Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

I had GTA5 on PS3, never got a chance to complete it but I don't think I can justify buying it again on PS4.

I've been looking at reviews on a good few games and none of them are really gripping me. I'll definitely look at Tomb Raider though, not that much of a risk for that price.

It's much better on next gen IMO, even though I have basically all games that interest me and I'm yet to complete majority of them I still spend most of my PlayStation time with GTA5. If you play online you're bound to get hunreds of hours out of it. TLOU is another good remaster you should have a look at, especially if you haven't completed it on the past generation.

Far Cry will be a good pick. Maybe give an outside chance to Dying Light, it's not a 85/100 game on metacritic but it's highly enjoyable and gamers have given it great scores. It's a proper survival mixed with some action, very good game.

I assure you, it isn't.
It's that bad? In that case I'll probably give it a skip and stick to Tomb Raider. I don't really need to add much to my collection, Tomb Raider is a safe bet because it's much better than on PS3 apparently.

Thanks! Yeah I did get TLOU and loved it, was also looking at Second Son which is available for a pretty cheap price now so I may look into that.

I might wait and see what kind of reviews The Order gets, also like the look of Tom Clancy's The Division but they haven't even specified a release date for that yet.
I have a feeling that second son will be on ps plus soon so maybe hold off on that for now.

Dying light for me is better played with friends.

I don't think Dragon Age is too hard to get into. Especially if you played other games from Bioware. And it really isn't hard to pick up and play after a few weeks. I have taken breaks on it and yet to finish it.

yeah sorry I assumed you meant metacritic

Im not sure I believe the entire industry is bent. I think they dont look to dish out overly harsh scores at times I suppose but usually average critic review score is quite fair and accurate.

Not good news on The Order. Sony badly needs a good exclusive, Bloodbourne better be amazing

Bent isn't quite the word I'd use, but they are all at it with the favourable review scores to the companies who treat them well as you know. Some are still worth a read though to get an idea.

BTW some new discounts on European PS Store. You can get Tomb Raider for £11, I think I'm finally going to cave in and buy it. Murdered Soul Suspect looks good value at £9 too, while it hasn't got the best review it's still supposed to be a decent game and at this price it's certainly interesting. I'd grab Evil Within for £19 but it's been mostly criticised for its gameplay and people on here have said it was terrible so I am probably going to give it a skip for now and will buy it once it's £10 or something.
I assure you, it isn't.

The Evil Within is even worse value at that price.

A quid and maybe...

Uncharted will sell no doubt and I'm really looking forward to it, however I don't think it'll be revolutionising the genre.

I still think we're a couple of years away from games having the graphics of The Order and new, interesting gameplay.
Uncharted will no doubt be just as good visually anyway and even though the gameplay isn't original it more than makes up for it with the characters, story and the whole cinematic experience.

As long as game nails your last few points you can forgive generic gameplay (see any Naughty Dog game). I'm not bashing Uncharted by any means, I'm a huge fan of the series but by this time in the last gens lifespan we had games that had completely revolutionised gameplay.

I really want to expand on the type of games I play. Getting bored of football games and CoD.

I'm pretty tempted on Dragon Age or maybe Diablo but I'm not sure if they're my kind of games. Wolfenstein looks good too.

EDIT- Far Cry 4 is surely worth €40 (£29.50) isn't it?

Far Cry is worth that price

Dragon age is very good but Diablo is a cut above. I've stopped playing Dragonage in favour of Diablo and I'm seriously considering trading it in while it's still worth a decent amount. I just dont see myself finishing it while Diablo is in my library.

Would Diablo be a complicated game for someone who has never played a game of that kind before?

Depends how deep you want to get into it. It's very pick up and play, it's my first experience of Diablo and I picked it up straight away. Now I'm looking into the lore and best character builds.

Start with Bloodbourne then and you'd be supporting a new franchise too. It's pretty easy too.

I would say far cry is worth 40 bucks if you're into open world games. It's story is okay but people have really enjoyed this game especially those who like open world games.

Dragon age has won several game of the year awards, so I would say definitely you can look into this. Personally, I haven't got this yet as have backlog of games but will definitely get it when it will get cheaper.

Yeah I think Definitive edition has much better graphics and it includes dlc also.

Not that difficult unless you want to get really deep into it. Great for multiplayer as well, especially couch co-op, I had some fun with it. I sold it though because with the outpour of games in the Q4 2014 I wouldn't find time to play it.

Lambs, which games are you playing right now (any system) ?

I recently got a Wii U so right now I'm playing all of Mario Kart 8, Metroid Trilogy, No More Heroes, Skyward sword and of course Majora's Mask. All nintendo'd up

But I do switch games up all the time. I have have an absolutely huge backlog of games bought and not yet played, recent releases have to be special to be bumped up the list!

Latest Tomb Raider was better than Uncharted 3 for me.

Comfortably better.

Probably the best action adventure game I've played since Uncharted 2, actually.

If I hadn't played Sunset Overdrive I'd probably agree.

For me, the only gripes come when you start to judge it as a Tomb Raider game I guess rather than on it's own merits.

Guys, I will be interested in getting a Bioshock game for my PS3. I don't think I'll get all as they're not related anyway. Which one you think was the best in the series?

Bioshock 1. It's incredible.

I really liked 2 and Infinite also. Infinite is fairly standard gameplay wise but the story is brilliant and the world beautiful. 2 does some interesting things. 1 is on another level though.

In hindsight, Uncharted 3 was pretty disappointing.

It feels like a lot of the hype for Uncharted 4 stems from TLOU rather than Uncharted 3 which is weird. I mean, I get that TLOU was their latest release but still..

I'm interested to see how it does. Not convinced it'll be as great yet, though it's nailed on to review very well. Still, I have more confidence in it than Halo 5 (even though I actually think Halo 5 will be good).

It's not weird, its the Druckmann/Straley connection, they made Uncharted 2 then they made TLOU, its not a coincidence that the quality dropped in Uncharted 3 because their involvement was minimal. As good as game developers are they need direction and right now those two are among the best in the business, I've 100% confidence they will nail it again and continue their streak.

Like others here,I couldn't recommend Bioshock highly enough.Great and well paced story, fantastic atmosphere and quick, fun combat.

Bioshock 2 and Infinite are well worth playing but never reach the heights of 1. 10/10 game for me.

Where's everyone getting Tomb Raider for £11 or the equivalent of that? It says £34.99 on mine and then once I click on the purchase option I get error - E-82000113. Is it still on sale?

I've just read that it is on sale at that price until the 25th and that error code means psn is updating. Perhaps our and other peoples psn hasn't updated yet who can't access/purchase it at the minute.
Grand, hopefully that's the case.
