Paulo Dybala

Not as an attacking mid but like a support striker sort of role, same as griezmann. Not a right sided player (though hes played there in the past, but it's not the best use of him). Not a #9 or lone striker. Not a left sided player. That leaves the #10. He could probably do a false 9 type of role. United isnt set up to suit one though.
Yeah, a false 9 or right striker in a pair would be where I'd envisage him in our team. In regards to not suiting him, if we're bringing in two attackers we'll basically be rehauling our attack anyway, so if we're interested, it's because he suits the attacking setup we're planning to develop. I mean, it would be pretty hard to end up in a square peg in a round hole situation when it's essentially a blank canvas.

Also, going back a bit, didn't he play as the lead striker at Palermo? Not going to pretend I watched him back then.

If we get him. We should play diamond formation. If we try to use Dybala

Griezmann, he is a leader in the attack. But Dybala has the potential to be as good as him, with the right set up, he could be an important player for us.
To play a diamond you need quick and dynamic full backs, we don't have that. Dybala would probably play in a fluid front 3 with Rashford and Martial for us, with Pogba behind them.

Romeo Agresti (up there with Di Marzio reliability regarding Juve) has said that both Allegri and the club have put Dybala on the market.

Dybala may well be available this summer but realistically I can only see us getting him if he is to play centrally and we were to sell Lukaku. However, he plays better alongside a target man, so on paper Lukaku fits that bill more than either Rashford or Martial. If we are to play 433 next season, unless Dybala plays as a sole central striker, I don't see where Dybala fits into our team. But, he would be an upgrade overall on Lukaku.

Would love to have him as long as he's playing as a free #10 and if Pogba leaves he would be a great replacement as our playmaker. If we're planning on playing him as a RW similar to Mata then I'll pass.

He'd be mad to come to us. I reckon he's Bayern bound. Good move for him.

Mate he’s not that good. He’d love it here, plenty of money and no ambition to win f all. Perfect for him.. you seem to forgot they are selling him because he’s not good enough. Why would Bayern want that.

We need someone like him in this team desperately. We need a player who can create for themselves because others in the team don’t. Dybala is a good dribbler and should be able to do that. Only thing he can’t do for us is get on the end of Young’s aimless crosses at random but not many players can so there’s that.

Would prefer him centrally with Sancho on the right and Martial/Rashford on the left.

Dybala would be a waste on the right. He's surplus to requirements at Juve, hence he was pushed out wide with Ronaldo coming in and didn't do too well.

For those who follow Serie A closely, was he already in decline the season before or did this start with CR7's arrival?

No hes not, he works a defence, pulls them all over the place and has great positional awareness in finding space, he's also a clinical goalscorer against the best teams, not just cannon fodder like Lukaku is. If you think Vardy has poor technique, then what does it say about Lukaku

The sqaud still needs depth
Rashford
Martial
Dybala
Lingard
Vardy
Zaha

All playing for the front 3 positions with Lingard & Dybala also being able to play as a AM
If we were to sign Vardy we could finally be known as Jokechester United, he isn’t any of those things you’ve just said. He also wouldn’t do any better here as quite simply our forwards do make runs our damn midfield just don’t pass the ball when they do. So no matter what striker you bring in it isn’t going to make a difference until midfield is better.

Why would we also want all those players? Be a horrible frontline as well.

I'm gonna be completely honest with you mate. I've barely seen the guy play. My opinion on his ability is pretty much based on the hype around him & him having a 94 potential in Fifa. So he's not what we need then?

Dont want dybala. Dont think he suited to english footie and was average against us tbh. Given the figures we are talking about id rather raid ajax ziyech and/or van der beek.

This would be our usual trick, throw a bucket load at a 'big name player', worry about where he fits in, whether he's actually worth the fee, or if he has the right mentality/drive for us, after we've bought him.

We've seen so many supposed top forwards come in recently, virtually all have failed, so even if true forgive me for not get 'hyped' at yet another one, who Juve seem only too happy to move on.

Would be the mistake of the new season if we bring him here, he has had one of his worst seasons in Europe and we would surely sign him for a feck load of money and promise him an starting role, what could go wrong?

This is the kind of player we should be signing. £100 million, will demand a high salary, has completely stalled in his development. Will fit in right with our current players.

