No that wasn't my point, I agree entirely with what you're saying here in that every game is equally important, I'm just saying that in the scheme of things I'd rather he miss one or two games at the start of the season in order to have a proper break than come back early and end up suffering with fatigue later in the season and potentially either missing more games or being no use.

True, but I would argue that the four weeks he's now had are more than enough to recover and avoid being fatigued later in the season. As I've said before I'm not averse to him having an extended break, but 3 weeks is an extended break, and after that I don't see the value. Especially not if it's eating into time when e could be getting into match fitness and settling into the team.

If anything I'd rather give him a week off later in the season to freshen up than have him take it now.

By the way why do players get devalued here and are suddenly seen less than what they'd been regarded as before they join us.

I notice this trend and it's very prominent with our own fans(well at least posters on this board). when a player isn't playing for us he is seen as this top class, world class player but as soon as the same player join us the narrative suddenly changes and people start questioning their qualities. It's already happening with Zlatan and Pogba.

Zlatan was seen as world class when playing for PSG, people were happy with his imminent arrival to us but as soon as he joined doubts started drawing in with some and they started questioning his age and whether he is still top class.

Then you have Pogba who got named in the world best 11, whom beside most people on this forums is seen as world class(I don't even know why we underrated our own players this much). I seriously find this very odd. The same Pogba had he joined city, people would have been labeling world class and moaning about missing on him but since we're the one likely to get him he inexplicably get underrated and here we are wanting other teams players who happen to be injury prone and not even on Pogba level(Gundongan).

Very odd mentality this place has.

Serie A begins two or three weeks after Premier League, Juventus have only got back to training a few days ago.

I agree, he's going to be in the middle of the most expensive transfer ever and if all that prevents us from signing him is that he doesn't want his holiday cut short by 3 or 4 days, I honestly don't like it. He won't have the chance to play in any of the friendlies or Community Shield, he will probably not make his debut until September.

Oh I don't think that's the case. I don't blame him for the deal not being done yet (unless he's being awkward about personal terms) I would be amazed if he could speed up negotiations by coming home early. I imagine that stuff is all out of his hands. I just think if he had his heart set on playing PL football that maybe he should be thinking about getting his body ready too. Get back to Europe, get over the jet lag and get some fitness work done. I don't know what is stopping him from doing that.

For those saying how this is boring, having a go at his vocation...wish he went on 3 weeks long vocation in space, that would teach you.

No I didn't. Show me ONE place where I did that. Jesus wept.
The quote was right above that. Anyways, your quote is below

A pacy right winger with bags of potential, a dynamic attacking midfielder who we could nurture/rotate and lasts years player of the season in Kante. Great business by our rivals in my opinion.

Instead we've a 34 year old striker, a raw CB and a bit of a punt in Miki. And NO sign of Pogba, who I don't rate anyway.

So the best you could come up about our 3 signings was we have a punt in Miki while all others seem to be full on potential or already very good.

I like how this dude compares our signings to 2 different clubs like we can somehow hover all that talent spending the exact same amounts those clubs spent on the player.

Imagine getting into a bidding war with Chelsea and city. How much is that going to drive up the price of Kante, Gundogan or Sane.

I'm thinking that guy is definitely wumming in this thread.

I never said inferior though did I? My description is subjective. You don't have to agree with it. But there is no denying Zlatan is 34, Bailly is raw and Mhki is Mhki.

what does Mkhi is Mkhi mean exactly? He hasn't got a strange hair cut, how come you don't like him either.

If you are referring to me I most definitely am not wumming. I just am one of the few voices on here who doesn't want Pogba.
And everybody knows it, yet you feel the need to mention it every five minutes for ever varying reasons and talking about other players you'd prefer who aren't available.

We get it. You don't want him. Message received.

I haven't posted on here for five days. I got back on board today in response to a post about clubs other signings. My position is hardly going to change now is it just to placate you guys.

Though signing those players we still would not need them, when we need pogba, and that is the point of that specialist signing, much like when Mourinho signed essien in 2005, he fits the jose mourinho jigsaw

Dad has told me that Sky News are saying Pogba has been released of training duties. Not sure what that means or whether it is an official statement. Maybe the contract has been terminated.

How can any of us know how long a break is sufficient for any other individual to have?

For those saying how this is boring, having a go at his vocation...wish he went on 3 weeks long vocation in space, that would teach you.

It would teach us that his vocation was an astronaut and not a footballer.

I don't want Pogba for £100m either, but that doesn't change the fact that your posts are baffling all of us right now.

Honestly? I really can't see how anyone could go for that option. But thanks for at least answering the question.

I'll try and expand on my answer.

Firstly, I can't deny that Sane, Kante and Gundogan would have been good signings, or will be for their new clubs. But then again they might completely flop, we just don't know.

Sane in particular we don't know how well he will do. We signed the top wing talent going last year in Memphis and that hasn't worked out so far. I think he's far more of a punt than Mkhi.

My biggest problem with your argument is that you're forgetting we still have a a lot of players who would need to be moved on to accommodate these signings. We still have Herrera, Schneiderlin, Carrick, Fellaini, Schweini (:nervous:), Mata, Lingard, Young, you could even count Januzaj and Perriera in that list.

Some of these players just don't want to leave (or there might not be any takers so we're stuck with them for now), and while the players you mention would be upgrades, especially as most of those I mentioned could be considered 'squad' players, it would mean a fair old overhaul. I would rather they were slowly phased out of the club and replaced over the course of the next few seasons.

It may turn out that your argument is completely correct, but for now I'm sticking with option A as the best path for the team.

To be fair, he's been posting videos of him doing MMA like Muay Thai, pictures of him playing football, basketball just kickabout.
Yes it's not ideal but he's hardly been laying around putting on weight for the past 3 weeks.

They are getting that from the Di Marzio article he posted yesterday.

Either that or if they do have their own sources their all saying the same thing and stars are alligning. Did they say according to Sky Italy or 'Sky Sources'? Anyone know? That big an update would surely be a headline on their transfer centre.

They're the same thing.

That's what my dad has texted me. He's watching Sky News.

Looks like there is a decent chance this might be made official today.

IF this was true (as in the story, not your dad texting you!) surely this would be a main headline on their website, or at least ON their website.

Would you stop, I'd be surprised if the man even has 50 top flight appearances to his name and I don't think he speaks a word of fackin English.

Give him time to adapt, people have expectations that he's going to be like a prime vidic right from the off.

Can u even read? I said potentially!

Stick to discussing Pogba, any more nonsense about other players will be deleted and result in threadban. This thread is fecking tiresome.
