'Pep' Guardiola sack watch

Has he had another post match meltdown?
Don't know if he had another meltdown, I did see him saying they were still the best though. That's some statement having won once in ten games.

Long may it continue.

Worth noting their next CL game is PSG away, who are fighting to stay in the competition. Their last game however, is against Club Brugge, who they should beat and stay in the CL by a slither.

Can't convince me that the supposed best manager in the world has his team balancing on one player, after all that money spent?

Christ on a bike, SAF pulled wins against top teams with a starting 11 you'd never expect to see in a kick about.

Pep, can only do it with money or messi, might aswell add Rodri too....

What you're seeing at City is a problem that has been at United for several years now. A sheer lack of athleticism in the middle and the inability to win the ball back in midfield and stop counters.

Awww, Pep is missing Rodri

Raul and Joel Matip is a top notch bit of unlikely teammate trivia.
The glory days of Schalke, when they still had the probably best academy in Germany and were able to sprinkle their team with some great names on top of that (Raul is still beloved by their fans). Look at them today, fighting against bankruptcy and relegation from the second Bundesliga...

Their attacking play has devolved into side ways passing, hoping their wingers pull something off and crosses into the box, serious lack of verticality.

I wouldn't go as far to say him staying would habe solved all their problems but had they kept Alvarez or brought in someone of a similar profile to spice things up I reckon they would have much more success compared to Haaland whom when not getting a whiff at a shot is akin to playing with 10 men.

 Fergie was an absolute magician. Rotating that much in a champions league semi final.

Was it Wolfsburg away Owen scored a hat trick with the most random line up ever?
People would just look at that and go "it's only Schalke" now, but, as @stefan92 said above, this was a very good period for Schalke.

Before our matches against them, they had just knocked out the reigning champions in Inter and a Valencia team that went toe-to-toe with us in the group stage.

Progressing through to the final was not a certainty, but Fergie still rotated and we still demolished them. Impressive stuff.

Is it just me or has the Sheik money dried up considerably post treble? They don’t seem to spend as much anymore as they used to.

Ah yes bronchitis is purely based on his skill level... for people who hate on Bluemoon and RAWK so much you guys don't half pull the same nonsesne out of yer holes.
Nonsense believing Foden is overhyped shit? Put your blue tinted glasses down and look at his performances. If he would be available for free I wouldn't want him near United. He has some talent but very low footballing IQ. But is in no way shape or form anything near the level media tried to portray him. Could be a one season wonder for all it's worth.

To be fair, every manager would. As far as I know Rodri is the only footballer in the history of the game who has never lost a game, apart from the games he lost.
Spain left him on the bench for the 2nd half against England in the final i think

Bit early to be drinking isn't it?

What have I just read?

Are you joking or something?

I'm convinced Pep was scarred by the CL final vs Chelsea where they were nullified and resorted to lobbing balls into the box for Aguero and Jesus. So he brought in Haaland to offer something different and now they've gone so far the other way, that Haaland has made them one dimensional.

This is nonsense

Surely if he loses to United he is gone?
No he isn't. They could finish outside of top 10 and he still would be there.
He really should have left after last season. The inevitable collapse would then happen under someone else and everyone would have kept singing praises for him.

His latest excuse is that "no club can play without the Ballon D'or winner and the best player in England."

Even though the other 19 teams in the Premiership have to.

I think Foden is overrated but saying you wouldn't take him as a free transfer is wild.

Anyway, there's a separate thread for that discussion. To circle back to Pep, some interesting comments from him on the shortage of defenders for Sunday:
"I don't know. I don't know what I have to do - I need players. We have three so let's see what happens today and tomorrow. We will have to have a think about it.

"Maybe a winger has to play as a full-back or we play with five at the back where wing-backs are wingers. I don't know. I'm thinking about what to do with our situation.

He was dreadful for England and has been worse than Rashford in the PL this season though.

But not taking him on a free is ridiculous considering he was player of the season last year. I think he's overrated but still a good player

Moaning and whinging now about losing players.. “I just want my players back” no one cares go and dip into your elite development squad that’s worth a fortune if it’s so bad. The amount of stick Klopp got in 2021 when he was losing players left, right and centre and went through a patch of 6 home losses or whatever, but got on with it. Thinks things like this don’t happen to his teams, but he’s had it good for years, this is long overdue.

Exactly. The truly elite just deal with it. Fergie used to field some ridiculous teams back in the day - I remember one game against Arsenal where he fielded 7 defenders, yet was still able to walk away with a 2-0 victory.

Pep's had it far too easy for too long.

Missing 4 regular first teamers this weekend, including the long term rodri. His injuries excuse is pathetic. Career long cheater.