I think he will be a bad signing. I really don't think he is the type of player to be signing at the moment. He seems like someone who needs to be in a great team to perform, but Manutd are not that. Need to improve the team first before adding luxury players.

Well this your opinion, not a fact. Fact is Vardy is statistically better then Lukaku. Is only behind Aguero in minutes per goals ratio against the top six and has led a team to a league title.
You think call it horrible, but prefer Lukaku and think he is technically better. I think this horrible. Each on their own I guess...

As for wanting "all those players" Dybala will be replacing Lukaku. Zaha/Sancho replacing Sanchez. Vardy is the only extra player brought in, so am not sure what you are on about

Why would they want a 25 year old top talent not wanted by their previous club? Almost like they didn't sign a 25 year old unwanted Robben who became one of their best players ever.

Dybala would just end up isolated in this team. He's the type of players that shines when everyone around him is doing well. You sign these type of players only when you have a good team to play around him.

It’s almost as if getting value out of and succeeding in the transfer market is about sigining players who you can improve and get more out of, recognising that all players would look crap when being misused or out of form. That said,

RASHFORD OUT!111

Ziyech has supposedly agreed to go to Bayern. Sounds like we've missed the boat on that one. Van Der Beek might be somewhat underwhelming in the prem imo.

What's Dybala stats for this season?
Poor as he's been played out on the right to accommodate Ronaldo. He's typically good in terms of both goals and assists though. He's a bit like raheem sterling plays at city. Could be really good but only as part of a quality unit. If we sign him without improving the midfield and wide forwards he could easily flop.

Somehow, I don't think a lot of the people passing judgement have seen him regularly.

Why would Juvé sell him if they got Ronaldo and want to win (CL) now?

Wouldn’t that be a step backwards for them?

I'd be happy if we signed Paulo Di Canio, the 50 year old facist ex-footballer, to lead our line at the minute. Hardly going to turn my nose up at the idea of signing Dybala.

Scoring goals and being technical aren’t the same thing. They knock the ball over the top, Vardy runs after it. No technical brilliance about it he uses his speed.

Dybala won’t be replacing Lukaku and as for what I’m on about you listed a heap of players with Zaha and Vardy and mentioned depth. Zaha isn’t a top 4 player and neither is Vardy.

Anyway Dybala, seems like a bit of a weird option to buy but as I said I’m guessing Ole is buying someone like that to play behind Lukaku and Rashford.

When has Dybala ever played like Robben at Chelsea? Tell me and you might have a point.

Tevez was actually brilliant for us imo.

Just the ending that sucked

As for Dybala, I don’t see much in him whenever I actually see him play football matches in real life
This. Tevez was excellent for United. Heinze was very good too.
I've always said Dybala is a luxury player we don't need imo and will cost a bomb. Never got the hype about him.

The 3 years where he was making Serie A team of the years and was voted top 15 in the Ballon d'or. The 3 years he was leading the goal/assists charts for the 3 time champions. The 3 years where he averaged a goal or assist about every 100 minutes.

Tell me when Robben did that at Chelsea and you might have a point.

Yet he’s still not there best player? Yet he’s still an unused sub for Argentina yet as mentioned before non of Europe’s elite want him? Robben left Chelsea for Madrid be that it wasn’t the Madrid we see today. I don’t see Dybala going anywhere except for a stupid club like ours believing he’s something he really isn’t and that is top class.

I like him but do you think he is what we need right now? He's not exactly the "attack the space" type forward but more of a technically gifted player, with very good dribbling, good movement, clever half turn - like a better version of Mata.

Do you think that's the profile of player we need? And don't you think it would prevent us from having a right winger as per previous seasons.

If the system Ole has been playing for the best part of the last four months is what he intends, then we need him imo. We play with a sort of two-striker system where both drift wide allowing room for a deeper man to operate in the middle. I can't think of a better player for that middle role than Dybala. We are one of the few teams that play a system that fits him. We need an upgrade on Mata, I don't see how it's debatable. Just look at our players in the final third, we are horrible. He's not a player that will stretch the pitch but it doesn't mean we don't need him and also doesn't stop us getting one of those players.
On being a fairweather player, people forget that for the most part of his Juve career, he has carried their attack.
For me it depends on how Ole wants us to set up. But I am surprised at some of the same people saying they don't want Dybala cause he does not fit but want us to sign Felix.
