Including wages it will be close to a billion by the time he finishes his career here.
And by that time how much would the club have made by then? People moaned about the Glazers taking out 700m from the club to service the debts and are now moaning about them spending 150m to invest in team, when will it stop?

Maybe Juventus were waiting for this deal to be concluded before they signed off on the Pogba deal.

I would have thought it would have been the other way round if anything. They'd need to confirm they have the pogba money wrapped up before spending big on Higuain

Woah, that's insane if true. Hope this means the Pogba deal is a done dealio and this thread can be finally put to rest.

€94m for Higuain and €120m plus for Pogba? Football really is on its arse.
Depends on the angle you're looking at it. Seems like it's prospering more than ever and is garnering more and more money for clubs to do crazy things with.

The fans will be less pissed off if they first bring in a marquee player before selling one.

Imagine how pissed off they'd be if they sold Pogba and then bought Owen, Valencia, and Obertan.
I think they will be more pissed spunking 94m of the 120 they get for Pogba on a 29 year old.

Our deal is practically done. We might just be hashing out some nitty gritty details with the agent for his fee.

Doubt it. Higuain is a quality player. Even without Pogba their team will arguably be stronger than it was last season.

It's done then. No way Juve would drop that amount of money without a guarantee they're getting it back.

They are just going all out to win the Champions League as quickly as possible but Im not sure buying Higuain gives them the best chance.

Maybe if they kept Pogba, they would be formidable.

Higuain - Dybala

Pogba

Pjanic - Marchisio

Khedira

Imagine if Pogba stays though, and Juve cons a midtable PL team/Chinese/PSG into blowing 100m on Pereyra and Lemina. Their team will be up there with the Spanish Big 3, Bayern and Dortmund as CL favorites, probably better than all except Barca (on paper).

I voted no.

Not even is Pogba incredibly overpriced, but we need defenders more than we need him.

100 million can buy a couple of the best defenders in the the world, and would have more of a positive effect than buying Pogba would.

Wow and even with that record Napoli have been nowhere near the league?

Strange thing is that Juve don't need him to walk the lead why risk such a high fee.

They are now aiming for European glory

My thinking is, why has he had a medical before activating his clause, and also why Juve not made a huge deal of his medical like they do all the players they sign?
They have activated the clause, haven't they? Or are they saying the medical was done first?

It has all happened rather hush hush hasn't it. Not sure why.

As far as I remember his Champions League scoring record isn't even good. Benzema made his look crap anyway.

Higuain is the 2nd most expensive player in history. Cost more than Ronaldo.

Well good for you. There is no use having the best defenders with no proper players in front of them to control the game. I would have a better attack and midfield than a strong defense. Because if you dont have the players in front of them to protect the ball, your defenders are going to come under pressure no matter what. And if they keep getting pressured they will let in goals no matter how good the defenders are individually.

Your theory would have made sense if we only had 100m to spend.
Since we have way more than that, your theory doesn't make any sense.

Chinese window is shut and PSG know they can do far better.

Yeah that's what I mean. They are already negative even after the Morata sale.

They can probably offload Zaza and couple of young players but will be still around 70 or something net spend which overshoots their transfer budget.
Some explanation maybe on the player amortization. The 94m or even the 47m don't matter, it's all accounting related, not liquidity or cash flows.

We don't have unlimited funds. 100m spent here means 100m less to be spent elsewhere.

We dont need 100m to spent elsewhere. We havent even sold anyone yet. Im sure we can make close to 25-30m from selling players and use towards another defender IF we need to buy someone after pre-season.

Higuain having a medical in Madrid.... Pogba can just go do his with the Dolphins while in Miami
