Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang| ESPN: Move to PSG very close

Aubameyang isn't at the level of Bale and Ronaldo. He isn't worth that amount imo. Having said that it's completely understandable why Dortmund would want such a high fee for a star player they don't want to lose.

People are way too hung up about the size of the fee on here. The likelihood of a transfer of Aubameyang will primarily depend on other factors and not just money. The moment one of Hummels, Mkhitaryan or Gündogan decide to leave the club (which is pretty likely in the last case) shuts the door for this potential transfer.

We simply won´t let more than one key player go as long as we can prevent it and in Auba´s case we can.

Why d'you think that?

I think he's quicker, has a better touch, potentially stronger, potentially more tricks in his locker.. great attitude - looks the complete professional at this moment in time, excellent passer. It might seem a outlandish statement but for me Suarez never had Ballon D'or winning potential.. he had the potential to be the best 9 in the world though and he is living up to that reputation. He lacks that extra % of class to be the BPITW though and is true even if he played in a different era i.e. he isn't no Ronaldo or Van Basten etc.

For me Martial is one of those once in a generation talents, someone who could redefine the game. I think he's already better than a young Cristiano Ronaldo and seeing as I absolutely adored Ronaldo, I don't say that lightly. He is super special. It is all potential though.. he himself has to keep building his game and staying hungry because the world is truly his oyster.

Where and how do you play PEA, with Rooney and Martial?
Right forward? or center forward while shifting Rooney slightly to the right? Rooney does not belong in a #10 position.

A front three with the option to roam would be best suited for those three, like when Tevez, Ronaldo and Rooney were playing together.

I disagree with most of that but at this point it's speculation and opinion anyway, but I would like to add that we share the excitement of watching Martial develop.

Calm down. He's currently being outperformed by Dele Alli who is even a bit younger. Is Alli super special as well? If he reaches Suarez' level I'd be happy. I can't see it though.

Put things into perspective, Alli is doing freat but he's in probably the best team in the PL at the moment (based on last lets say 15 matches) with attackers and players around him that all have hit form and he's performing really really well along with them. Martial plays in an absolute crap team where almost weekly he's the only one that can pull of things, make things happens while the other top class players feel miserably under a really poor manager. If he played at Spurs or Arsenal, I'd expect him to do even much better, and Alli to be significantly worse if he was here at United. Anyway, I dont think Martial will redefine the game and rate both Martial and Alli very highly, great talents that will be the best in their position in the PL soon enough.

Not sure about that. Both fantastic players, but I wouldn't swap.

£70m was the rumour on Sunday (I think), £60m today.

If we wait till the end of the week, we'll get a bargain deal.

Why weren't we in for him when he was at Saint Etienne? He was pretty well known player if i remember rightly, then Dortmund just came in and nabbed him for peanuts.

Sure, just surprised it's not Neymar being linked this time.

"I promised my grandfather I'd play for Real Madrid"

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of the biggest stars in the Bundesliga, where he is banging goals in for fun for Borussia Dortmund, and has established himself as one of the most sought-after players in world football.

Suitors are lining up to try to lure the striker, but the Gabon international's heart is set on a move to the Bernabéu, if this is possible. "What was my childhood dream? To play for Real Madrid. In 2010, before the death of my grandfather, who was from Ávila [near Madrid], I promised him I'd play for them", Aubameyang told L'Équipe Magazine.

As previously revealed in a MARCA report, Aubameyang's family on his Spanish mum's side are all big 'Los Blancos' fans, a fact which tugs at his heartstrings: "It could be difficult [for a deal with Real Madrid to materialise], but I keep it in mind. When I was a kid I saw videos of Hugo Sánchez. The backward somersault I sometimes do to celebrate scoring goals is actually a tribute to him. Playing for Real Madrid would also be a great gift for my mother, Margarita".

You never know, but once he would tear the league apart for us for example, they would chase him down. For that price they wont buy him currently.

I'm picturing this deathbed promise like the Luke and Yoda scene in ROTJ, we need to steer clear.

Mail has again said we are pushing ahead with this and also getting a DOF

If we were to spend 100m euros on a forward, I'd bid for Dybala instead.

I also prefer Dybala. But I cannot see a top talent like him join us in the summer. At least not now.

Playing well so far but tbf Spurs haven't put up a very good defensive display at all either.

Great jump and header for the goal, otherwise I don't think he's been great, quietest of Dortmunds attacking players.

He's Joses type of center forward
Unfortunately, I see Cavani more as Mourinho's type of striker. He likes experienced target strikers. Also I can see Aubameyang staying at Dortmund or going to Madrid if they can't sign Lewandowski.

I have a feeling that the Bundesliga could be the best realistic source of talent for us in the summer. Sadly, we missed out on Firminio who has looked a class above Depay.

Meh, not impressed by Firmino so far though.

He was injured / not 100% when he first went there. Scored 1 in 3 in the Bundesliga (don't quote me Depay's record in Holland, that is irrelevant) and has looked very good this year - top scorer in PL this calendar year I reckon (I haven't checked this!)

Why did he get regular playtime then?
