Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

I think he's been over hyped over the last couple of seasons, the money quoted for him should be for an established world class player like bale or neymar.

Having said that i'd still be happy if we sign him, after all it's not my money, but i'd rather that money was spent on someone else.

Pretty much my take on it too. I hope he becomes worth the hype by way of consistency.

@sammsky1 Roy Keane is a good parallel? I don't get to see him much, but I've thought of him more like a Yaya Toure on amphetamines.

Is that a good example for those that don't get to watch many Juve matches?

Yaya and a young Roy Keane were similar players: in his first years at the club, he was very dynamic and had limitless stamina.

Keane evolved as he grew older and was at the peak of his powers in 1999 when he was a complete midfielder.

it's just the bitterness and dismissive manner in which he goes about it that irks some. He could be a little more subtle.

Lets hope it does not turn out to be another Di Maria type scenario.

We should challenge Juventuz to a game of something.
They hate us, mate. Came as a bit of surprise to me.

We are a crappy, delusional, small club. Something about the British empires and Ajax being more attractive. But whatever...

Like us making a downpayment for Falcao in 2013? who then went to join Monaco.

He has said a lot of nonsense in the past.
He also was adamant that we had adctually bought Falcao and we were only saying it was a loan because of Monaco and an FFP problem.

Question for the 25% of fans who voted No on the poll.

Is it just because of the cost or do you not want him period? How low would the fee have to be before you would consider it a good signing?

It's based on the fact that I've never really seen him play particularly well, for France or for Juve in the Champion's League, and a suspicion that it's style over substance that has driven his price so high. I'm certainly willing to accept that I'm wrong from regular Serie A watchers, as I don't follow that league at all. But given what I've seen of him, £100 million seems ridiculous, he seems more in the £30-40 million bracket, although I understand the non-directly-football related arguments in favour (e.g. marketability, swinging our cock around in Real's face, etc.).

209 pages. That's gotta be a cafe record in transfer sagas. Also, if this transfer is confirmed there will be more seed spilled here than a parkinsons group at a bird feeding.

I am offended by this comment. Please consider peoples feelings who have this horrible disease.

I'd have him back in a heartbeat, but yeah, not keen on £100m+. He is, IMO, worth nowhere near that money. £50m - £60m tops. That's just my honest opinion. I get potential, inflation & all that. I still don't think he's worth that amount of money or wages. Free market & all I suppose though, yeah. And like the rest have said, it's not our money. (Another argument I disagree with but not arsed to discuss it).

I wonder if we did a deal with him to go for all 3'clients and he gets the full dough if we get all 3 players

Aye that's what I think might be the case:

Judas will have to clear up what he meant but I read that as simply "we know the way to Raiola's belly".

For Railoa to be kicking over chairs to make Mkhitaryan's move happen you've got to imagine that we know Railoa's price.

Edit - It's also not beyond belief that Woodward is savvy enough to have recognised early that Mourinho has asked for 3 Raiola players and offered Railoa an incentive to make all 3 happen.

A generous bonus for Ibra and Mkhitaryan, an obscene bonus if he can make it a hat-trick with Pogba.

Despite what you might read about Woodward on here, he's as shrewed as they come and has spent a large part of his professional career negotiating and structuring finance deals. I wouldn't put a trick like this past him.

Doesn't that Tanc guy work for Sky Italia? He said a deal with Pogba was done. Now Sky Italia say he has no intentions of leaving Juve for us?

Why do posters take Balague so seriously? How does he know which club Pogba prefers? Is he his best mate?

Their's little risk to claiming Pogba wants to go to Real: how can he be proven wrong? If the player goes to Real, Balague was right all along. If he stays at Juventus, he's waiting for his move to Madrid. If he comes to Old Trafford, saying we were his first choice - well, he would say that, wouldn't he? Whatever happens, his reputation, such as it is, is intact.

It's really difficult for someone who isn't an out and out forward to justify the price tag. However if he goes onto become one of the best box to box with Lampardish output, it would be worth it. Personally I couldn't care less as long as he is successful forgetting the price of the transfer. Still don't believe it's happening but more positive than ever.

100m is my objection , because it's a temporary spend he'll most likely leave in 2-3 yrs , anleka redux , and for less than half.

He is just but hurt that for once it isn't Real blowing teams out the park with insane bids.

Balague is such an entitled cnut  You can just see him oozing with bitterness that we've outbid Madrid

Came across a similar way in the weeks and days leading up to Van Gaal getting sacked because he knew it meant Mourinho.

I see it as sent making. Proving we are the biggest cat on the block.

Ballbag is going to have trouble coming to terms with La Liga slipping from top spot.
The top managers are coming here, the small teams have mad spending power, players wages are going to be higher here.
This is before the over-seas rights hit the prem bank accounts.
Coupled with a more fair distribution of TV rights in Spain, and he sees the writing on the wall.

cnut!

ive been travelling today..currently in chicago..can someone tell me wtf is going on?
More bollocks to be honest mate. Everyone pushing him our way but we've seen how this story plays out. We need to wait and see after the Euros.

That's ridiculous too. Mata was worth 37m. De Bruyne was worth 55m. Pogba is easily 60-70m. The 30m over this is nuts but it's because he is only 23 - and we are willing to pay over the odds to serve our desperation for star quality.

Yeah nothing happening until at least Monday more likely next Thursday/Friday.

In terms of his quality £100m isn't huge to our club but £100m must be buckets and buckets loads to Juventus and their fans are up in arms. They must see something special about him for them to not want to sell. Plus every 'football expert', journalist, manager and player speak very highly of him. They can't all be wrong.

Just because something he reports doesn't happen doesn't mean he isn't credible a large percentage of the time. For all we know, all of these things he reported at one point was true. Maybe Alonso was going to stay but changed his mind for instance. Balague has called a lot of shit right too.

He's a gossip columnist and he doesn't try and hide that fact. Credibility doesn't really come into it. He deals in transfer rumours rather than celebrities' personal lives but the core function is still the same. He's not supposed to be a credible news reporter.

It's not worth insulting him over and potentially being banned. We just have to accept not everyone is going to be considerate of peoples feelings and move on. :)

I am personally effected by the disease with my father who suffers deeply with this illness, and dont think that those kind of comments should be socially acceptable or allowed on a respectable website. There was no insult.

Grow up you inconsiderate fool.
Not inconsiderate, just not going enter the condescending PC culture dystopia you are feeding, where everyone is offended by everything and people are too uptight to laugh at themselves. This isn't even the thread for it.
