€25m for his agent, fecking hell. That's absolutely sickening. Awful awful awful for football.
We missed out on Thiago, Hazard, Lucas Moura, and a few others, that have slipped my mind, in recent years because SAF wouldn't pay agent fees.
We either get with the program, or miss out on the elite players, its as simple as that.

I don't think there is anything insulting about being his 2nd preference vs a sunny and successful Madrid; we have to endure in the Europa League and our team is very much a work in progress And are having to pay inflated fee's and salary to compensate for that.

I think he's the closest clone Ive seen to a young Roy Keane (when we signed him). They are similar in every physical and technical aspect. We had to break the British transfer when we signed Keane, so its not surprising we have to do the same to sign Pogba.

Pogba will be a brand phenomenon for our marketing department and its likely we'll sell him for a profit in 3-4 years time, which will soften the business case.

I think its a done deal.

it's just the bitterness and dismissive manner in which he goes about it that irks some. He could be a little more subtle.

What is the record for most pages on a transfer saga on the cafe?

Was it the Thiago thread?

We can't be too far off the 'what page do you think it will be confirmed by?' question.

For what it's worth, I'm going 294.
That's a pretty optimistic prediction. With the rate this thread's moving at, that'll only take a couple of days.

I'll go 366.

Agent have been getting paid for ages. Obviously the bigger the deal the bigger the fee, but you have to question why he would have the financial details of what we would pay him. Only 2 people would know that and ballbag isn't one of them.

He will just say whatever to bump up the price to make it sound as expensive as possible so the club can justify why they aren't going for him and why a world star will not be in the Spanish league.

Fair enough. Pogba coming then do you think?

I think we've a very very good chance of signing him, and there's enough evidence to suggest we're willing to go all out. If Madrid interfere though, I think he's going there.

you are right. we still have yet to hear from Pogba's third cousin. The paps have yet to take photographs of his phone, and we've yet to zoom in on said photographs to discern the contents of his private texts. Then come the airport spottings. the secret medicals. the last minute Daily Fail clickbait that it's all off!!!! Then, it's back on!!! Then off!!!!

This is just the beginning.

This. And how Neymar hidden fee never been mentioned until the authorities started investigate the case. These shit writers just write thing that fit their own agenda and tickle whoever wants to hear their bs.

@Juventuz

I dont understand why you guys are so salty about Pogba possibly leaving for 120m euros. It is not like you need him to compete in Serie-A, which you basically have locked down before the season even starts. Furthermore he won't make a difference for you in the CL since tbf. you dont have a chance of winning that trophy anytime soon, Pogba or no Pogba.

for the 120m euros you can:

- buy 3-4 new quality players
- decide your own referees for atleast three seasons ahead
- probably buy the Serie A
- get all your players fresh "vitamin" shots
- get all your players complimentary Vespa's

It is a win-win situation. Done dealio, al spaghetti-o.

No I don't either, they should bite our hand off and laugh at us...again, laugh again at us for giving him to them for free, and laugh even harder when we come back four years later and give them £100 m for him, If the boot was on the other foot I'd think we were bonkers, and we probably are.

If Juve turn the offer down I hope we just walk away, and then we can laugh at them.

@sammsky1 Roy Keane is a good parallel? I don't get to see him much, but I've thought of him more like a Yaya Toure on amphetamines.

Is that a good example for those that don't get to watch many Juve matches?

We should challenge Juventuz to a game of something.

Madrid doesn't have a Wings restaurant does it. Advantage Mancs

Just because something he reports doesn't happen doesn't mean he isn't credible a large percentage of the time. For all we know, all of these things he reported at one point was true. Maybe Alonso was going to stay but changed his mind for instance. Balague has called a lot of shit right too.
Like us making a downpayment for Falcao in 2013? who then went to join Monaco.

He has said a lot of nonsense in the past.

Question for the 25% of fans who voted No on the poll.

Is it just because of the cost or do you not want him period? How low would the fee have to be before you would consider it a good signing?

There's nothing to say we didn't put an advanced fee for Falcao. These things are very common.

At this rate we'll need a meltdown thread for Juventuz

Raiola is getting his insane fee in order to insure that Pogba comes. He'll make it happen for that money.

Because of the price tag, id take him back for the 50m.

I think he's been over hyped over the last couple of seasons, the money quoted for him should be for an established world class player like bale or neymar.

Having said that i'd still be happy if we sign him, after all it's not my money, but i'd rather that money was spent on someone else.
