The fact that Raiola has left for Miami, suggests to me that negotiations have been concluded. The papers just don't know it yet.
Who told you he's flying to Miami? Was it not the papers? He could be sleeping in his bed. All we know for sure is what we've heard from Jose and Mino. However, whatever is going to happen, there's an indication it will be soon.

Di Marzio says he flew to Miami today.

What's being reported is that they want United to pay the agent's fees.
Penny pinching at its finest. :wenger:
If this 20% cut was a contractual agreement Raiola had with Juve, surely they can't just refuse to pay up? Or are were these demands made recently?

Surely that 20% agreement is legally binding? I can't imagine Mino not having that arrangement legally secured?

Absolutely nothing's changed. Mourinho is just being coy as usual. saying he doesn't want to speak about an individual, but leaving the book open by saying 2/3 targets for CM. "We will close one soon" as in it'll be done soon.

Weve already been told Madrid tried but pogba has a deal with us already. Juve are tying to sting every last penny, we are just making them sweat a little is all.

Obviously nervous people thinking because Madrid missed out on Gomes means they will go for pogba - they went for Gomes because they didn't want pogba remember?

How do you know it's in United's favor? Madrid would have decided to come back in to the deal and hence Riola would have gone to Pogba to discuss it further? Not trying to rub it in or anything, just really curious why everyone is believing it's a done deal when the agent himself is saying otherwise?

Raiola is right to demand his cut of the deal from Juventus.

Why? What has he done to deserve a 10-20% cut (if reports are to be believed) of the transfer fee?

I understand the part about doing his best for his client, but there's a lot of self-enriching involved in this deal as well. Ludicrous money for simply being a glorified PA.

The sad state of football these days is that there are now three parties involved in a transfer: the club, the player and the arsehole agent.

I believe he owns part of Pogba's commercial rights or something.

Why would he travel to Miami to discuss a possible move to Real?
He'd be able to do that over the phone in a matter of seconds, for him to interrupt his holiday must be something that needs sorting asap would it not?

My fecking word. Some of you people.

So Madrid backed out of trying for Pogba because of the price and Gomes was their second choice but somehow they let Barcelona beat them because they wouldn't do better than the 35m+20m (half of what Pogba will be) Barcelona is paying and so now they are going to circle back and pay the money they originally weren't going to pay??

That scenario makes feck all sense.

I thought it was done?

It is. We are not pulling the plug. In case you wonder, it would be possible for other teams to bid as much as us and make a simular deal. Its just that money as big as this and a advanced deal as this is not just a phone call away. So relax a little and enjoy the ride.

Deals can still go wrong I think it's worth remembering, get excited but not carried away.

The figure/% is part of an agreement between him and the club, as in its on paper if reports are correct. He's done/doing a job and should be paid, what's the problem?

Why would Juve try to sign Higuain when they could get Icardi who's basically a younger higuain for a cheaper price.

Real will have cash lying around, add 60-70m to it. They could find the money, i think theyre publicly trying to make Pogba push for the move. And have got their mouthpiece Marca to help them.
Marca hasn't mentioned Pogba to Real? Infact they've said quite the opposite, including throwing a dig at United by saying Varane has rejected Mourinho.
When reports were coming in yesterday of Real being back in for him, a Marca reporter quickly dismissed them reports saying they're still not interested.

They're not going to suddenly find €120m out of nowhere, especially when they've said they're priced out of a move.

Juve already have Dybala, plus Juve I think struggle with high wages (of the powerhouse clubs).

I think if Higuain it could be for Atléti but it's hard to say. Higuain could be an option for Juve yes but there's certainly some other options.

Juve could easily blow the Pogba money on someone like Mahrez and play him behind a striker too.

They are limited in options, truly world-class players leave (except the club made ones).

Why would Raiola's fee be holding it up? He would have known beforehand how much he's getting paid. Otherwise, he wouldn't have taken the offer to Juve

I don't understand the people at Juventuz, the forum. They're pissed off at United trying to sign Pogba, but have no problem if Madrid or Barca eventually signs him? What mentality is that?

Because for some bizarre reason they see United as beneath them. But they are ok with him going to Spain because in their minds it's ok as they are the only two sides bigger than Juve.

Juve only play in a 41,000k stadium OT is almost twice the size and they haven't even won the Champions league in over 20 years United have won it twice in that time. 10 years ago they were relegated and playing in Serie B, they didn't even win a major trophy for nearly 10 years in that decade United won 10 trophies. So they really have no reason to be looking down their noses at United because we have only won one trophy in the last 3 years.

Having said all that i'm sure most Juve fans are much more reasonable and proud that they support one of the worlds biggest clubs without the need to feel insecure about other clubs being bigger than them.

Maybe I'm just negative minded but I thought thw opposite. He said he wouldn't be surprised if Pogba (obviously didnt name him, but made it obvious) wasn't the player they signed in that position
Seemed like a basic deflection talk to me. He made it sound as if Pogba was number 1 on the shortlist for that position and in praising Woodward to such a large degree, that makes me conclude that it's all but done. Think people are getting last minute jitters, but this deal is done for me.

No problem with him being paid, it's just that that figure seems extortionate for what he actually does.

It's almost as if clubs have to buy agents rather than players thesedays.

Could it be that Raiola is flying out because he needs to discuss a new offer from Madrid? This happened around the time that their alternative midfield target was snapped up by Barca after all. They'll be desperate to save face now....£100m desperate?

Deep breath.....and.....No

The panic that has set in is incredible. We're man utd, we do what we want. It's an indictment of the state of the fan base, people throwing blame around, revisionism, it's crazy. This is a probable world record deal, it's not going to be done on any of our timelines, everything has to be right for each party. People need to chill and wait for updates, whatever happens, happens. Jose has backup plans and we should trust him and the club. This is what ed has craved for years, the chance to stick it to Perez and flash his cock about, so let's chill and stop the faux outrage. Seems people are more worried about being embarrassed by what other clubs fans will say if it doesn't happen rather than actually upset about not signing the player. The ambition is there, just need to get the deal over the line, simples.

But would he really need to see him face to face to do that? Couldn't he ask him over the phone?
Seems a lot of effort to make to fly 5000 or so miles just to say "Madrid have made an offer" when he can phone him in seconds and say things have changed?

Why would he need to fly out to discuss that? Telephones were invented some time ago for a reason!

It's a reflection of the deal, it's a sliding scale and not a set fee. That's Juve's problem for agreeing to the deal, which is why they want us to pay it, by all accounts. Stop being ridiculous.

I'm trying to enjoy it, this time yesterday I believed it was done. I still do, I just have that slight doubt. I know it is not the end of the world if we fail to sign Pogba, I just have invested so much time into this saga  All we can do is wait.
I do dislike the negativity that comes flooding in here as soon as something minutely negative comes out, which normally turns out to be false, later on.

Dybala is a second striker, they looking for someone to lead the line.
