It'll be announced when it's done. Juventus don't care about Rooney's testimonial.

LOL. This is true.
I do realise that people want to blame everything on Rooney, but stating that Pogba's signing is being held up because of Rooney (and his testimonial), is taking it a little too far.

I don't subscribe to that theory. If it gets done they will announce it.

People said we wouldn't announce before the game yesterday because of Zlatan, yet it was played in front of a half empty stadium (much like the Rooney game I expect) and it was hardly a huge event. If anything it might bring more excitement to the game.

Zlatan is on the back page of every sunday newspaper in the country today, Zlatan was one of the top trends on twitter worldwide for hours after the game. Exactly what the club wants, the focus entirely in us. When Pogba is announced, we will be the main story again. That is why they separate the two. Marketing and branding is where the money for Pogba comes from, its incredibly important for the club even if we do not like it.

I am not sure the Rooney testimonial falls into the same category, but I would not be surprised to see the pogba announcement coming at the end of the week when hes finished his holiday rather than earlier.

lol the Rooney hate is really getting out of control.

Nice to break Madrid's streak of world record fees :)

Ed has gotten his wish, to stop the flow of the best players always going to Spain

based on what? I love how posters like this think they have some kind of special insight, like THEY are the ones who can only see through the lies and deception. You have absolutely NO ITK knowledge around what is going to happen. Neither do the people hoping it will happen. However what we have is respected and reputable journalists telling us it's likely to happen, so we believe them until evidence shows otherwise.

Whoa, relax mate. I never professed to having any sort of special insight or ITK news. It was merely a statement I made about what would happen if we don't actually land him... :S

Jose better abandon 4-2-3-1 which is just to accommodate rooney. Paul suits to 4-3-3. Hope he doesnt do van gaal again.

We will hope together, Pogba belongs to the left of a midfield three.

Makes no sense braking the record for a player and playing him in a position he's not at his best cause you want to play Rooney.

Yeah Jose is playing 4-2-3-1 just to accomodate Rooney. Not that he played that formation in most clubs he's been at.

But the player you're about to break the world transfer record for isn't suited to that system.

Why exactly?

Because what makes him special is his ability to freely run forward with and without the ball, his ability to be a threat in the last third.

Edit: Pogba would work in a 4231 with Sneijder/Kroos as a #10 and someone like Krychowiak next to him. Not with Rooney and Schneiderlin at least not from the get-go.

Why exactly?
Because with France it didn't work out clearly. Pogba needs a free role to move forward and be creative. Others have to cover for him defensively. If Rooney takes that role, Pogba is going to be restrained and thus it will result in the same fiasco as with France.

Mourinho's first Chelsea side was a 4-3-3 with Lampard as the most advanced midfielder. That would be the perfect role for Pogba in my opinion.

Well its not a formation which is a problem then. Hopefully he will be an AM and not Rooney.

Although I think he could play as a box to box cm with a holding mid behind.

The thing is that we are talking about Pogba within our current roster, in the absolute Pogba can play the role played by Pirlo, he did really well for Juvenuts and Conte in that role.

Im seriously done with Rooney and the club if we try to play a system to shoehorn Rooney in there. I'm hoping we go 4-3-3 with Carrick, Schneiderlin and Pogba in the middle which I think will suit all 3 players.

This signing increasingly sounds like one being done for marketing reasons rather than football reasons.
No it's not. Mourinho is a big fan of Pogba he even tried to get him when he was at Chelsea. Pogba is the 4th player Mourinho was talking about.

You are relentless. If you don't like him, fair enough and he has a lot to prove. But the signing is also done because of what kind of a footballer he is and he could become.

Surely paying £100 million for a player's marketing potential would be a false economy? Mind you, the same could be said about giving him away for nothing then paying £100 million to get him back!
