PGA and European Tour Golf 2015

I know what happened Jason Day scared everyone but can the commentators stop mentioning it every time he's on screen?
Oh look at the way he picked up the tee, didn't drop his head the whole way down as not to get a rush of blood coming back up.
Jesus focus on the golf

I had enough of Monty and the awful course conditions just after you posted that. I enjoy watching the golfers have a stern test, but when you chip a ball 5 ft from the hole and it rolls 50 yards away to an unplayable bunker or rough then it's taking the piss and being hard just for the sake of it. It's like watching myself play. Might put it on again a bit later.

This is excellent viewing and the course isn't too hard. The players know exactly where you can't go and where you have to be putting from. It's a hard but fair test. Zero sympathy for all the complainers, Rose complaining about having a tough bunker shot yesterday due to the fescue grass overhanging the bunker, well don't play a terrible shot into the back of the bunker.

Spieth is gone. Could play himself out of contention within the next few holes

Still all to Play for. 4-5 shots back coming into the final round isnt a bad thing. Although Spieth would be pissed with himself.

Don't think you can go into the final day 4 odd shots behind Dustin. The atrocious greens negates Spieth's greatest strength while forcing him to take Dustin on at his.

Winner could come from miles behind tomorrow, if the course plays firm for the late starters then the best score could be -2, opens it up for anyone at +3 to go shoot 65 in decent conditions.

The idiots of the USGA are now making even bigger fools of themselves with their self-congratulatory back-slapping about the Chambers Bay course. If they got it so right why are people talking about the state of the course, not the players or the tournament?

Playing a US Open on this course is like playing the football World Cup Final on a ploughed field or the Wimbledon Mens Final on a court that hasn't been mown for 3 weeks. Just because "it's the same for everyone" it doesn't make it right or sensible.

The USGA, already famous for its ludicrous setup of US Open courses, has really outdone itself this time.

Whose worth thowing a tenner on to win? Just for some excitement when watching it later.

Dustin or Spieth I reckon, although I'd like to see Day win, he's done well, especially considering he's not been well. The trouble is, this course is filled with holes that will wreck your scorecard. I don't think there is a safe bet as anyone inside 7 shots could win this. It's perfectly plausible to imagine the leaders all drop a shot or two and someone else shoot a 65.

I've lost access to Sky for a week since Friday, are there any high quality streams available for this?

Can't you still use your Sky+ account and watch it like that on the laptop?
I've only ever used the in laws sky go account, but they've just cancelled their subscription so as to get a better deal as a 'new customer', without checking the timing with me, so inconsiderate getting in the way of my mooching.

We're getting our own subscription and everything installed next Saturday, but I'm obviously scuppered until then.

I went with oothisuesen or however you spell him. 22 to 1. What time do they last couple of pairs come out half ten?

I think it's 11pm because they tee off at 3PM PST which I think is 8 hours behind here.

Good shout at 22-1, what are the odds on a tie forcing them to play tomorrow? With 4 joint leaders it's not a bad shout.

Thanks. A playoff is 7-4 if that is what your after.

Got an e/w on Snedeker so hoping he can sneak in the top 5. Cheering for Day though, would be so amazing if he wins this.

I know this isn't really a golf tips thread, but I'm thinking of taking it up. Got a bit of instruction from a relative who is/used to be decent but nothing proper. Still in the "I can sort of hit the ball occasionally" stage. Is it worth going down to the driving range by myself and just hitting shots with an imperfect swing(increasing my skill/enjoyment very marginally, but potentially reinforcing bad habits) or should I pay for lessons (so friggin expensive) first before I even bother going to the driving range by myself.

Both. I'd definitely recommend the range AND lessons if you enjoy it and are serious about it. I'd also recommend 9 hole pitch and putt too.

Here's a good thread about it in the general forum.

Lessons will definitely help although they're obviously costly.

Best thing would be if you can get out and play some rounds with people who play to a good standard and can give you pointers.

The amount of dickheads shouting inane bollocks after someone has hit a drive is astonishing.

Rory going strong at -5, hilarious if he shoots a ridiculous score like -8 and wins.

I just had a big rant about this to the missus, who couldn't possibly be less interested.

"get in the HOOOOLE!!!!!!"

It's a par 5 you inbred wanker.
