So essentially PES is shit because it's too arcadey?

Or alternatively because it's trying to be too realistic?

They don't really go together, do they?
 
Well, two of those reviews are retarded. Admittedly I've only played the demo but it was far better than they're giving it credit for. Also that bloke obviously can't use through balls properly, as they are pretty hard to get right but they can be devastating.

If only they hadn't messed with the through-ball and made it devastatingly ineffective. What was once your greatest weapon has been rendered mildly useful at best, and calamitous at worst. For the majority of the time, through-balls just don't seem to reach their intended target, either getting intercepted or simply not landing where you wanted them to.

That bit there is just plain wrong. Unless they've somehow managed to implement through-balls perfectly in the demo and somehow feck them up completely in the final code. Which I doubt.
 
I'll still be getting it, as i have said i found the crappy demo more fun than fifa.

I've just read Videogamer's review in full.

Where the feck do they find these dummies?? Too busy swallowing Fifa's penis to play PES properly. Overall the difference in the average review scores is at 12. Fifa with 91 (:confused:) and PES at 79.
 
We should try to have a little redcafe tournament/league once we all have the game, for a bit of craic.

Konami have handed their servers over to Microsoft and Sony, so I see no reason why there wil be any lag issues.
 
The problem with all these poorer reviews is they all seem to spend half their time sucking Fifa's cock, and going on about it being amazing, which I know is bollocks because I've played it. So I can hardly trust the rest of the review when the half of it I know anything about, I already know is a load of incorrect bullshit.

Just gonna have to buy/rent it and see for myself me thinks.

I find it strange that they all say it's more fun to play yet punish it in the ratings for licences. It's always been like that. Why the sudden change now.
 
EA are probably being very friendly.

Plus the last two Pro Evo's have been a bit shite, and PES nerds have been slagging off PES for not being more perfect since before that.

That review is awful. "Lacked the thrills of PES 2009". What thrills exactly? It was one of the most infuriating football experiences I've ever had on a console.
 
So 2 of those 3 reviews say PES this year is good but not good enough again. Well done again Konami. Good thing I got FIFA this year. Not spending on this after wasting my money on the last 2 PES games.

I haven't realised anything since the game isn't even released yet.

Fifa is though, and it's not actually very good. So forgive me for ignoring the enforced opinion of anyone who tells me otherwise.
 
I'll be getting this, keep trying FIFA after all the hype, but I just can't get into it at all, don't know what it is, maybe it's just shite.
 
I said in the FIFA thread earlier, I played it for the first time in yonks at HMV earlier. I thought it was much better, much more Pro Evo like. Had it's good points and bad. I won't be changing any time soon, but they've certainly raised their standards
