PGA and European Tour Golf 2015

If Spieth gets up and down on 17 here I fully expect him to birdie 18 and take the win.

Louis dropping that putt made me a nice few k. Cashed out now as my nerves can't take it.

Couldn't Spieth's caddy have been on the green to pull the flagstick on that shot that bounced off of it? Or do you have to already be on the green to do that?

When did that happen? I must've missed that. Pretty sure there's no rule against it though.

Somewhere in the middle of the round. Chipped it over a little mound straight to the flagstick and bounced off of it. Camera showed him saying it would've been in if not for the flagstick.

He still could've done better on 18 off the tee and there's that 4-put to regret as well, but if that shot goes in he might still be playing.

The only rule regarding the flagstick is that it must be out if you're playing on the green, which is why caddies will 'attend' the flag for long shots where the player may not be able to see the hole clearly enough when putting.

If you hit the flagstick when putting on the green its a 2 stroke penalty.

If Spieth had asked his caddy to attend the flag and remove it after he'd hit a shot from off the green that would have been legal, but you'd never do it.

It's all well and good saying it would have dropped without the flagstick being there but there's just no way you'd ever anticipate that, unless maybe you were playing a chip and run from the fringe or something.

How far off the green was he?

Just off of it, behind a ridge. It would have been unusual I know, but I realized I didn't understand the rule exactly when thinking about it.

Commentators also mentioned the flagsticks there are a bit thick (I'm guessing due to the wind?).

I didn't know that but I guess it kinda makes sense. Like @Scrumpet said though you'd expect that to help, without hitting the pin it could have run miles past.

The assholes in the crowd who have shouted stuff out should be hit in the face with bricks.

Or get all the professionals in a line with the drivers? Caddys lining up the balls quickly for efficiency.

There were a few times you could've mistaken the crowd for an American golf audience.

Actually no, it wasn't that bad...
As annoying as "get in the hole" is on a par 5 tee shot, I'm talking about before shots as players are addressing the ball, happened a few times. As well as camera shutters going off.

If you shout out 'in the hole' at the tee of a par 4 or 5, your life should just be ended immediately...

the balls on Louis if he holes this.. I'm shitting my pants just watching

Anybody watching the Canadian open? Hadwin 2 shots off the lead, and Hearn is leading. Would be nice to see a Canadian win it.

Only time to care about women´s golf for me is the Solheim Cup and as opposed to the CL/EL the only Europeans that don´t stink are the English girls.
