Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

But Lambs says that the PS4 is an underpowered laptop level bit of shite using mobile parts!

He doesn't have 8GB of GDDR5 in his 2 grand PC.

You trying to start again after getting your skinny old arse spanked last night?

You are like a chihuahua yapping at the big dog.

And a driving game at 30fps? Wasn't you telling us recently that's not right? Bellend.

I just find it funny that as soon as I mention that you suddenly appear out of nowhere within minutes. It's brilliant.

I was reading the thread. You know, that's what they are here for.

In any case I might get me a shiny PS4 now there's finally a game that interests me coming up. I'll let you know when I need advice on the psn games since you've cleared them all

@Redlambs why do you say the metro 2033 in redux is worse? I have the original pc game (can run it at decently high settings, though not maxed by any means) but was thinking of picking up redux on ps4 and playing them that way. Should I stick with the original whenever I get around to playing metro?

It's tough. Some things are better, the stealth for one, but graphically it takes the edge of the dark and atmospheric original. Plus it's slower and more plodding, and little things like the shop system is different (in a bad way) I don't like how they've changed the torch/charger and the aiming/bullets collision is far too precise. It also seems easier all round. I also hate the new 2 gun system, I wish they'd stop doing shit like that - Halo worked because it was balanced for it, Metro isn't and doesn't.

Also the graphic updates aren't that good at all, the character models look worse and it runs like crap on everything.

It's worth a try if you haven't played first light, you might like the changes. I just think they've literally made it more shiny and easier, which is a shame because from what I've played the story seems more fleshed.

Just bought mine today. 500gb, 2 controllers, stand and charging station. No game...yeah. Juts gonna download some indie titles and grab Destiny tuesday night after work.

Which Destiny should I get?

Really? Drive Club is the game that might tempt you to get a PS4?

Why? You think it's shit or something?

Nah it just surprised me that would be the game to get you to buy one to be honest.

I guess it's cause I knew you likely could play racing games with as good/better graphics on PC, and know you're more of a sim racer.

But no, I wasn't trying to insinuate there was anything wrong with it. And the graphics do look awesome. I'll be playing the PS+ version the day it hits for sure.

To be honest mate I've got itchy feet. Now I've done my PC I'm think I want a console soon and there's a few things on PS4 coming up that I'm thinking about. I'm not bothered about Forza 5 though Horizon may make me think about the XBone first, but I will get both anyway eventually.

Besides what I really am thinking about is just how badly I'm going to humiliate Weaste at it ;)

Or you could own Lance at Smash Bros and join us on Wii U. Remember, Mario Maker next year.

So is it worth waiting a few weeks before buying Destiny? Will PSN hold up under the strain at launch?

I'd give it a week, think the servers will be fine after a couple days but I'm comfortable with waiting for user and publication reviews.

That lot up in scouseland have a lot of talent. I know a few of them, Lambs probably knows a lot more of them. After what happened to Livepool, we really don't want that studio being closed down. I'd buy this game if it was a stinking pile of shite, but it wont be because of the guys that are there.

So actually how many people will buy the full game on here? Just curious. I will be buying the full game.

Gonna download the demo and maybe my Step Dad will buy it if he likes it. I know he wants to branch into games that aren't COD and keeps buying them, but sells them a week or so later when he's utterly awful at them.

Yeah I'll buy the full game unless it gets trashed in the reviews.

I will buy it. Dying for a racing game on PS4. A good one (not Need for Speed)

Yeah man, I'm seriously disappointed with Need for Speed after being really excited when it was added to EA Access.

Yeah I'm not a fan of 'fun' arcadey type racers. I'm a GT guy. Drive club looks that type of game. I think it's a racing sim anyway.

GT7 will be the big one whenever that thing is out.

Nah.. it's not. It's more like a Grid 2 where it's a mix of both. You'll have to drift and break somewhat, you can't just hold down accelerate all the time and constant boost. But, you won't need to be constantly breaking, and accelerating out of corners, hitting apexs, carefully choosing your moments to overtake and all that stuff. Obviously, you'll do that stuff somewhat as you would any racer but nowhere near to the extent you would a Gran Turismo.

Drive Club is inbetween, I think.

If you want a sim racer then get project cars.

Ahh fair enough, maybe I'll check the PS Plus version out then decide after playing it.

I was completely unaware that this existed. Looks very interesting, my kind of thing. Thanks for the heads up.

Hmm so both upsides and drawbacks on either version..I'll probably play the original then, no need to double dip for the redux version.

Sorry about the auto correct mistake in my last post, anyways Drive Club looks amazing, has any tried the Xbox One thumbsticks mod on the DS4? If so what's verdict?

No offline mode is annoying.

I'll take your advice and leave it a few weeks. Cheers dude.

Diablo is great and Destiny will probably be great, I haven't tried Wolfenstein although it doesn't get good review scores I've found most people really enjoyed the game.

Diablo is a game you could play for months and I'm guessing Destiny will be the same, it depends on what type of game you prefer but the Destiny hype is going to be huge from Tuesday onwards.

Alright guys - about to buy the PS4. Anyone recommend a good website from where to get it from to get the best deal? See it's 339.85 on Amazon, is that close to the best?
