Thiago Motta also did well for a Barca reject. Pedro is a really good player and would be a great addition to our squad considering our very limited options on that right wing even if Di Maria is fit.

Our fans would be fed up of his antics after 2 games with his rolling around on the floor every time a player comes near him. It's part of the reason most haven't taken to Di Maria this season. He also likes to stay down for a few minutes when he's been tackled.

Funnily enough, I've always thought that James Wilson would be ideal for the 'Pedro role'. I'm pretty sure I mentioned it on this forum quite a long time ago. I wouldn't be averse to bringing in the man himself to teach the kid how to do it. We'd probably need to play Rooney as a false 9 for it to work, though. I'm just not sure if that's a tactic that LvG likes.

Can't see this happening, he's very good but not world class. Not to mention if we change to a 433 he's too weak to be a target man imo.

He would likely operate in one of the wide positions. If ADM leaves it would make sense to sign him

He'd be tremendous for us I think, would be a great buy for 20million. Can't believe how much some are under rating him... Thought there'd be a lot of buzz about this.

I'd take Barca "rejects" all day long.

Yep. The last one did quite well for Le Arse.

Just to beat Chelski to them would make this sweet as feck. He wouldn't choose them over us would he?

He's more likely to start for United than Chelsea i think. Would that sway him? or would playing for Chelsea who at the moment is a better team?

No, our fans have not warmed to Di Maria because he has been poor for us. Ronaldo liked a dive here and there and was adored by United fans.

I'm not sure about that. Apart from Hazard they don't have a better wide option than him.

Isn't Pedro a left winger though? Would that then also mean playing Depay as an out and out striker?

I have not seen Pedro play for a long time so I could be wrong about his position but I am sure I will be corrected in that case :)

I can answer this as I am an expert scout with high-tech, modern and extensive scouting methods:

Fifa '15 list him as a LW with RW his second position. Fifa '14 he is listed as a RW with LW his second position. In both editions he has a 5 star weak foot rating.

Conclusive.

His preferred position is on the right and he has played for Barca mostly on the right.

Of course he can play on the left and in the center, with the latter being rare.

:D Thanks

I think he would be a great signing at 20m. He is a versatile player who has pace and offers a goal threat and he is useful in a 433 where he could play on either flank. He might be a replacement for Mata or di Maria should the latter leave for PSG?

I think the signs are we might look for me a more fluid attack next season with the protection they have of a decent midfield behind them. Pedro would fit in to that with his pace and movement.

Didn't know he had that much pace. He looks quite lightening in the videos I've found. In the few times I've actually seen him I didnt realise that.

I think Pedro will be next. I would love it if van Gaal used Memphis as a striker and tried this...

-----------Memphis------------
Pedro----- Herrera----- di Maria
---Morgan S---- Bastian S------

That's the only way I can see us fitting Pedro in and retaining Di Maria, if Memphis is used more centrally.

He might choose London over Manchester, it wouldn't be anything to with the club.
The fact that Chelsea are league champions and the best team in the country wouldn't have anything to do with his decision?

The fact that LvG has been manager of Barcelona, Mou the manager of Real, and the fact we got players like Herrera and Mata who every Spainiard seem to be friends with points to our direction. If we are in for him I think we'll get him. We are pretty good with getting those Spanish guys.

Form is temporary, Chelsea cannot compete with the lustre of Utd. Coming from another great old club like Barca it would be quite a jolt to go to that nouveau riche lot. The only clubs on that level are Real, Utd, Barca, Bayern and perhaps Juve. Of course they could offer him more money! That's how they got Hazard.

We could have easily afforded Hazard. Fergie refused to pay that idiot of an agent an extra fee though afaik.

That's a beautiful line-up indeed, but we would also have many alternatives to use Memphis too:

------------------------Memphis / Rooney---------------------------
Pedro / Memphis ---- Herrera / Memphis ---- Di Maria / Memphis
------------------------ Morgan ---- Basti ---------------------------

This has nothing to do with Pedro. LVG's 2 stints with Barca also didn't end on a good note with lot of issues with players including Rivaldo. I doubt any current player have any sort of extra affection for LVG.
Chelsea also have a few Spanish players now, and Cesc could be lot closer to Pedro than Mata by logic.

No chance they could offer more wages than us man - not anymore..

For some reason I completely forgot about Cesc. But anyway at the end of the day I think he'd choose us. Don't know why.

I actually think he would be a good signing personally, but don't really see the need for him as he is not a striker? Would he be competing with ADM and Depay/Young, I would imagine?

Nah man, it wouldnt be the carrot. Sure, when we were winning all before us - we still lost out to players to Chelsea who were willing to pay more money in wages.

Players are mostly, only interested in the bigger dough & the potential to win trophies - not the guarantee of winning trophies & the lesser dough..

I doubt he would move to either. If he wants to move, he's moving to get proper playing time, and I can't see him getting this in United or in Chelsea. Infact he has lot less compitition in Barca (we always keep our squad relatively small). I think teams like Liverpool would attract him more as he will be a defnite starter.

Yeah, but would quite possibly piss all over them though. He's a quality winger / forward & a goal-scorer to boot - not to mention, he loves to win the ball back..

He'd be an excellent signing for us & only us. He'd be shit & past it if he goes somewhere else..

No chance he'd like Liverpool, coming from a city like Barcelona & there's no Champions League football with them either & maybe not for the next few years too.

Manchester isnt exactly Barcelona, or London either, for that matter, but we've gotta shit-hot airport (whoo-hoo) that will provide him with easy access to travel back & forth to Spain when free time allows, or when his family & friends want to visit him..
