When do we get back from tour and what other pre season friendlies do we play after Galatasary?

After Galatasaray we have Rooney's testimonial against Everton, and the Community Shield against Leicester

The press conference was outside though, pitch side.

It was not planned to be outside, circumstances forced it.

Anyway, Crerand is not saying that it is done, he is just wondering if it is really done why the transfer has not been announced yet

Pogba alone won't solve our problems. He is used to having top players around him. Even if you take Pogba out of Juventus. They still have a better centre midfield than us.

Carrick/Schweinsteiger - Old/no legs injury prone. Herrera/Schneiderlin are promising but are no where near top level yet.

I think for Pogba to do well. We would need Kroos/Matuidi also. You could argue that buying Kroos & Matuidi is better option.

Pogba is not a Luka Modric the type of player that will dictate play he is someone who needs to be as forward as possible to be effective.

If you look at the players Pogba had around (Pirlo, Vidal & Marchisio) him in the 4 years he has been a Juventus and look at what they have no now compared to our current Central midfield the gulf is huge.

Pjanić was my number no.1 target this summer. Disappointed we didn't move for him.

Not saying I would not sign Pogba I still would but I think he needs a proper partner to truly thrive. We have too many squad/peripheral players, that extend beyond just the midfield.

I don't see the likes of Young, Lingard, Jones, Rojo, Valencia & Memphis setting the world alight for us. We know what most of them are capable of few of them should have been shipped years ago.

Schneiderlin, Herrera and Pogba make for a good midfield imo with Pogba being the more advanced of the 3. (Don't think we'll see that for a while as Rooney/Mata won't feature and we all know Rooney will be playing for a while at least)

Jose also has the option to play with a midfield 3 of TFM, Schneiderlin and Pogba which I think would be very balanced should Jose have enough trust in TFM.

@Acquire Me is still convinced this is done, and that is good enough for me... until the next time Madrid get mentioned and I lose my shit again.

With Ed arriving in China then I would think that the deal has been finalised. It's all about waiting on juve now to announce Higuain. There's not a chance they would be happy to keep Pogba now after all the negotiations and €100m+ on the table. The offer alone they will not get again from any team.
He's ours and it's just a matter of time before we make the announcement.

People are fecking idiots. There is nothing in the Crerand interview, I've seen it. Stop clinging onto it.

Paddy Crerand is an idiot who should keep his mouth shut, remember his stand up row that LVG was categorically definitely not getting sacked? He went less than 24 hours later

Anyone seen pictures of Ed Woodward in China?

The look on Ed Woodward face looks like a man that just bought a brand new car.

The Pogba deal is done now.

Wasnt he aready gone by then? I remember Paddy was giving some radio host shit because of (truthful) reports that's Van Gaal had been asked to leave? Paddy really needs to pick his battles more wisely.

What have Schneiderlin or Herrera done to suggest they are good enough?

Both clubs will discuss about it, but a buyout clause leads to free agency while a release clause is just a transfer fee set by contract.
Why would Napoli, who've been very vocal about not selling to Juve, agree to make the payment easier for them?

hes not even an elite midfielder, cant believe people have written 589 pages, for this, in amost every big transfer page for a big name player, I`ve only commented 2-3 times, and that just to tell people that the deal is not happening, and these twitter ITK are full of shit, and make a living out of lying

You're clearly in the know about nothing.

Guardian reported juve have rejected 92mil. So that's 84m and 92m rejected. i feel once we hit that 100m pound mark, hes ours.
Yeah, let's just chuck money at problems..... like Madrid do and we laugh at them.

Heavens forbid we see if Jose is as good as he thinks he is and can make decent players into a team?

What was he expected to say? confirm rumours and say 'yep, he's off lads, lets rejoice!'. It's called sticking up for your manager, something some of our own fans could learn from. the journo was out of order for pressing the issue less than 24 hrs after we'd won the cup.

Probably not act like a complete loony and put the phone down. If that's what you call sticking up for the manager, I hope he doesnt go into the field of public relations. A simple "I've never heard anything" or "those are just rumours to the best of my knowledge" would have done. Not going mental about something factual and ending up with egg on his face. Paddy always wants to be the big voice in the room, so you cant have it both ways. Either be a United spin doctor or always be factual. You cant have it both ways and retain any credibility.

Paddy is a bigger muppet than half the people in here.

Probably shouldnt act like a complete loony and put the phone down. Nobody forced him to go on a radio show when the rumours are rife our manager had just been asked.

See jokes are always a valuable contributor!

So, no pestering for updates?

To be honest I'm not trying to dictate but I feel (answering your question specifically) any updates should be fairly obvious within the last couple of pages or so whether they be credible or not. Certainly if it's something deemed significant enough you'll see a thread title change.

Maybe clarifying the details of these updates is preferable , ie are they reliable, what can we take from them etc?

Hopefully none of this will matter as we'll for sure soon anyway.

Hopefully this can be announced asap. Are we travelling back to Manchester after the game (and before we play in Sweden)? Gathered from what Jose said we are, I'm which case surely needs to be done next week.

The post is about release clauses in theory. And it's unadvised for a club to reject a release clause, when you offer 4*25m, you offer 100m and if the release is 100m you matched it. A player would be right to go to court if the club reject it.

We all know this is overpriced, which is mainly down to our stubbornness not wanting to sell. At this point you could offer less for Kroos or Vidal and get a better player.

Wouldn't say better. I think what United have lacked for a long time is a player in midfield who can drive with the ball.

Mourinho mentioned that he knows the profile of player he wants. That means, if we don't get Pogba, we won't get Kroos or Vidal, because they simply aren't the same types of players. We'd move on to targets who have similar playing styles.

Having said all of that, if you lot get Higuain for 85M - a soon to 29 year old, who is known to flop in big games, then 100M for Pogba is justified, in my opinion.

Comparing it to Higuian then it's totally justified. Higuain fees is mind boggling.

Were there any new rumors of Juve rejecting a 92mn bid? At what point do you guys say feck it and move on to new targets?
Some say the deal is done and it's all rehashed news because the journos have nothing new to report.

We will all know more by 10pm I reckon.
