PGA and European Tour Golf 2015

Anyone watching the Solheim Cup?

I always thought the line 'half way's for ladies' when you left a putt miles short was just a stupid joke but Christ there's loads of them leaving putts absolutely miles away.

That Kerr is some b*tch. Takes one club length drop from the mud into the deeper rough, doesn´t like that either, so takes another club length till she is practically back on the fairway. Then stiffs it on the 17th to win their foursome 2&1. (Does the same on another hole). Now she called off the match on the 18th for darkness without even telling the Europeans. She so mad that Reid made a huge birdie on 16 to pull one back and then Ciganda sank one from 150 away to get it back to AS. Gosh I hope Reid/Ciganda win that match-up tomorrow. Would be sweet.

4-2 Europe with one AS/17 and Eur 1up/15.

Spieth is ridiculous with a putter in his hand.

Stenson is such a top bloke; they're fighting it out for $11.5m and Jordan rolls in a crazy long putt to increase his lead and yet Henrik gives him a fist bump as he goes to collect his ball.

You not watching this @langster?

Unfortunately not mate, had to work tonight, came upstairs to see Spieth crowned champion :( Gutted as I really wanted Henrick to win. Fair play to Spieth though, no denying the lads talent.

I went out and spoiled myself with a nice new set of custom fit irons, a new bag and a new pair of shoes, and played in my pub's society day on Friday. I had probably the worst feckin round of my life, seriously. Was like I had never played the game before. I think I hit 2 decent drives, 3 decent iron shots, a couple of nice chips and one decent putt all day. Scored a whopping 6 points. Seriously embarrassing :( I was gutted. Still am to be fair.

They were both brilliant, Stenson is a fantastic pro and a great great guy, he and Spieth seem to have a real solid friendship. It was really nice seeing him fist bump Jordan when he made that crazy putt, just great stuff that you only really see in golf.

It's probably just getting used to the new clubs, nice work on spoiling yourself though!!

I'm desperate for a Nike Vapor Pro Driver but can't bring myself to spend the money!

Yeah, that is nice. Fair play to Jordan, he's had one hell of a season, and his personality is finally starting to come through. I love the way he chunters at himself and the ball, all the time while his shot is in the air. I think Rory has some serious competition now, and with Jason Day and Ricky Fowler finally showing some decent form, next year could be amazing.

Yeah, you're right, I definitely struggled as the clubs are so different. I've gone from a complete beginners set (Nicklaus golf, that I've had for about 15 years or so) to Taylor Made SLDR irons that were custom fit for me. But that doesn't explain my awful driving that was fine last month when I played. I reckon it's a lot down to me not playing enough, I only played 4 times this year, and haven't been playing regularly for about 9 years now. Now that the pub has its society back, I will be out monthly with them, and will make an extra effort to get out once a week. I'm off for some lessons next week for sure.

Those drivers look awesome! You can get it here for £200 now with the 20% discount they are offering off everything! Gutted as I only bought my irons from them last week before the sale. FFS! But I got them nearly half price anyway, so not too upset.

A lad I played with back in the day had a set of Nicklaus bear irons, they were pretty nice tbh.

You sound like you're similar to me in terms of time playing and how long since regular play.

I'm still playing a set of Callaway X-12 pro series irons but I love them to be honest and I'm still happy with them. I just need a driver to replace my Steelhead Plus, technology on drivers has moved on so much I'm missing out on a huge number of yards.

American Golf have it for £230 at the moment, which would be tempting if we weren't going away in six weeks, I'm squirrelling away every penny.

Yeah, I love my Nicklaus irons, but they were cheap and cheerful and a beginners set. When I was playing regularly (5 times a week) I was going to get a better set, but just couldn't afford them and when I could, I just put it off. I didn't realise how long it was since I had been playing regularly until I sat and worked it out and was pretty shocked. I was playing at a lovely standard too (not as good as you though) had my society handicap reduced to 18. Life gets in the way some times.

That Nike Vapour does look like a really nice driver but I understand you not getting it yet. Maybe you could drop a nice hint just before Christmas? ;) Keep doing the washing up and cleaning, it can only help ;) Hope you have a nice time away. Where are you going?

Life definitely gets in the way, I mostly only play on work events or networking type things these days so pretty infrequent. Definitely need to try and get out there more often.

It is a beaut, expect it'll drop further in price too with the new one coming that Casey was using this weekend.

Ha, yea I'll ask Santa! We're off to Vegas so I might even try and pick one up there if I hit any winnings :)
