Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Only £65m? Bit of a bargin considering we forked out £59m for Di Maria.
Di Maria had just won a UCL and was world class, fully developed, in prime.

A lot of Pogba's value is still potential, because in terms of right now, Di Maria is a better player.

City would have still be 7th or 8th in the table currently if their billionaire owners played with their dicks for years and didnt spend on quality. If United want to return to the top of the English game, we're going to have to be buying players like Pogba. You need to outspend City and Madrid. Mourinho, Zlatan, Mkhitaryan, Pogba etc. You need players like that

interesting angle, if he is content staying where he is. but the club want to sell him
well we are throwing obscene amounts of money at them that not even madrid are willing to match, time to cash in i would say. They have a great midfield and just got pjanic for peanuts, Makes sense on their part

I really do think that he is the final piece

Darmian-----Mike----Bailey----Shaw
---Morgan/Bastian/Micheal------
--------- Herrera ---- Pogba------
Mikhi-------------------------------- Martial
--------------------- Zlatan ------------------

OK. So there are positions where we have good cover. Phil Jones can play DM, CB and RB. Valencia can play RB and RW. Rojo can play LB and CB. Blind can play CB, LB and DM.
I think the DM who protects the back 4 is going to be rotated between the three mentioned. The two in front can have cover of Rooney and Fellaini.
Memphis can cover for Martial while Mkhitaryan can be covered by Mata/Adnan (I really hope both Memphis and Adnan can rediscover themselves under Jose). While Zlatan can be covered by Rushford (remember he is just 18 so he needs time to develop and too much pressure always brings the second season syndrome).
Edit: I forgot we have Young who can play LB and LW.

That's an unrealistic line up because there is no Wayne Wooney

that team will get rekt defensively. Herrera, Pogba and Martial together is disaster,

We want the player? Check
We're willing to pay a lot of money to get him? Check
No one else willing to pay the same? Check How do you know?
Juventus willing to sell at the right price? Check
Player willing to come? Check - how do you know this?

What could go wrong?

Most big clubs can match us in fees and where has it ever said he's wanting yo come back here.

Take out Hererra and put in Kante for example and that team would romp to the league title.
As for PogboN. For me, we will go all out for him. Will offer him more wages than anyone can match. It will basically be up to him. I just can't see where he fits at Real. With us, it's the opposite. He will be our main man in MF and can be a star. Not so much at Real. I think we will have a clear run at him this summer. Hold tight, this ones going to go on a while.

I fear if he lights the tournament up with a couple of goals against Iceland, gets goal or assist in the semi final to get them through to final Real Madrid might just pay up thinking of the hype that would generate.

With France being the home nation, there's a good chance of them winning it and Pogba being instrumental in the last few games.

We have a small chance if France go out or he's a no show and feels like a change.

Not happening. The player would never push for the move as his ambition is to play for Madrid. Wed be like second best and id always question his mentality much like Di Maria. In fact this situation is almost identical- Di Maria comes to United as PSG cant quite stump up the cash his head isnt in the game and he ends up moving next season for much cheaper.

Could happen here. He wants Madrid and he wont be sold on the idea of United as we let him down once before and Juve have no reason to sell what so ever. He is absolutely crucial to their success and their crown jewel. To make them sell we really would have to smash the record. I dont think anything below £100m will do it and innthat case Pogba is almost forced to come here.

All in all I dont see it.

Am I the only one worried that Pogba might not want to come here?

Don't want a player that would rather be in Madrid

Paul Pogba is not coming to United! He left us for Juventus, felt mistreated by the club, what makes you think he now wants to go from sunny
Italy and back to rainy Manchester? This guy will join Barcelona or Real Madrid!

And anyway, why do we want him? Do we really want to buy back a player that left us on a free? And for the reported 100 million? I definetly hope we dont. Don't get me wrong, Pogba is a good player but i would much prefer Kroos for 40-50 million.

The blind, unwavering optimism in this thread would bring a tear to a glass eye. I look forward to the inevitable mass muppet disappointment. Pogba is not coming back.

1) I think it was more an issue with how Fergie treated him - he's spoke positively about the club since he left.
2) Barcelona can't afford him - rumours suggest Madrid are put off by the absurd fee.
3) Because he's a very good midfielder (may well be the best in the world in 2/3 years), will be a big statement of intent from the club and Jose, our rivals wouldn't be able to get him, and there is a guaranteed sell-on value.

However I do agree that he won't come here, and that Kroos (if available for £40m) would be a great signing!

Go check Turin on google maps. Then check Turin winters! Let's just say there's a reason why Del Piero wore gloves in the winter.

And we are not getting flipping Toni Kroos why would he leave Madrid?

The transfer fee for Pogba really doesn't matter .. He pays for himself in terms of merchandising .. We would easily make back what we pay for him and more plus if he wants to leave in four years or so get a possible bigger fee than we paid in n the first place

I'd rather spend 40m on Kante and give Herrera the playing time and space to create for a dynamic frontline of Zlatan, Rashford, Martial and Mkhitargaryan.

It seems unlikely that Pogba would decide to come to us but with the pull of Mourinho and the supposed "project", maybe.......we starting to attract in some bigger stars, there's good youth products coming through.

It could be that Woody and Jose could sell him on all the positives and convince him that he's the final piece in the puzzle to take us back to the top. The prodigal son returns to fulfill his destiny of taking United back to the pinnacle of the game etc......You never know. You certainly can't discount the ego of a footballer in all this.

Have you any evidence whatsoever that he wants Madrid?

I am very confident we will get him if we are as keen as suggested.

thing is, I don't think we would have even wasted our time without being sure the player would have liked to come, we already have been in contact with his agent which is obvious. Mino would have already have told us if his client would have wanted to come or not and the cost it would take. Pogba clearly wouldn't mind coming to us. He and his agent would have already agreed a salary deal and fee before we even started to bid to Juve. the only issue is Madrid, he may have been holding out for them and we are option B. seems Madrid are pulling out so it's just to negotiate with Juve. at least, that's how it's playing out in my head.

I don't think anybody knows what Pogba wants. It seems to me like he'll go to the team that offers him the most money.

Since he left Pogba's spoke highly about both the club and the city (said he's got many mates here and felt like a mancunian, and that he was saddened to leave but felt he needed to for the sake of his career). There are no burned bridges here, so the only question is whether he's interested or not.

Edit: here's the interview, from January 2015:

"I'm impatient," Pogba, 21, told FourFourTwo. 'It was the feeling I had. The coach (Ferguson) had faith in me but didn't put me on. He said that I was too young.

"He said 'your time will come' but it never did. It didn't come. But it does not mean I will speak ill of Manchester United. I love the club."

In an earlier interview, Pogba had said the final straw at United had come when Ferguson picked full-back Rafael ahead of him in midfield.

Pogba said: "It was a very, very difficult moment for me because I was in love with Manchester and I was a Mancunian.

Pretty much, and whether Juve will obey.

This.

I can believe some of the skepticism on here at teh idea Pogba would want to cone to United, double or even triple his earnings and play in the PL for its one and only mega club.

I expect we will throw a Rooney/Ibra sized pay offer at him and he will come running.

He can become a true superstar at United playing in the world's most watched league.

That article from Jason Burt and John Percy has drawn me back into this. If we have a clear run, we have a good chance. We will throw money at Juve, and with Raiola involved we have a real shot at this. Why must I get my hopes up?!

So in an ideal world, where would Pogba fit into a team to be at his best? I mean what type of midfielder(s) would you need alongside him for him to flourish?
