Has he really played?

A game and a half and looked poor as shit. Totally unlike the player we have seen this season. Just like Pogba has been totally unlike he is at Juve.

There are ofcourse more examples of other great players that have played a very poor tournement.

Muller, Ibrahimovic, Lewandowski, De Bruyne, Carrasco,

Are they all shite you think ?

It just proofs these international games are worth shite to judge player quality. Especially if you are focussing on only a few games.

Calm your tits. He is being played as a DM, which is not his position. He has done what Deschamp's told him to; obviously he is not allowed to go too far up the pitch and leave the French defence vulnerable.

It's not his performance that's an issue, it's his attitude. Cocky and lethargic. He was the same in the UCL final too.

I seem to remember Martial coming on as a sub and changing the game (but that may have been before the tournament. Still a bit strange for Deschamps to black list him. Either way Pogba has been ok in this tournament but not his normal self at all

I have to disagree, I think he is showing great discipline by staying deep down and not taking any risks. Obviously, he would want to go further up the pitch.

Social media is raving about Sissoko... meanwhile Jose and Woody are throwing a wolf of wall street style celebration

Pogba seems to be playing a very limited defensive role in this final. Great to see that he can also play as a disciplined defensive midfielder. Although i do think he is wasted there.

He's touched the ball more than any other player so far

I am actually aware of that, I checked the stats before I posted that, but he is just invisible, not influencing the game at all.

Jeez,

Kroos: "Meh i'd prefer Modric"
Kane: "Meh id prefer Lukaku"
Pogba: "Meh, he's shit"

We don't deserve big signings.

You can see how frustrated he's getting by the lack of movement up top.

He's completely wasted playing a deeper role. He's most dangerous when he's driving forward.

I used to think he was overrated. Now, it looks like we are buying him, he is obvioulsy not overrated.

Who cares how much he costs, he's better than what we have so he'll improve us. That's the important thing.

And after the last World Cup and the Copa America just gone would you pay 100m for Messi on those performances alone?

Pogba playing in a deeper role and Martial not getting a look in.. What have France got against United?

It depends on what influence the coach wants from him. Clearly Deschamps wants him to solidify the midfield are and play safe (you know Deschamps type). If he just dropped his position to go hunting, then there is a problem. Show that he has the right mentality tactically and he's only 23 years old. Some of the great midfielders were one dimensional or wasteful around this age (even Scholes, Pirlo...) This is not Fellaini role where getting involved defensively, laying up the ball for someone else and just try to get into the opponent half.

If anything, Pogba shows he has more influence in deep holding role and box to box role in this tournament than the Lampard role in games where Kante played the deep lying role. Good to see he can contribute even in these roles than simply Lampard role like with Juventus.

Mourinho tactic & formation is not dead static in game. While there are key specialists in team, these players would need to show they can be the influential and help bringing the tactic adaptability within game while still providing high level performance. It's rare ability. Pogba has shown just that.

£100m should get you a Messi/Ronaldo bracket player in my eyes but maybe I'm just living in the past.

You clearly are.

Strikers get a bit static when they don't have any faith in the midfielders seeing and executing the right pass. Pogba has to take some responsibility for that too. Lots of the ball and little impact.

This is how I mostly remember him looking in our youth strangely enough, I hope Mourinho knows what he's doing.

now do you lot see what I've been saying?

Pogba can't play deep. If we buy him, he have to be played in a three-man midfield, which means no Rooney. Otherwise, this is what you will see.

Side-ways passing, and moving the ball arond. Basically, a 100m Busquets without any of the defensive genius.

He's not going to play this role for us, so I don't know why anyone should be nervous. He's still doing a good job at the limited role he's been asked to play. Very disciplined.
