought it was still pretty popular and selling well. They must be hoping those joining the party for free will buy some DLC. I played the first and never had any intention of buying the second one but I might just give it a spin for free.

There's a big piece of DLC dropping next week. Very good move by them to make this game free.

It's Destiny 1.5. You've already seen pretty much everything there is to see.

Yeah the first Destiny was fine for me but I was done with it after 2 weeks.

I might be wrong and he might have left (loads of others have) but I think @redom is still an admin of the RedCafe clan if anyone does get D2 on PS+ and wants to join. Just let him know your PSN IDs.

I think technically I'm still an admin and would love to play but haven't done in about a year as I had nobody to do stuff with due to communication issues.

God of War is a bit overwhelming to me, to be honest.

It plays great, looks amazing, relationship and voice acting between Kratos and Atreus is top notch but just after finishing Alfheim and it feels like there is a dozen areas, a dozen collectables and dozens more crafting components, talismans, runes and upgrades.

I found it had a steep learning curve and I kept always confusing the different types of armour and talismans stuff but I mainly had a decent grip on it.

Just play the main story if you're not overly bothered about the other stuff, it's well worth it.

And don't worry about the other realms. Midgard is by far the biggest, there's a couple of side quest realms that you don't even need to go to, and there's 2 (maybe 3) you can't even get to in the game.

In short, stop being a pussy.

PS Plus doing well this month! I'll download both, definitely wanted gow3 before this but never got round to it and might aswell give d2 a bash

Whenever I've pre-ordered with amazon it's always come a day early, been a few years mind.
Ah! Didn't even know Amazon did pre-orders on games!
ShopTo was good but been years since I used them.
I think I got my GTA V from there a couple of days early. Haven't used them in years either, though.

I'm off away from the 7th so would love to get a day or two in on it before I go.

Can't wait for red dead. I may even try Spiderman too, haven't had much desire to play games in a couple of years but now I fancy it

Amazon are the worst. They never ship games out early. Also I preordered shenmue months in advance and for some reason they had stock issues, told me it’s delayed for a week or so despite sending me dispatch email. So I told them to cancel it.

Simply games and the game collection are the best. Simply games got me Yakuza 2 last Saturday when release was Tuesday. ShopTo are decent at times.

But there’s also chances Sony have told everyone not to ship early or get fined because this isn’t the case of it coming out somewhere else before like usually it would release Tuesday in America and Friday here. But it’s releasing on Friday everywhere.

I remember seeing "admin" under my name on the clan page and thinking it was a glitch or something because I was the only one on, I've never done anything remotely adminy
I am still on though and there's plenty of stuff you can do without a mic if you fancy getting back into it.

Yeah, I made you one because you were the most active on there  ah well.

Cheers. Not been on the PS4 at all in months but might give it another shot. In D1 I managed to do everything bar the final raid without a mic and by that point the majority of the caf D1 players I played with had gone on to other stuff.

For anyone thinking of picking up d2 for free it's available early because this saturday they're having a 24 hour free access to their new game mode "Gambit", which drops with Forsaken, so I guess they wanted as many people as possible to try it out, it's a mix of pve and pvp and seems to be one of the main selling points of the dlc.

Very disappointing to read about all the DLC content they will be charging for after the game. In fact already advertising the DLC content before the game has been released, smacks of arrogance and downright theft. Probably levels that were not added into the original game and being kept back to rip off the consumer even more.

I assume you're talking about the upcoming Spider-Man game? That annoys me as well. The game isn't even out and they've already announced a $9.99 DLC that they will release barely 1.5 months after the game itself, with another 2 pieces of DLC coming soon after that. Why on earth would you want to buy all that or spend the equivalent of $80 on a deluxe edition when you know you probably won't have to wait that long to buy a complete edition at a much lower price? I feels like a rip-off. All the more because you know the DLC won't be substantial, considering the short time-frame.

It is a rip off. As long as people keep buying it they will keep doing it.

I've stopped buying games on release now, I just wait a few months then buy when the price drops.

Exactly my thoughts. Was going to buy this for my son (and me) but not now after that.

DLC issues aside, will this game be any good?
Seems to be a typical open world super-hero game. By all accounts it plays great (especially the web-slinging movement) but feels repetitive and formulaic. That's what I get from articles by people who've played it at E3. I'm not sure what all the hype is about, I don't see anything special about it.
