So Mourinho has all but confirmed Pogba will sign for us, i expect this will be announced on Monday.

There would be no point in him going back to Turin to train individually or with the youth team if he's going to be sold.

Now the only surprise would be if the big signing is, for some reason, not Pogba... but at that point, that's no more an option, isn't it? Isn't it? 
Did he say 48 hours? I thought he said in the next few days which lines up with what he said before that we will sign the fourth player before the season starts.
The new bit is confirmation that it is a very good midfielder and his statement on Pogba is much more positive.
Nothing, just offering my two cents. I don't think that aside from Carrick who clearly can't play every game, Pogba doesn't have a partner suitable for bringing out the best in him if we're playing a 4-2-3-1. In order for Pogba to play a box to box role, he will need somebody who is defensively disciplined next to him. Herrera is not that player for me.
Just seen the Mourinho quotes, very encouraging. I'd guess this'll be announced Sunday to create hype before/after the CS, or Monday. Hallelujah!

Jose made clear that he doesn't plan with the last two (in CM at least..).
The remaining 5 players have to fight for that one position and all of them have either enough experience OR potential for that role.
Whoever forms the best partnership with Pogba will get that job.
The one that beats out those 4 competitors must be in an awesome form and a damn good PL footballer. That's good enough for me.

We knew it is very close. Castles has been bang on about everything related to us this summer.
Yeah, and I hope it works out, but Herrera for me will have to improve immensely if he's to make a good partner for Pogba. Maybe Mourinho is the man to drill some positional and defensive sense into him.

Castle's basically works for Jorge Mendes, he has been a Jose mouth piece for the last few years. He always used to spout biased Jose/Chelsea stuff for years on twitter, now he seems to have sided with us with positive Mourinho articles etc. If anybody knows it's him, and he says it's done. He has clearly been told.

Bear in mind that Rooney will be dumped out of the team sooner rather than later if he doesn't perform (there's a decent chance of this happening IMO, Jose won't persisit with him for long if he's churning. This would free up Pogba for a Lampard/Gerrard style role and create another role in the team for someone like Herrera to operate in. I'd hold on to him for the time being.

If you just want the relevant news, there is transfer tweet section on top that is as reliable as anything. Another thing that helps is if you only read the last page of this thread, it pretty much tells you where things are at the moment.
If people aren't allowed to chat on public forums, then where exactly do you think we should take this conversation? And sometimes when people are excited about something, the convo will get repetitive.

No he has not. He has said we want to sell/loan every central defender that isn't Bailly or Smalling. He still says we want to sell Mata too.

To be fair the window is still open, its not unfeasible that Mata can leave and/or we loan out a few defenders.
