He's agreed terms with us, why is everyone so convinced he's going to join Chelsea because one or two twitter sources said it?

Do United even need Pedro? You've already got Depay, Young, Mata, Valencia, Januzaj, Perreira for two positions.

We're planning to send Cuadrado out on loan to Juve so Pedro would be an instant starter here.

Pedro is class dont get me wrong but there was something beautiful in seeing depay and januzaj all in the same team with the RW to spare. Pedro seems more likely the best available than the most tantalising.

A basically a RW version of depay would make us a force in terms of co-ordination and symmetry with players cutting in all angles; and is the only real reason mata starts on the right himself.

Think this will be wrapped up today or tomorrow but with Chelsea in for him as well its difficult to tell where he'll end up.

For three positions. Valencia is a backup RB.

Castles, Luckhurst and Barcastuff all comment on City enquiring nothing about Chelsea. I think its been leaked to help speed up United signing him, some football journo supports Man Utd and is growing impatient and as such releases the Chelsea interest in a bid to force Uniteds hand. All other sources say Pedro prefers United as his first choice.

I'm remaing confident about signing him,

He will be on the bench on Saturday against Newcastle.

If we miss out on this signing, it'll be because of incompetence. Nothing more. Woody, get yer feckin act together.

Young - not good enough
Mata - not creative enough
Valencia - not good enough
Januzaj - not consistent enough
Perreira - not proven

Pedro would be an instant starter here also and I've no doubt he's been told that

I think we definitely need a right winger, Young and Memphis will compete for the LW with Mata and Pedro battling it out for the RW. Valencia is a backup RB nowadays and Januzaj is likely to compete for the #10/ST positions, Perriera is only young and I can see him challenging the #10 role as well.
In short:
LW: Memphis, Young
CAM: Januzaj, Perriera
RW: Pedro, Mata

Add bale and we've got an attacking force like the red arrows

Im loosing my woody here at how this story is evolving :(

We need to get this signing sorted. I like seeing Adnan too but right now? Pedro is more effective. If we bring him in, suddenly we've a quick team. Him and Depay floating would cause teams a fair amount of problems.

I think Pedro is all we need to challenge for the title and be successful in Europe this season.

Sign a top class CB and ST next summer, then we could have one of the best squads in Europe.

He has a bloody release clause, there should be no messing about trying to offer installments and success bonuses. The number is what it is.

Chelsea have emerged late to challenge Manchester United’s bid to secure theBarcelona forward Pedro Rodríguez after holding talks with the Catalan club aimed at agreeing a fee.

Imagine the meltdown

This place would be in constant argument with who was to blame for weeks, LvG, Woody, Glazers, Eboue. Then of course we'd have those in denial that we were never in for him :wenger:.

Really hope this is sorted soon, hate having these things lingering when our season is now in full flow.

Nah there's no way Pedro is the difference maker for a title challenge.
The defence has looked good against Spurs, Villa, Brugge. But sterner tests to come and I think a top drawer CB is needed.

If DDG goes then possibly a keeper and absolutely no doubt we need another striker.

With those three possibly a title though the more new players we get in the more time it takes for them to click and gel.

Has anybody considered that maybe the delay might be due to CL qualifications? Our case will be stronger to Pedro if we secure a start and playing in the CL.

Been on the Chelsea forum and some seem to believe they are in for Pedro, even starting making up songs about him. Small groupings think it's all smoke and if we got him then they fear the strength we have in midfield.

If only Rooney was scoring goals.....

You're definitely under-rating Pedro. He will definitely make a huge difference.

The funny thing is, against teams with more quality in attack, I think our defensive structure and discipline will prove to be more effective.

Yeah, I remember it was discussed earlier in the thread.

It's certainly a possibility. If so, hopefully last night's result will speed things up a bit.

He has a very reasonable release clause and seemingly wants to join us. This should be a straight-forward signing, a player of his quality and experience will be a terrific addition to the squad. I hope it's completed by the weekend.
