Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

Just pre-ordered the white Destiny bundle. :drool:

If the console wasn't white I probably wouldn't have bought it at this time and waited until Christmas.

Those who've played the beta - what are your general views on the game?

£69 (can get it for £10 less) and looks pretty good. I've been extremely happy with my Driving Force GT on a PS3. I'll probably get it 2 weeks before DriveClub is out as I fully expect people to go mental and buy it in huge amounts after it's out here.

Their marketing team did some seriously good work with this entire scheme.

I just know there will be some good deals around Christmas, but the white console is just so pretty.

Looked at it earlier, it may have tempted me if it had fcuking FFB, how is it that expensive anyway... build quality looks ok but no FFB? I think they are taking the piss personally (thrustmaster), I can see why the Fanatec wheel is so expensive as it's direct drive but the TM ones just seems like a company taking the piss as they have (had) the only wheels out.

I've mentioned my concerns with the game previously but my brother was in the beta this week and said its actually a really good game and fun to play. My main worry has been the handling/physics model but he says its much improved from when we both played it last so I think I might get it now.

He did say the online component has been very flaky and struggled to get it working so had to play it mainly offline so they need to get that sorted for final release but yeah I'm interested!
 
Four racers out in a space of a month. And yet none out for the remainder of the year.

No wonder developers lose their jobs, when morons above who choose the release date send it out to die.

Thankfully F1 was delayed on next gen.

The Crew will also likely appeal to the same people who will also consider Drive Club/Forza Horizon (them two don't compete directly because they're for different platforms). Project Cars is a sim so it's likely to go into different demographics.

I didn't realise it had no FFB. In this case I might skip it or only keep for a while before I can afford something better - better to play with an average wheel than a pad.

Driving Force GT is :drool: I bought it for €80 and kept it for the past 4 years. I don't get why nothing other than Gran Turismo supports it.

You can separate Forza Horizon 2 and Driveclub as they are not in competition with each other apart from in the case where someone owns both consoles. Driveclub also has its PS+ edition so I'd imagine that a lot of people will hold off buying it day 1 anyway to try it out first. It's a clever move by Sony in a way, as they have the opportunity here to get people hooked on Driveclub for free, but it could go two ways. People will give Driveclub a go on PS+ and not buy one of the others - going on to buy the full Driveclub, or, people will give Driveclub a go on PS+ and use the money saved to buy one of the others and Sony collects the royalty fees - hopefully then going on to buy Driveclub anyway. PS+ edition is a way to get people into playing racing games that may otherwise never have considered it. That's what 1st party titles should do, increase interest in the system as a whole and help it to grow, they are not there with the primary purpose of making money directly (break even is good), although it's obviously nice when they do.

If anything, The Crew is far more in competition with Forza than Driveclub, and Project Cars is a sim racer, so totally different.
 
Finally getting one of these tomorrow :drool: I've been wanting one for over a year so it's about time...

I'm looking to get one game to entertain me until FIFA comes out, don't have much money to spend so it'd make a pretty big difference if I could get a bundle. Can anyone recommend me a game? Preferably something that is easy enough to pick up and play, something that doesn't get boring quickly and something that will highlight how good the graphics can be on the PS4? I'm just about to look into games that are out, I think watch dogs might be something I'd like. Not interested in a car game although my girlfriend wants me to get one, she's only play it, realise she's shit and ask me to put on a fecking rom com. Anyway, any recommendations? Tbh. I'm a bit of a sheep when it comes to gaming. My collection is almost always the newest FIFA, the newest GTA and the newest CoD :lol: Would love a change.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Definitely look into it it's the best game I've played, I'm sure alot on here will tell you the same. The online is brilliant too, it's slower paced than COD (a good thing) and really tense and tactical.

There are a lot of great games to choose from but ultimately it comes down to your personal preference. The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Watchdogs, Rayman Legends are some of my favorites.

If you haven't played TLOU or Tomb Raider I'd suggest you start with one of them. TLOU also has multiplayer which some people really enjoy and others don't. Again it's a matter of preference, but the single player has one of the best stories in any game I've ever played.
 
I looked up reviews and videos on on The Last Of Us, definitely going to get it! Looks fantastic! Not a big fan of the whole zombie thing usually but I like the twists they've put on it. Thanks for the suggestions.

Also, I heard that if you trade in FIFA 14 on ps3 you only pay like a tenner for FIFA 14 on ps4, I'm guessing any kind of deal like that is long gone?

If you want to highlight graphics then nothing works better than inFamous, if you want a genuinely great game with storyline then TLOU is your pick. If you want something fun to play then I reckon Wolfenstein. If you want sports game then NBA 2k14, MLB and FIFA are all very good. Also, AC4 is very good. Metro Redux is good and I enjoyed Watch Dogs a lot, great city, decent story and graphics and fun gameplay. Pick up Destiny in two weeks too.

Get DriveClub for your girl when it's out.
 
I did a really shitty thing the other day, I sold FIFA14 at CEX for some beer money. My son comes back on Sunday and he's going to be pissed off.

I have an excuse though.... "look, it's your birthday on the 12th of October, don't you want FIFA15? Come on, let's go and buy 14 back...", and "You've got FIFA14 on the VITA and PES13 on the PS3, what are you moaning about?".

I traded my FIFA in at CEX the other day too, mainly because I knew the value would drop through the floor once 15 is out. God it stinks in there though.

£29 store credit, they actually reduced it the day after I traded it so I was lucky. I'll use it to feed my blu-ray habbit, can't beat those CEX prices for movies once they have been out a while.
 
Yeah I traded it in the other day too and picked up Diablo III, my thinking was also the value of it in a few weeks, plus yeah, fifa 14 will never be played again once 15 is out.

Thing is though Weaste, it was mine to sell, not my sons you evil sod. He might not mind though. Sure he has something else to keep him occupied in the mean time.
