Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Can we get a list of the people who have posted the most in this thread. I want to see all the muppets :).

Wasn't he pretty much the first midfielder (I use that term loosely) we bought in years? During the barren midfield years before, even the likes of Charlie Adams were briefly considered by various posters. If that doesn't scream desperate I don't know what does.
I think you mean striker??

If this transfer doesn't go through after all this, the inner muppet in me would die forever!

wow if nurse things it's close, that means pogba must be in training sessions. How did we all miss that? :P

he either thinks he's moving for Le Havre or else Pogba had been playing for us for the past 10 years and no one noticed

I remember that thread, and that wasn't the argument at all. People, myself included, said that if Pogba hadn't acted as though reserve football was beneath him and had shown the application that the likes of Tunnicliffe did then he'd had already made the first team by the time he left because his talent was never in question.

Pogba's problem back then was that he thought he should be playing in the first team and his response was to make little effort in reserve games rather than step it up to prove SAF wrong.

You'd think the past 2 or 3 weeks (feels longer I know) would change people opinions on the matter. The way Raiola acts. It was over the day he became Pogba's agent.

The big question is - if we actually sign him, does that make this thread ineligible for the 'Muppet Thread of the Summer' award?

No it is perfectly eligible just unlike previous editions this one looks to have a happy ending

It is already the muppet thread of the season and will go down as the biggest one in the history of the caf.

Pogba wouldn't have suited LVG's style either. The manager and the style of play are very critical. For the likes of schneiderlin and Herrera, LVG was completely unsuitable. BFS less so. Under Mourinho, both Herrera and schneiderlin will do much better if given the chance.
Considering it seemed as though our midfield were chained to the ground for most matches, I can't really see how anyone could have made an impact.

Cant wait for Pogba and Lingard to do their dab stuff, should be fun next season with the younger guys.

Lingard can dab all he wants but hopefully that will be mostly on the bench or in the stands.

What's clear is that every transfer related thread should be made by me from now on.

Have we signed Paul Pogba?

Do people tweeting that we might be about to soon change that?

I'll be excited about signing him when I know we're signing him. Not when people post things on twitter. I'm constantly baffled by transfer muppetry.

I remember that thread but I'm sure it was a different one. That was people arguing he was lazy when every game I saw and everything said about him from training staff, other players etc. suggested the exact opposite. It was just sour grapes because he was leaving...although I'm sure someone would have brought Tunnicliffe up as for some unknown reason everyone seemed to think he was an answer to something at the time.

I remember another thread where people were having a go at me because someone randomly said I was comparing Tunnicliffe to Lee Cattermole and that this was a massive insult, and I was trying to point out that Tunnicliffe would actually be pretty succesful if he made it to the same level as Lee Cattermole...even though I never even mentioned Lee Cattermole until after someone told me to stop comparing Tunnicliffe to him.

Somehow Pogba leaving made people think Tunnicliffe was a million times better than he ever was.

What's really crazy is some people once said Fellaini would sort out our midfield. Can you believe that?

Tbf, I was one of them (although in the newbies). After ages of not signing anyone in the midfield, I thought that Fellaini as a DM would solve our issue of being too soft. Plus I was enthusiastic because of THAT performance against us. Got to say, I got that completely wrong. :D

Tancredi still up to his usual bullshite? I have unfollowed him, it felt good.

Happy Pogba week everyone.

So reliable journalists posting updates on the transfer on twitter with links to articles means nothing? I don't get that at all. No it doesn't speed up the deal but it does keep people informed on what's going on and how close the deal might be. You just have to look past the bullshit that gets posted on twitter and go to the likes of Di Marzio for updates.

There's nothing like seeing a positive tweet about a transfer from the likes of Di Marzio or the BBC

Well I just became a full member about a month/2 months ago :(
Same here, and a lot of my posts have been in this thread too. I don't understand what's sad about it, there's not a great deal else to talk about during off-season. The Pogba thread was always going to be the most active.

I can clearly picture it - Pogba, all smiles, wearing the new kit saying he loves the club and how much he wants to win trophies with us. Mourinho stood in the background grinning.

Do we United fans deserve this window?

Probably not but then comparatively we've had a tough time of it over the last few years. I know fans of other clubs would prob spit in my face if they heard me saying that, as we've still spent a fortune over those years and won a trophy. I mean compared to what most of our fans have known in their lives supporting us.
