Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

He's a Lampard/Ballack/Gerrard type of player. I think he's overrated but he shouldn't be judged on his Euros when he's clearly being played out of position.

It's a travesty for the game that when the ball gets to the Portuguese box it's Matuidi and Sissoko handling and "creating" while Pogba sits deep. He's the only one in that midfield 3 that has the skillset to unlock the defense. Deschamps has put the shackles on him and it's hurting the team's overall play. Not worth 100M, but those ripping him for these performances is a lot like the "meh" reactions Griezmann got when he was being played out wide and putting in very so-so showings.

Nah, most know this isn't his game, it's just disappointing he's been given defensive responsibilities to be the furthest back of the 3 today, still not sure he's even an no.8 in a 2 man midfield for me though.

He's being played too deep.

I bet the people freaking out would still want to sign Kane and he was dogshit at the Euros.

Pogo been asked to play a role that particular highlights the weaknesses in his game that I mentioned.

I'd prefer to be signing someone like Kroos than Pogba!

100 million is a massive risk!

Kroos is proven in Spain & Germany - Pogba plays in crap league and in my opinion is far overrated

Mourinho would play him (should we get him) as the most advanced player in midfield - sees a No.10 as a "8.5 without the ball, and a 9.5 with the ball". That out s Pogba in position to exert his best qualities

He's playing in dm and Portugal have had zero chances. I'd say he is playing fine. Can't expect him to be creative as well though.

In my opinion he shouldn't be playing there at all though as France will never see the best of him there. I would suggest they have better options in that position

Thats what we all hope..

Deschamps is channeling his inner LVG: The art of playing a good player out of position and making them look average.

Pogba is looking completely uninterested in the role he's being asked to play. I don't blame him. But that combination of height, pace, strength, technique, dribbling, tackling, shooting and passing is something no other player in the world has. It's like someone created a perfect #8 for FM in the editor. So calling him overrated is just silly. You could make a case for overpriced, but there is a reason a big club like Juventus, which has people far more intelligent and knowledgeable about football matters than anyone in this forum, is so reluctant to sell him.

Guys, playing fine? We are talking about spunking 100m on this guy. For that world record fee, I want someone dominating a match, getting me off my seat and affecting the result

Playing completely out of position atm but is doing a very discipline job there. Just not £100m worth of good.. to look that good he needs to play further forward. Don't judge him on this game.

Calm your tits. He is being played as a DM, which is not his position. He has done what Deschamp's told him to; obviously he is not allowed to go too far up the pitch and leave the French defence vulnerable.

Kinda hoped and actually expected we'd spend the magical 100 million number on an even better or more special player than him, but it looks like this going to happen so what can you do.

If he improves he can become very good, and in the right setup he's obviously quite spectacular to watch. But I don't see him as future ballon d'or material at all. Maybe I'm underrating him though, but I would say that Martial is more talented as a forward than Pogba is as a midfielder.

In the end I guess I hope the 100 million won't be a burden for future transfers like the James transfer fee seems to be for Madrid, and while I think we're paying too much for Pogba it's probably a fair price looking at the market and considering we don't play Champions League and the interest of other clubs.

Common sense would dictate that the type of fans who are going to judge based on this tournament wouldn't want Kane either but whatever helps to make your point though.

Martial has looked dogshit aswell.
Martial has played like what 1 game and then got dropped? Clearly comparable.

Ah ok, So its 100m for a defensive midfielder. Ok got it

I don't know if it has been discussed, but is it not possible that playing alongside the likes of Vidal, Khedira, Marchisio and Pirlo made him look better?

Pogba's a great young player, tailor made for the premier league but let's get real here, if any other team was paying what we are, people on here would lose their shit over the utter ridiculousness of the fee involved. Should say all you need to know that a batshit insane club like Real decided that the fees and wages involved with this transfer were too insane even for them.

Imo Woodward would have wanted to go after a player Real wanted and beat them to him, especially after Perez publically questioned his ability in the transfer market after the De Gea fiasco last year. Mourinho undoubtedly seems a fan of Pogba but Woodward's ego is playing a part in what we're prepared to offer for him.

Paying for potential is fine but you don't break a world record for potential. Not a single world record transfer to date has been anything other than an end product world class player. Is Pogba world class right now? No he's a level or two below that and his fee should reflect that too but that's just my opinion.

I think playing against sub-standard players in the Italian league might be a bigger factor.

I'm not sure I've seen him play well in the Champions League, but I'm happy to be proved wrong, as I don't make a point of watching any Juventus matches.

I love how the Caf swings from one extreme to the other in the space of one match.

Can we make it 150 and sign this young french winger from Juve? Love him.

Seriously I don't know what people watching . Pogba needs to carry a different role and an important one as the heart of midfield. He is the midfield general since Deschamps changed to double pivot and moved Griezmann into the #9&1/2 role. Pogba'w tactical sense is perfect. People either love possession bossing or flashy all action burst through the middle run player than running the team by his well positioning.

See someone mentioned Ballack. Yes, one underrated player at his time in PL. He didn't look explosive like Lampard, but almost every good managers rated him highly back then. He was not flashy, but arguably his influence was greater than Lampard in certain game as he added steel, discipline to the team. He is good contribution to attack also.

It's not my money, if Pogba's available we buy him. Big statement to world football...

Of course, Pogba needs a Khedira to shine, so we need the same setup. It's a known fact, he's not a DM, he's an offensive player.
