thats too funny

so theyre saying its 16million to talk to someone? and if that talk goes well and leads to other things its more than 16 million.

usually those sort of negotiations only happen in nightclubs in asia.

I have no doubts he will be signing for us IF he wants to play for us. Bearing in mind he has had his chances with other teams, I think we can safely assume it is in the bag. He wouldn't have gone down the road of having a medical if he didn't want to play for us.

It wouldn't matter one jot if they had a better offer from somebody else, he goes where he wants. Legally, if this went before a Judge, the Judge would question why they didn't value the release clause at a value they deemed appropriate, when they amended his contract in February of this year.

It is all total bollocks and he will be at OT next year.

Im no football expert but I've never heard about the 'just talking' minimum clause.

Before we all go off on (possibly xenophobic) rants about Blackburn's owners (and I'm a wee bit guilty of this myself) we should bare in mind that this whole "refusing to accept the buy-out clause" could be just as much of a load of old bollox as the "failed his medical" rumour doing the rounds a couple of days ago.

This does sound like it has more credence (been reported by the Times for example) as opposed to the failed medical stuff. But I agree yes we should probably wait before continuing to lambast the idiotic boggle-eyed chicken farmers.

bear not bare though surely?

I'm all for lambasting them with unsubstantiated rumours if it helps get this deal sorted out and announced.

Gone on too long now. :)

I can see two possible conclusions to this story

a) the news is false. SAF is kind of fecking the media by signing all his players early and they are trying to maximise their profit by inventing such stories

b) Blackburn are pissed off of losing such talent to us for 16m and they are trying to get as much money out of the deal as they can.

What I can't understand is why we look set of signing 3 players (rumors say that 2 have already done medical tests) and yet none of them has been yet unveiled. Im no financial expert but could it be the case that the club has yet to give the go ahead for these transfers to pass through?

The faked Blackburn owners' Twitter account bloody fooled me. I can't remember the Tweets exactly, but one of 'em was something like 'free chicken with every season ticket'.

Sacking Sam Allerdyce and replacing him with Steve Kean, someone with no experience and will do what they say.
Openly trying to sign Ronaldinho in public, which was fairly humiliating... and now this. They are a joke.

Owners in sacking their club managers, shocker.

Abramovich sacked Mourinho, and hired Grant in place. Newcastle fired Hughton and hired Pardew as their manager, While WHU Owners made Grant their manager.

That Ronaldinho thing was a bit embarrassing, I agree.

I still can't understand why this Jones thing is such a humiliating thing, they're entitled to ask for any money they want if they think there is a possibility of doing it.

I'm not defending them, but there is a tone of xenophobia regarding these owners which is irritating.

Great comparisons... you just picked out the two dodgiest wankstains of owners in the league... good job.

Abramovich is a joke, Mike Ashley is a joke, the nobs at Blackburn are obviously a fecking joke.

You have to admit that sacking Big Sam and replacing him with Steve Kean is a shocking decision whatever way you look at it.

There are differences though and its not as if the examples you've mentioned haven't gotten stick for their decisions either. Grant replacing Mourinho was the worst but that decision was laughed at at the time. Grant may have not been the best decision by West Ham either but it's not as though they fired a successful and experienced manager to hire him.

Many people thought firing Hughton was unfair at the time which it was, however they replaced him with another experienced manager who went on to have a good season with them.

In contrast Blackburn owners came in, fired Allardyce who had saved them from almost certain relegation the previous season and had them in a solid mid table spot at the time of his sacking. They also fired his assistant manager and then hired Steve Kean who had been first team coach and had no managerial experience.

He said they're the worst owners since Portsmouth, and I was just merely pointing out there are several worse owners(Not Abramovich obviously)

Reading the whole post would actually help sometimes.

I said it was a retarded decision it my earlier post mate.

This, De Gea, Young and Wesley could just be on hold until Sir Alex returns from his well earned rest in the south of France. Thats what I'm clinging to anyway :)

Well firing the Best manager in the history of your club and replacing it with a Director of Football is arguably a more retarded decision.

Again guys I'm not disputing that sacking Big Sam wasn't a retarded decision, however I'm finding it funny that they're being a called a joke on the basis of this transfer news regarding Jones.

Blackburn have really become a joke club. Worst owners in the Premier League since Portsmouth.

Its stupid, because they have a player that doesn't want to play for them anymore. He obviously thinks that he's signed for United and likely to be PISSED at them for fecking him over. That's not really adding to his transfer value.

They are damaging the clubs reputation with all the other premier league clubs who believed that the release clause was an actual release clause.
Other clubs will look at that and question whether the owners are actually trustworthy. Plus If they are going to try and hold United to ransom will we really want to deal with them in a positive way again? ie loaning players to the club.

This is as well as being a joke for hiring Steve Kean because he will do what they say, and trying to sign Ronaldinho.

Where have I said anything that's xenophobic? What I said was exaggerated in the emotional situation of my club being fecked around with by them, but was not related AT ALL to where they are from.

If I was being serious, WHU owners have been worse than them. That doesn't mean that they are particularly great.

The Blackburn owners sacked Allerdyce because they wanted to finish in the top half of the table.. and brought in Kean.. Openly saying that they want to finish top half this season, then top six next year is pretty silly in itself. Replacing a manager that has had success at a smaller club and replacing him with Kean is almost suicide.

Grant whether you like to admit it or not was fairly successful at Chelsea and was one slip away from doing something no other manager of a London side has ever done. WHU owners wanted O'Neill but had to settle for grant.

Re: Jones. It is amateurish to have a clause in a contract that is pointless, then let the club and the player go through the medical agree terms etc and after it all turn around and say more money please. They should play it straight, especially with a club that hasn't fecked them over.. in fact loaned them a player for free last year.

Stinks of holding another club hostage and how do you think the player will feel about getting dicked? How do you think the other clubs will react to Blackburns owners being deceptive? How do you think the players of the club will react to seeing one of their friends being treated like this? On top of the embarrassing comments about Ronaldinho and finishing top half then top six, without any significant investment

Nah I wasn't saying that your post is Xenophobic. I'm not even keen on defending them. Just that every time there is a mention of the Venky's, there is a xenophobic tone(not restricted to this thread only) which is irritating.

It's no worse than the borderline xenophobia that the American owners have been given in the Premiership. Yanks Out?

It's what happens with dodgy foreign owners. Especially when they look as dodgy as those Indian chicken people.
