Players you had forgotten existed

It probably has been said before, but this thread would get a lot more interesting if you would not randomly post a name but what actually remembered you of someones existence.

Agreed! If they popped up somewhere in the media, let us know so we can check it out. Or spread the news as to what they're doing now.

If it's some random reminisicing of something they did on the pitch or how good they were then let us know and jog our memories too or better still post a clip/video.

Otherwise it's just a pointless list of names.

Was a transfer tweet today or yesterday about Oscar moving to the MLS. Had forgotten all about him and that he still played football.

also, Dmitri Kharine
Lauren who played for Arsenal
Stéphane Guivarc'h
Emile Mpenza

James Rodriguez, just seen he's got the most ever assists at a single copa America this year and I have no idea who he plays for now. Now that his name has been brought to my mind I can remember him at Everton, but I thought he retired when he left.

He was only 30 when he left Everton. According to wiki he's since had a year in Qatar, a year at Olympiacos, a year at Sao Paulo, and now he's back in Spain with Rayo Vallecano.

Such a weird career, he was a decent upcoming player before he went to Madrid and just fell to pieces ever since going there.

I did have another submission for this thread brought to mind the other day, but typically I've forgotten them again :lol

Jay Emmanuel Thomas - drug busted at Stanstead. Trying to get it out on a JET plane.

Morton contract terminated!

Stefan Effenberg, he always played a blinder against us.

Mehmet Scholl , see above.

Bayern in that era were a pain in the ass to play against!

Maxi López. He played with some top players both at Barca and Milan.

Bordon
Howedes
Bordon was a brilliant centre-half, physical and imposing. Remember I always thought he was tailor-made for the Prem

On the same note, Kevin Kuraniy and Amauri are two other forgotten brazilians (all though they played international football for Germany and Italy) around the same time who were linked to the PL every summer

Ezquerro, ex Bilbao and Barca winger. forever on the bench, also impossible to get rid of on FM. even Bilbao that can't buy anyone non Basque wouldn't take him for free.

Omar Richards

Not sure I'd ever heard of him in all honesty. Was looking at transfers that didn't work out / wastes of money and stumbled upon his name.

Signed for Bayern Munich on a free transfer from Reading in 2021. Made 17 appearances for them, picking up a Bundesliga and DFL Supercup medal.

The following summer Forest buy him for 8.5m and he's yet to play for them. He had injuries his first season there apparently but there doesn't look like much of a pathway to their first team.

Loaned out to Olympiacos in 23/24 when they won the Conference League and got another medal for that, making 3 appearances in the tournament and 10 in the league.

Now on loan with Rio Ave in Portugal for the season.

Wissam Ben Yedder.

The guy who scored the 2 at Old Trafford for Sevilla to knock Utd out of the CL and was also at one point linked with a move to Utd.

Well, he's possibly looking at some jail time for sexual assualt.
