The cost if my PC is irrelevant.
The point is, current gen titles should be eaten up by the "new" console technology but it's not, the technology is limping along at frame rates just considered acceptable.
My PC is knocking out BF4 at around 90fps and it's not an optimised gaming machine by industry standards it's just a PC that runs games through Windows.
The point I am making is what happens in 5 or 6 years if the Xbox can only play current gen games at 30fps.
The cost is relevant because if it's too expensive people won't buy it. It's also relevant that you cannot put your PC in a box the size of a PS4. I'd also love to see what type of power draw, heat, and noise comes out of your PC. As for a current gen title, here are some benchmarks for PCs running Tombraider - as you say a current gen title, not even at 1080p!

Also @Pexbo, the game might be an enhanced version of a current-gen game, but that's half of the problem, and it's a problem that the PS3 faced. Many games on PC on the CPU level rely on really powerful but few cores. The CPU in both XBone and PS4 can't compete with them on single threaded code. They can't even compete with the 3 core CPU in the XB360, so entire engines have to be re-written to use all 8 cores (well 6 in the case of the XBone). Any developer (which the PS4 version of this game is - they did the PS3 port) that is used to working on the PS3 will have no problem with this, the XBone version of this is done by a different developer that might not be as proficient with things such as that. It depends on how CPU dependent a game is or not.
So Playstation Now was originally assumed to launch in Canada at the same time as the US this summer, based on an interview with John Koller, Sony VP Marketing. Today Sony have apparently backtracked on that, saying Koller was misunderstood and the service won't launch in the summer. Sony now says "The company has no current plans to bring Playstation Now to Canada, although the service may launch sometime in the future".

Look at the bloody quality settings though. The PS4 wouldn't perform amazingly well either.
Fact is it is pretty mid-level. Good price yes, but nothing amazing. If it wasn't for them taking a hit on the memory speed, it'd be pretty poor no?
There is no MSAA or SSAA going on there (simple post processing AA), but anyway, the CPU is a load of bollocks, we agree on that. But what GPU do you think you could put into the PS4's form factor and get away with it in terms of the power draw and thermals? The memory speed was downgraded from the original design to my understanding (by quite a bit), the number of ROPs the PS4 GPU has is overkill in relation to the bandwidth, but Sony have put that down to removing bottlenecks. Maybe it's not overkill in the end though, as we can see in comparison to the Xbone, and that's all we really need to compare the PS4 to at the minute. Most people that play games on a PC do not have anything near the horsepower the PS4 does. A select few do, but the mass market do not, and the PC market is shrinking rapidly (the desktop market is going downhill like an Olympic skier) - which is why we see Intel scrambling to get into the mobile space.

Everquest Next is coming to the PS4, that's a big deal for me. With Final Fantasy, Elder Scrolls Online (been in closed beta....it's wank tbh) and Everquest Next coming out it's nice to see consoles getting some big MMO titles.

Just got the error that can cause save game corruption on lego marvel, luckily it hasn't corrupted it, Ive put 40 hours into the game trying to platinum it and I'm not too far off

Depends what you are waiting for, if its a price drop it won't be getting one for a long time, if its games you could wait until Infamous and Driveclub are closer.
Im waiting for a better library of games as well as for then to sort out any issues that usually arise on the first iteration of these consoles. I had wanted to put a purchase off until the new batch of football gamea arrive around august but I recently won an ipad and am thinking of selling it to get this since I already own an ipad.
They're right it just looks like a ps3 game. Pretty unimpressed.

I don't think there's anything out just yet which is utterly groundbreaking. The visual aspects have improved somewhat but I haven't yet played a game which has really sucked me in and hooked me.
It all rests upon when Naughty Dog is going to say hello.
I couldn't wait any longer... so I got ps4/vita yesterday. Bf4, Killzone will keep me busy until the big games drop and ps+ has some decent stuff on it.

There's a really limited selection of apps, I could really do with one to watch TV. You'd think virgin go would be on there at least with their apparent deal they had together.

Also, why the big fuss over infamous anyway? I played the 2nd and found it average if I'm honest. Did it even have a story? Gameplay was pretty repetitive too. There's a lot of hype for the new one and I can't understand it :s

It's a sort of middle of the road franchise that hasn't really done anything special to this point. I think the hype stems from the graphics and the fact they have taken a new direction with the series because the previous two although decent games ultimately were dissapointing.
This one is more open world I think, and open world games always seem to get hyped. As for your comment on the graphics not looking as good as in the video, have you played Killzone on the PS4 yet? that looks just as good, if not better, even if it's a shit game.
I really liked the first one, thought it was a quality game, and a lot of fun, but to be honest, I can't say I remember the story too much now, just fecking shit up with his powers.
Not yet, grabbing a ps4 this weekend if I can find any in stock round here.
Thing is we seen killzone gameplay looking sexy, the gameplay of second son hasn't looked anywhere near as good as the video above.
Thought both the first two InFamous games were awesome. First was great, but did get repetitive and then you play the 2nd one and it was a step up in quality in every way.
Lightning is so much cooler than fire 
The lightning could have been done better in number 2. The fire/smoke looks well implemented. Plus can't you gain abilities from others throughout this? I think it'll be something I buy when it goes platinum.
I would blame Sony and their lack of pushing and advertisement that infamous is not a bigger named game.

To put it bluntly, this one looks a lot better than the first two. Or at least it does in trailers. And of course a big part is its one of the first games that truly looks "next gen" graphically. Which you could also say about Killzone and Ryse, but this imo looks a step up. And much more fun to play.
Didn't like infamous 1 and 2. Don't get why it's rated so well.
