Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

Do ya have a link to that HDD, im thinking of buying one

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Seagate-Ex...e=UTF8&qid=1473924562&sr=1-1&keywords=seagate this is the newer model to the one I got. It has to be a 2.5" HDD to fit. There are guides on how to do it all but it was for the older model. Just be careful opening the case and you can re-use it with your original 500GB.

thats exactly the one I got

I will be using this guide

Yeah, I did the same trick using seagate external. My original hdd is now acting as a pvr on my tv. Its piss easy.

The dread comes when copying files across; that takes ages. What I would say is delete games you have on disk to reduce transfer times.
how to I cope the files across?

My 500GB is constantly nearly full. But thats a good idea about deleting the disk games

The guide is below. However, you will need another spare external USB HDD. Luckily I was able to borrow one from work when I swapped my HDD.

Whilst it is a pain and time consuming (a good few hours) it is worth it if you have a lot of downloaded games, DLC or patches.
I have a 1TB drive at home. Its half full with music and crap. Will it matter if other stuff is on it?

Really want a PS4 now for PES the Assassins Creed Remaster and Tomb Raider. Those slim ones look pretty cool.

Not sure to be honest, mine was empty at the time. It does have to be in the right format though and you need to have the full PS4 software (not the update file) ready to install on the new HDD.

Do it, but for the extra money I would look at the ps4pro, especially as new tomb raider will have three different graphical settings for the pro.

Got one on pre-order - can't wait! A good bundle at amazon £330 for a 1TB Slim, Fifa 17 and a controller. Fifa and a controller retail for £90 and yet you're getting them for just £10 more than the 1TB Slim by itself.

No point me getting a pro, don't have a 4K tv and not really planning on getting one anytime soon.

A 1080p tv will show benefits of the pro, as it was noted that some games will improve IQ and textures etc for 1080p, whilst others will allow a down-sampling type effect, ie it should be rendered at 4K but down sampled to display on 1080p. I'm looking for a 4k tv now, as thinking of upgrading to the pro.

I'm not gonna bother with 4k till the next gen, hardly any content... Learnt from being early on HD and 3D. Can't be bothered this time around.

Has anyone installed a new hd into the ps4? I bought a 2tb drive off amazon today which I'll have by Friday

It's a seagate external which I'm gonna break open and take the drive out. Looks easy on YouTube :nervous:

Yeah I did it following Giant bombs instruction. Fairly easy. Only hard part was getting the HDD out of the external.

Hopefully I can use my 2TB for the pro if possible.

Mine was bad for the FIFA demo took over an hour, but a day later I downladed the full Pro Evo game in less time.
The DL speed from PSN depends on their server rather than your connection. If the demo is being downloaded loads at the same time (Fifa obv was) then it'll be pretty slow. Other games where less are downloading will be faster. Same with patches.

Aye actually that sounds about right, I was trying the old pause/restart trick with the FIFA demo and even when I got a good speed I'd check back 10 mins later and it was terrible again.

Random, but just saw this fan-made video of Driveclub - still the best looking racing game out there.

Game are doing a trade in scheme for PS4 users that want to upgrade to the pro.

It's £175.00 upfront when you trade your ps4 and 5 games in.

I'm not sure that's a particularly good deal.

It mightn't be a bad deal if they accept any old games and you were planning on getting one anyway. It works out as half price and I assume all your digital library will transfer over and remain intact. If anything it suggests they are worried about a lack of uptake and are trying to encourage people to trade up.

Can you trade in 5 dog shit games? The deal might be worth it in that case

It sounds like they will accept anything that isn't an old FIFA or sporting game.

Operation switch hard drive a hugely surprising success. Shit like that doesn't normally work for me

Still have all my saves and P.T.

2TB's

I brought a head set about 6 months ago, I can still hear out of them fine but the mic has stopped working. Any ideas or do I just buy a new one

Attack on Titan (really enjoying it!), Pro Evo 2017, and some Rocket League here and there. I've also got the Mega Man collection on the go as well but don't really get the time to play that much.

It's pretty good but it got too tediously difficult and I stopped playing.

I'm probably about half way through and didn't think it was that difficult but if the difficulty does ramp up that's what it was like on the original so I'll probably love it even more. It's such a good reimagining of a classic game.
