If Telegraph are reporting it as an exclusive, it's likely not a brief, but it does kinda look like a bit of a dead in the water thing now.
Poor Dybala, he's going to be in the for worst season of his life at Juve now
 
That would be understandable from both sides. If we get someone else over the line of course.

We should at least get Mandzukic and go all out for Bruno!
 
I suspect we will be signing Bruno this week after all.
 
The main negative is keeping an unhappy Lukaku imo

Would be better in my view than getting someone who doesn't want to be here. We've had enough of those.
 
Looks like Ed might actually be learning from previous mistakes. Would have been a hell of a signing but if his heart’s not in it then it’s a good decision to walk away.
 
Can't blame the club for that then. The only right thing to do.
 
Good call. Wonder if we'll offer straight cash for Mandzukic still. Hopefully we can still wrap up Bruno too.

Absolutely the right call if there were doubts over his level of desire. If his heart's not in it, he won't perform at 100%.
 
I think this will be done. We’ve had the same stuff with Maguire. He’s probably demanding too much. Rightly so if we tell him his demands won’t be met.
 
It's the right decision. Any player who doesn't jump at the opportunity, the plug should be pulled. It's smart and win-win for everybody involved. United don't end up with someone who doesn't want to be here.

Dybala may well be ruing his dilly-dallying next season, but this move by United also leaves Dybala time to reverse course and join us FFS.
 
For once,the club is acting with some sense and getting their priorities right.
 
Good to know we're sticking with the 'hungry players who want to play for us' thing, though.
 
I’d rather we concluded Bruno over him if push came to shove. Marquee signings have burnt our fingers the past few years.

Get Bruno done and see if you can get a Lukaku-Mandzukic swap deal going. I’d be happy with that.
 
At least we pulled out now and not deadline day. Hopefully we’re actually signing someone else
 
If true then by all means that’s acceptable from the club, we are now stuck with Lukaku for another year where he now knows he’s not first choice and has basically been held out of pre season.
