Paulo Dybala

Glad to see we've learnt from di Maria and co.

The only thing confusing me at the moment is how are the Telegraph the only ones to be reporting this? It's clearly not a brief, and it's using their own "sources". Have they looked at the stories in Italy about him returning to training tomorrow and him apparently saying to his agent he doesn't want to leave and made something from it?
Just find it weird how no one else has reported anything at the moment
20 minutes ago Agresti was saying that negotiations are "still very hot"

I'll take "Elvis' weekend activities" for $800 please.

Wtf

Not being funny but Maguire is coming from Leicester City Dybala is coming from Juventus. I’m sure you can see the parallels and wage difference between the two.
Of course. I was responding to your point about demanding too much.

Tbh I have no problem with United walking away if they feel he's not too keen on the move.

We still in for him, we just need him to know that this is the best deal on the table.

Let’s see what happens after a day at Juve tomorrow and the frosty reception Sarri has for him.

Dybala is stupid if all the above is true.

I think its understandable from Dybala's pov. A week ago, his heart was at Juve, and he had no plans at all to move. Quite hard for him to invent that desire in a few days.

Situation very poorly managed by Juventus.

IMO, it has probably been leaked by someone close to United to try to force Dybala's camp to make a decision, but United haven't officially pulled out yet.

I'm not getting any hopes up at all, but it just seems like they've took the reports of him training tomorrow as United have admitted defeat and pulled out of negotiations.
If its true, it's took us 5 or 6 days to realise that he doesn't want to come, time that could have been spent looking elsewhere for Lukaku buyers?

As disappointing as this is - it’s even more impressive that Ole has truly held his morals. Feck them if they don’t WANT to play for united. Doesn’t matter who you are

I don’t think us signing him ever really made sense. We need a DM and a Herrera replacement. If we sell Lukaku and sign Mandzukic we should have enough money to bring in Longstaff and Bruno Fernandes. I think that would be a very good summer.

Until the Italian journo's come out with the reports later saying that things are still on and a deal is super close.
Then again, i really don't know what to believe anymore, it's a case of if it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, it doesn't. We move on

True. I always felt that Dybala was more of an opportunistic signing. All summer we have been thinking about selling lukaku. We must have some plan about his replacement options, I hope and we should just go with that.

Yeah, I think this could also a negotiating ploy from Woodward. You don't know what you have until you lose it.

Really positive news if the club have finally demonstrated some self respect deserving of the biggest club in the country.

If you don't want to be here, no begging or chucking ungodly sums of money. Be interesting to see what happens next regarding Lukaku.

His agent said back in May he wanted to leave Juventus

Wouldn't we have known this days ago, if it were true? If it has reached the point of his agent meeting with United last week, surely there was a soft agreement somewhere.

It's essentially the same thing to be honest
No it is not. We pull the plug cause he hasn't given us an answer but feel his heart isn't in it, or we tell the media we've pulled the plug cause he's flat out turned us down. Nothing alike.

Fair enough, you can wait 4 more hours for your disappointment.
If this was a face saving operation or something along those lines, surely more than one source would have been briefed, think that's safe to assume?

Also The Telegraph saying it's got its own source so not a brief. Doesn't really make sense.

I wanted him, but I am also very pleased with the club's decision to stop pursuing him if he is reluctant to come.

We still need a midfielder and a forward. Extremely disappointing how this whole thing turned out. I can't see us finishing higher than 5th tbh with the current state of the squad.

Not sure that deal can happen as Juve don't have enough cash to buy Lukaku, hence the notion of a player swap.

Doubt they will sell us Mandzukic in a stand alone deal, especially without a new incoming striker.

Dybala wont play unless Juventus changes the management, as he stood in the way of his employer.

He is young and not mature enough if he doesn’t understand.

Then, if he indeed thinks that we are not good enough for him, then he may get fecked.

Its the same as the Bale situation from a few years ago. Hes underperforming, doesnt really fit in anymore but likes playing for the club too much that he becomes a **** to how they treat him.
He's underperformed for 18 months, another season in a club that doesn't want him and no top club will touch him for the price he will command.
You can enjoy playing for a club but you end up becoming a meme.

Was always a long shot, not sure where that leave us and Lukaku. Inter I guess hopefully come calling and then we go for something else??? Fernandes is option 2 I guess all along.

How does only the Telegraph knows this and this being such a big news? I'll wait for more further sources
Ducker is very reliable. I'd take his word over other journos, even Di Marzio.

Thought he was worth a punt in a swap deal, but ultimately I've never been a big fan of Dybala so not too bothered. If Ducker's article is correct, I think the club have made the right decision.

But we've likely not told the media anything. It doesn't look like a brief - it's a telegraph exclusive. I'd find it hard to believe they're the only ones that would have this information if true.
My bet is the Italians will come out later and say United are still in it, deal is close etc etc. It'll be 4 more days of crap and waiting. To be fair, maybe we should end all negotiations, find someone else and make sure we go into the new season with a good midfield and no Lukaku

If he really isn't 100% sure he wants to join us then it's a really smart move to not go for him, we've had enough players come here just for the money.

As disappointing as this is - it’s even more impressive that Ole has truly held his morals. Feck them if they don’t WANT to play for united. Doesn’t matter who you are
Agreed man. The last thing we want is someone on huge wages not really wanting to play for the club. Well done to United!

Well its too good to be true anyway, Lukaku for Dybala, it doesn't make any sense at all.
Let's just move on.
