Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

Driveclub not even coming this year is a possibility it appears. -_- Gran Turismo 7 will end up out before it at this rate.
This is ridiculous, there's no good racing game for PS4 and if it's true then there won't be one for a good while.

Pretty sure it's a misunderstanding and it'll be coming in the next few months.

They have delayed it enough though, should have been released around Q1 this year and it seems it won't be until late Q2 or even Q3.

It looks like there definitely was a lot of work still to be done. While the delays are disappointing, I think the severity (its not just a month or two) indicates major flaws. So it follows that without significant delay, the game would probably release with serious issues and not be worth playing anyways. It's a bummer certainly, but I'd rather them delay it and release an enjoyable game than rush it out the door in an incomplete state.

What they should do though is be very clear about the severity of the issues. Rather than saying "Oh there's still a bit of work left, delayed till Q1", then come Q1 say "Oh we've had to go back and reevaluate some stuff, further delay" and so on, I'd prefer if they just admitted the game had serious problems and they've no idea when it might be ready.

I played it at the Eurogamer Expo last year, didn't think much of it really.

If it came out at release, there still wouldn't be a good racing game for the PS4....

Need for Speed Rivals was quite good mind?

It's decent but then again I prefer games that offer variety when it comes to cars you pick, not just supercars. Drive Club won't solve that problem. I could get Forza 5 but I'd have to get a One for that.

Looks great, can't wait!

Looks cool, disappointed that the story seems to be 'black and white' again. I'd rather games take a mass effect approach where you make decisions based on what you would do rather than picking one route at the start and sticking with it for the rest of the game.

Seems a slight more variety in it though. Seems like you can go one way, but influence the other characters to go one or the other still.

Another one on my list, on a side note; have any of you used the share feature yet?

Nope, you can only share it on Facebook atm which is a bit rubbish and not something I'll ever do.
Ditto, wouldn't it make more sense to share to youtube? or some over video site...

I honestly feel like Sony are holding back features......well perhaps not holding back, but baking them some more. I mean 4 months on, we still don't have any updates on 3D support, DLNA etc, nothing much more in terms of exclusives to come and no release dates on games we already know about. Yet the thing is flying off the shelves (Japan is a lost cause for consoles), they can afford to go at their own pace.

Infamous in a week, GDC around the corner with the VR headset pretty much nailed on to make a showing. E3 not that long after that, I think all is well so far.

I'm not gonna look, but to anyone who does... give general feedback on:

gameplay
graphics
story
scope

Hopefully infamous doesn't have some bullshit 'review embargo' which makes them all pointless as once the game is out I trust user opinion a lot more. I'll preorder if it looks like it's getting well received and not a floppage ala thief.

gameplay

Gameplay: Looked very fluid. There's one combat scenario towards the end that looked like a lot of fun. The movement is very fast. Hard to tell much else, but if the powers are well designed then it looks like you'll be able to link attacks and wreak an insane amount of havoc. Difficult to tell much really, a good chunk of that was cutscenes and those quasi tutorial things that teach you the basic mechanics.

Graphics: Once again a bit difficult to tell because of the video quality. But the character movement, facial animation, physics, lighting etc all looked superb. No doubt in my mind that its going to be an amazing looking game.

Not graphics related but it sounded very good. That goes for music and effects.

Story: Not much in it, just sets up a bit of protagonist backstory and introduces what I'm assuming to be the central conflict and main villain. I will say that playing a Native American character has me excited, I didn't realize that was the case in trailers and what not. It's not a big deal, but as a visible minority I've always found playing as "generic white guy" to be a bit tiresome. Nice to see some variety that way and I hope the story incorporates his cultural background a bit.

Looks like there could be an X-men type vibe (mutants and humans at odds) which is intriguing. I haven't played the previous games, but there was a binary moral choice at the end of the video. Not sure how much those affected the story in past inFamous games but I'm guessing it'll be similarly important/not important for this one.

Not too sure what you mean by scope..

Can't wait until Naughty Dog show up. People always wondered what they could do with a decent GPU and RAM, and they're soon going to find out, even if they are saying that the 5GB directly available to games is easy to fill up (and 1GB I believe is available through OS calls, so malloc() and free() - not ideal)......

Doubt we'll see that new Uncharted until Fall 2015 at the absolute earliest. That Amy Henning or whatever her name is leaving doesn't sound good to me though, wasn't she just about the most important person involved in that franchise?

But yes regardless, Naughty Dog will leave jaws hanging with their first ps4 game.

Also I just watched a Watch_Dogs preview after the inFamous vid....there's no comparison. inFamous is on another planet. (obligatory "it's shit youtube quality so can't be certain")

She was the main writer and creative director (not game director) for all three games, so yes, she was important in terms of the lore and characters, but it's been yonks since Uncharted 3 was finished, I expect that the whole base of the next one in terms of story and characters is done if not polished, but Druckman can finish that off.

Everything about this game looks really polished, which is mighty impressive for a launch window title. The lighting is especially impressive, even before you get to the neon power lights, shadows and just the general streets with puddles from rain look really nice.

I just really hope its fun to play.

How well did the old Infamous games sell? Seems like this is one of those franchises that will benefit from the nee console and perhaps sell better than it would on PS3.

I havent played the others yet this is the game I want a PS4 for.

Hoping that the game plays/controls well on Vita in which case ill buy it for my step dads PS4.

Sold OK, obviously well enough for them to get two games on the last gen from it. I don't think it was actually pushed that much by Sony, despite them being great games imho.

Think it'll benefit from a new audience being in the launch window with not much competition. A lot more focus on this one unlike the other two. Hopefully this does well, they are great games and SuckerPunch are a great studio.

There were rumours of them doing one for Vita a while back. I'd love that.

Would Sony want a top studio working on Vita over PS4 though.. especially if Second Son sells well.

I guess another studio could have a bash at it.

That studio is currently doing a Sly Collection, remastering the PS2 games for VITA.

Iv'e not actually touched a Vita, but InFamous works because of the open world nature of the games. Not sure how that would translate to a VITA title.

Just bought a PS4 with Fifa and a years PSN, impressed so far I can't wait for Infamous next week.

Meh wtf is wrong with Fifa 14 online, I'm winning the matches then the opponent leaves game and I get 0 points....just happened in a cap game as well, I was 2-1 up when it said ''nobody is controlling your player'' before being booted to the score screen and given a 3-0 loss.
