That's fine. However, we shouldn't be talking about 'top poteniall' for that price. Must be a finished and deadly article. I think it's reasonable that some of us thinks it's crazy taking a huge risk at 145M Euros on someone with potential. I don't think there should be any criticism if some posters feel this way. It's totally reasonable.

It's difficult to gauge as I said, where he is. He's played enough games for Juventus for them to consider him regular. The fans loved him. The club would only accept nuts money. He is worth the 'risk'. I think the risk is minimal.

Wasn't there an article that they can afford his clause without selling Pogba? It's hard to believe Pogba wouldn't give this team another year, because it is immense.

Sounds like things are getting close to completion now. Presumably Juventus will want to get Higuain announced before Pogba to United is confirmed.

Depends on how you look at it. In 2009 Madrid paid €94m for Ronaldo. So you could also spin Higuain as being the second most expensive player.

I seriously hope the Pogba deal is already signed off! Imagine them keeping Pogba too, incredible team!

Fantastic news, it basically confirms the Pogba deal. They're obviously paying Higuain's clause with the Pogba fee.

There's is no way Juve can afford a straight cash transfer for Higuain with the players they've already signed.
The only way Juve can do this without selling Pogba is if they included some players, which Napoli has refused.

I don't believe he's had a medical tbh. Every transfer that Juve have completed this window, they have made a fuss over medicals and plastered pictures all over twitter. I call bollocks.

Competing with average players will get you exactly what we got for the last 3 years.

Barca, Madrid and other top clubs are constantly breaking transfer records and are winning all the major honours both at home and abroad.

Perhaps there is a correlation there somewhere...

Yeah, but Real had money to spend, Juventus don't have that kind of money, they need to sell(big) to make such a big signing(Higuain's close is 94m)

It's mad that just a few short years ago some scoffed st paying £19m for a 29 year old RVP

£75m for 28 year old Higuain

23 y/o Pogba for 100m or 28 y/o Higuain for 94m?

Surely if you're paying a release clause, you must pay it all at once?

Not really. Usually release clauses aren't enforceable. But in a lot of club's case it's used as a form of PR to the clubs fans "hey look don't blame us, there's nothing we can do". Clubs will then negotiate on how to pay the release clause.

I am not invested in this whole saga as most muppets here but i dont understand if 120 mil. euros isnt crazy enough, why extra 25 makes such a huge difference?!

Remember that one of the italian papers ran the headline a few days back "Higuain IN, Pogba OUT". Looks like they got some good info on this one!
