Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

My patience is wavering just want this to end now the longer it goes on the less likely he is to join.

I am strictly talking about transfers that United, in its current situation, can pull off and has been able to pull of in the past few years. How about you name me one world class player we have got in past six-seven or so years with our 'unlimited' budget? Even better, name me one player that United landed whom either Bayern, Real or Barca were concretely interested in? Thiago? Vidal? Ramos? Kroos? James Rodriguez? Bale? And do not name that one player who was being moved out of the club but couldn't go to his favorite one because of FFP and later ended up making the switch in one year anyway. We got Mata who was being moved out of Chelsea and I don't think Real, Barca or Bayern were in for him. Those are United's two most expensive signings recently. So there is a pattern you choose not to see.

1. Juventus do not want to sell.
2. If a world class players wants to force a move away, his likely destination will most probably be Real, Barca or Bayern going by previous six-seven years of history.

Frankly, it baffles me how you cannot see the signs out there. Again, let me reiterate, I would be more than happy to be wrong in this case and of course there is a 0.99% chance that a series of events will lead Pogba to United.
This couldn't be more wrong. None of these signings we contested with any of those clubs. We didn't land Vidal because we weren't sure of his rehabilitation after his injury. Bayern bought him when we had no interest. Same with James.

By that logic we could say we landed darmian (whom juve and Bayern were linked to), martial (whom most big clubs were linked to), depay (who was wanted by Bayern an PSG). Real signed Hernandez who we didn't want as well.

I don't understand on what basis you say there is no evidence of something happening. Di Marzio (spot on with most news especially Italian league related), L'Equipe (reliable in France) have all said that Pogba has agreed terms with us. Clearly something is definitely going on. It's obvious and .99% is plain nonsense. It's more than 50% frankly.

So when you say none of those signings were contested, I am to take your word for it and when you mention the players we actually bought and mention the clubs in contention for them, again I am supposed to take your word for it? Why? And how come you can fabricate how each of those transfers happened to suit your argument but I cannot do the same without it being discarded by you?

You mention the names we didn't get because of our "supposed" lack of interest despite those players being heavily linked with United (Vidal, Thiago, Kroos) in exactly the same way Pogba is. But you think Pogba interest is concrete. Is there any reason behind such weird selective view at United's transfer business?
And you think getting Darmian and Depay is as difficult and as heavily contested as getting Vidal, Thiago, Kroos, James, Muller etc? You're trolling aren't you?

**Martial is not a world class established player so he doesn't qualify at all for your argument.
**Hernandez was loaned to Real and he was behind all the strikers and even the ballboys in pecking order. He was United's most loved and potent striker when he was here.

How does that make any sense  the guy's just finished the Euros and now he is on holiday. Probably won't happen until he gets back into training.

If Pogba doesn't sign according to my preferred timeline, which of course is directly correlated to my senses of boredom, anxiety, and self-esteem, then I feel he is less likely to join.

We all said the same about Vidal at the copa America last year.We also said juventus are spending there money they got for Vidal so his departure doesn't look that bad.In the end nothing happened bar a mass suicide in the Vidal thread. Brady told my cousin pogba is coming but like yous all I'm still nervous and sceptical just for the reason I didn't hear it from brady himself.

Vidal was completely different. It was going to happen until he wrecked his knee, then we quite rightly put the deal off. Obviously anything can happen, but it won't happen in the next few days. The reason why it's all gone quiet is because there is "no more news". He will return from his holiday, tell him he is leaving and the deal will be done.

Wasn't the Vidal saga a bit different in that, everything seemed to have been agreed, but United pulled out due to his injury he sustained a few months before the world cup had started and not knowing whether he would return back to his level, given that he was no where near his level at the world cup. Saying that, I personally don't think he has returned to that level of dynamism.
In terms of Pogba, it's likely fairly simple in that if Pogba asks to leave and or United pay the money to both club and player it should be a done deal.

The Fabregas thread in 2013 was the standard of muppetry at the time. It was quite something.

Who is Brady?

I just don't believe this talk of Real not being able to afford him. They just don't want him as badly as we do and hopefully Paul is aware of that. I guess you can argue that Paul should hold us letting him go against us to balance things out. interesting times ahead.

The talk isn't that they can't afford him, its that they don't want to match our valuation of him and his agent fee.

Raoul give us your gut instinct on the transfer, will it happen?.

Forget about my gut - go with Di Marzio's reporting. This will happen unless Pogba himself prefers to stay at Juve, in which case it obviously won't. If not, we will go for someone like Matuidi and everything will be just fine.

I honestly don't think Real are as cash rich as everybody thinks. A lot of their money came from Perez himself, or tradionally the Spanish banks with very low interest loans.

I doubt they'll be getting a bid of the size we're supposedly offering again next summer.
The only club that will pay £123m for Pogba is us. Pogba isn't interested in going to France, it seems Flo doesn't rate him that much and other clubs don't have the money.

Of course it makes sense. The longer this drags out the less likely it is to happen. If it doesn't happen in the next couple of weeks I would be inclined to move on to another target. Too many times over the last few years we have put all over eggs in one basket and wound up with Felliani on deadline day.

Paul doesn't need to be involved personally until it is time for him to do the medical. His being on holiday makes no difference to the negotiation process.

I'd prefer Kante, Andre gomes and maybe if we had the funds. Get rid of Schweinsteiger, Herrera, Fellaini and have Kante, Schneiderlin, Carrick, Andre Gomes, Isco, Pereira and by almeans Rooney as midfield options.
Why Isco? He's dreadful and Kante isn't going to come here, he's got his choice of every club in Europe and he's only had one good season anyway.

And Juve apparently don't want him to go anyway. He's 23, so his value will remain stable for a few years yet.

We're the only ones that are willing to pay the £100 mill. Real walked away and that means this opportunity probably won't come again for Juve.

It also shows Pogba that we mean business and really want him here. Real have been luke warm at best, that won't have gone unnoticed.

If we get Fabregas instead of Pogba I will not be impressed given reports we are interested in him. Fabregas is an unwanted c^nt.

No news means there is behind the scenes work going on. If pogba wasn't convinced in going a press release would have came out stating he was staying but I fear it's now turning into contract negotiations for him to remain at juventus and with riaola saying pogba could stay at juventus is leaving it open for him to get more money for his client.

The way I see it (from piecing together news stories and from simple logic), is that Pogba met with his agent on Mon/Tue, laid out his intentions, then set Mino off to work getting everyone back together to thrash it out. This definitely wont be done in an afternoon. Now PP has gone off on his hols and is letting his agent do the dirty work while he jives to trap groove, or whatever the hell you kids are calling it.

His agent is already being coy and not making any big noises either way. The leaks from both sides (or from related parties sticking their noses in) will dry up as nobody wants to piss off the other one during big negotiations. Just have to wait for a big break, probably from Castles or Di Marzio.

Juventus can barely afford a new contract for Pogba never mind the agent fee Riaola is probably demanding. We are definitely in favour when it comes to that and I'm sure he would prefer Pogba to move to us as his paycheck would be astronomical.

Marca today reporting that Pogba wants to go back to United with €13m per year agreed, 5 year deal?

Thoughts guys?

Just come home from work and jumped straight onto this thread and still no news . It's like groundpog day again
