It's like quoting the Daily Express and The Daily Star. You're quoting literally the worst italian "sources" here.

You just made this up (or are quoting made up rumors from fake sources). His agent wouldn't have instantly flown to England to talk about a potential deal if he wasnt okay with it. Sure, his ideal scenario would probably be to stay at Juve and be a key player. Things dont always pan out like that. See Beckham with United. His career went just fine after leaving United didnt it? Dybala is 25 years old and has loads to prove still. He isnt someone who's achieved it all and is ready to hang up his boots with one last pay day, if he leaves Juve, it's to go somewhere he'll have a bigger role in the team. That mentality is never bad. I'd much sooner avoid a player who is content to stay at a club on the bench regardless of the role they offer. Its just a different scenario to the players you mentioned.Man Utd are Juve's choice, not his or his agent's.
Dybala is an unwilling makeweight.
All the players you mentioned chose their new clubs and were happy with the new challenge.
We really can't pass up the opportunity though. Even if he plays here for couple of seasons with 100% commitment and get us back to top, he can leave.Fair enough. My point isn't about saying that the deal will or won't happen. It's about the wisdom of signing a player who hypothetically doesn't want to come. I've couched every post with that predicate.

That's fair. If he doesnt want to come, then I doubt he will come anyway. I don't think that's the case with Dybala for multiple reasons though. We aren't his #1 choice, but we stopped being the #1 choice for players the second Sir Alex retired. His top choice would probably be to stay at Juve and be a key player, but he doesnt have that role anymore. His dream is probably Barca/Madrid like all latino players, but again, not an option. Just because we aren't his dream club, it doesn't mean that we arent a very decent option for him or that he doesn't want to come here. Plenty suggests otherwise (like his agent being here right away to discuss the deal).Fair enough. My point isn't about saying that the deal will or won't happen. He doesn’t have any other option if Juve has told him he isn’t in their plans. Barca and Madrid don’t need him. No one else in Italy can afford nor does he want to move to anyone else. PSG said nothing doing till they sell Neymar which isn’t gonna happen. So we are his only option out.I’m confident there is nothing to see in Dybala to United. I can’t envisage him playing either in our shirt or our league. At a push I could see him at City but certainly not us in our current incarnation. I would love him in the squad but currently he is a luxury and we should be focusing elsewhere CB/MF/pure RW
For this to happen he would have to be pushed into a corner with no options and a player of his quality would have options at least should he have to move.
No more Di Marias Thanks.
Agent could still travel and see what we are offering. Or may be Inter wasn't ready with a decision at that point of time. Too many combinations yet to play. You just made this up (or are quoting made up rumors from fake sources). We don’t have anything to lose actually. Even if he backs out tmrw, we keep Lukaku and move on. Our aim was to try to get him and we have done that. We have shown interest. If he rejects us after this it’s fine. We either keep Lukaku or sell him to Inter and find a new striker.Agent could still travel and see what we are offering. I still think we are being played by the Italian teams here. Not that we shouldn't try but be ready for a setback any point of time. Unfortunately Inter with Conte and CL is much better for him now.
Because he's reportedly a makeweight in the Lukaku deal, there's seemingly no alternative club for him to join. That's fair. If he doesnt want to come, then I doubt he will come anyway. Yep. It would be professionally negligent for the agent not to travel to that meeting.Agent could still travel and see what we are offering. Or may be Inter wasn't ready with a decision at that point of time. Too many combinations yet to play.

That doesn't make sense actually. The Juventus DOF also travelled to England according to the same sources so it doesn't seem to be just a formal meeting due to professional courtesy.Yep. It would be professionally negligent for the agent not to travel to that meeting.

An agent is there to represent his client. It behooves him to be involved in discussions, even if his client has no intention of being swayed by the result. That doesn't make sense actually. That discussion can happen by other means, a face to face is not required if there is no concrete interest. Still doesn't explain Juve's DOF travelling as well.An agent is there to represent his client. It behooves him to be involved in discussions, even if his client has no intention of being swayed by the result.
The Juve DOF is there to discuss Lukaku. The agent is there to make sure he gathers as much information as possible for his client, because some of the Lukaku discussions might be relevant. That discussion can happen by other means, a face to face is not required if there is no concrete interest. Oh yeah, precisely this. It would be pure negligence on our side not to try this option when Juve is presenting an opportunity like this.We don’t have anything to lose actually. Even if he backs out tmrw, we keep Lukaku and move on. Our aim was to try to get him and we have done that. We have shown interest. If he rejects us after this it’s fine. Is he motivated to be here 3-5 years, give his all for the cause?
Juve were interested in Icardi. Still think he is their first choice and we are being used here. And Inter are going to offer what exactly ? Icardi ? If Lukaku is what is interesting Juventus then you couldn't really find a more diametrically opposed pair of forwards. There is nothing in those Inter rumours. If they can't stump up for Lukaku then they definitely have nothing to interest Juventus with for Dybala.
He is a footballer. I assume he loves to play football. If he does, why on Earth shouldn’t he be motivated to play well in a big club, where he will be one of the key players?
Why would they go to such lengths if a deal inside of Italy is more likely? Just to mess with us? There are also reports of us including Darmian in the deal because Juventus are looking to sell Cancelo to make profit on him.The Juve DOF is there to discuss Lukaku. The agent is there to make sure he gathers as much information as possible for his client, because some of the Lukaku discussions might be relevant.
Ronaldo doesn't play as a number 10, if Dybala was as sensational as to justify been paid more the second highest wage in the league, he better be good enough to justify playing him in apparently the only position he is great at. Whether you bring in Ronaldo or not.
even at 300k I would walk away. Fairly sure that would make him the second highest player player in the premier league (joint with Ozil after Sanchez)
It would make him unsellable and we can't afford to have anymore players on the books who we can't shift if we want/need too.
Offer him 250 at max, if he says no walk away.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...ly-paid-roberto-mancini175m-offshore-account/The latest leaks also purport to show the huge salaries being paid by City to their players. Leroy Sane was reportedly guaranteed £24.5million over three years when he joined as a 20-year-old, while Sergio Agüero is allegedly paid £18million annually, or £346,000 a week. Ilkay Gundogan allegedly earned €11 million (£184,000 per week) last year, according to Der Spiegel.
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/46157225Raheem Sterling has signed a three-year contract extension at Manchester City, committing him to the club until 2023 in a deal worth up to £300,000 a week.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...-signs-new-six-year-manchester-city-contract/De Bruyne’s deal will commit him to the Etihad Stadium until June 2023 and will be worth £280,000 a week with bonuses and image rights, although that figure could rise to £18 million annually if City sweep the board this term.
Juve want nothing to do with Wanda.Juve were interested in Icardi. Still think he is their first choice and we are being used here.
Inter don't need to pump up for Dybala as this is a straight forward swap.
Higuain > Roma
Dzeko > Inter
Icardi > Juve
Dybala > Inter
And Italian clubs love these kind of deals.
That discussion can happen by other means, a face to face is not required if there is no concrete interest. Still doesn't explain Juve's DOF travelling as well.
