Also why on Earth would the transfer be nixed. Mourinho obviously wants him and has wanted him for some time. He won't just give up easily.
I have absolutely no inside sources and am going for pure guesswork, but my reading on the situation is that Pogba is still holding out for Madrid. Knows they won't match United's offer if it became a bidding war. So Pogba is in 2 minds whether to stay at Juve another year and wait for Madrid or join United on a short contract (3 years) and hope to join Madrid in 2/3 years from United.
United probably are wary of it so will want to try offering him a longer contract. Also I think Juve will be hard to negotiate with, they'll want to keep him but will sell if they get 100m and Pogba says he wants to go
So all in all, I still think it will be a tough one to pull off

There is also the possibility of this being why Madrid are currently hawking James around the rich clubs including, ironically, ourselves - so that they can put together a package for Pogba that matches ours. There's little doubt that Pogba would prefer to go there if he could.
The only reason for the delay has to be Pogba himself. He's using us as leverage, I expect him to sign a new contract at Juventus and sign for Madrid next season.
The contract offered is 5 years, and Pogba will need to stay 2 years at Juventus, not one (Madrid transfer ban kicking it next year).

Real won't offer more money next summer than we are, so why would Juve happily sell him to them? That theory doesn't make sense.

I'm not saying I don't believe you but it would seem strange that Mourinho would "nix" the deal - why would he do that? Unless he thinks the price has just got out of hand and he feels that he could get two or three good players for the money but I hope that's not the case as that sounds like us going down the Darmian / Valencia / Obertan type route again.

The question was who that person is and how that person could know. You don't have to name names, but occupation etc would help.

Therefore it could even be the case that new issues have arisen fairly recently (including Pogba's own personal desires) which have thrown the whole deal into jeopardy.

Surely you can predict accurately what the ITKs are going to say. Just read the theme of the speculation. That is how you do it.
