Unfortunately this is what I thought too. Something we don't know there, for sure.

Fact is he's been a largely terrible signing and it was a bad decision to renew his contract. Any other competent club would have got rid years ago. We are happy to be critical of every other player who has played for United, so I see no reason to treat Jones any differently just because he's constantly injured, as if he wants or needs our pity. Being critical of Jones the footballer doesn't mean anyone hates the man or harbours anger towards him. Obviously we all wish him the best when he leaves the club

Wouldn't say he's been a terrible signing. He played a lot for us in the past and was overa worth the money paid. We shouldnt have renewed his contract but he used to be a reliable player
 
Must have been true that he's been bumped out of the 1st team outfit. He wasn't talking like he was part of that at all.
 
Did they comment at all on the weirdness of a current United player doing punditry rather than being part of the celebrations or was it just the elephant in the room?

If I recall correctly didn’t Darren Fletcher do similar back in the day
 
What is his actual role as I’m confused. Is he now on the coaching team?

He really doesn’t look very well
 
Really feel for him. He must be thinking how he could be a part of all this but he's an outcast at the club due to no one's fault.

Anyone who gives him shite because he makes money probably never done anything worthwhile in their life and so are jealous of anyone with talent and opportunities.

This is my guess. Crying shame if that's the case, I'm sure we've all been guilty of it but he doesn't deserve half the flack he gets.
 
Hope he's all good mentally. It wasn't a bad appearance as a pundit considering it's his first go at it.

I think it's great. Fletcher did the same when he was suffering from his horrible medical condition. I've been in an arguably worse position and getting back to some form of normalcy is an important part of the recovery process. Mentally and physically.

I wouldn’t go that far. Top level sport is cut-throat but somehow he’s survived so long getting paid a fortune for contributing absolutely nothing. I wish him all the best but in reality he’s been afforded a hell of a lot of leeway.
 
The hate or annoyance directed at Jones is one person's fault and that is the one who sat an injury prone player down and gave him another contract. He should have been cut loose.
 
Certainly looks a bit pale and frail.
Obviously trying to get a bit of punditry work going, but very clear he's just seeing his United time out now in the background.

It did seem odd at the time. But many would have done the same for Shaw and Martial at times. It's not always as clear cut. Clubs like to keep players on the books as assets for different reasons.
 
Thought he looked good, and did ok.

I assume he's looking trim because he's still training, and he's a Lancashire boy so he's bound to be pale.

Read that he’s got a blood disorder that’s causing clots. Poor lad can’t catch a bit of luck
