I dont think so. The thing is he doesnt post anything for posting sake or for rumor sake. He waits till the end, he gets as much info as he can and then tells everyone. That is why he is reliable.

I thought so as well. Can't recall him getting something wrong lately.

Usually spot on.

I thought Di Marzio was an ITK like Tancredi who couldn't be trusted, yet everyone seems to be treating his word as gospel over the last few weeks. Or does it depend on what he's got to say?
Tancredi is a piece of shit who is wanna be. He aint reliable at all.

Better make him sign a 7 year deal or something. Would be a pisstake if he walks out on a free in 5 years in his prime

Although the fee is crazy, and I can understand these sentiments, what WC midfielder could you get for €50m or even €70m? The best you could hope for really is a Martial type signing which could turn out great. But not an established WC player.

Most players as talented or as established as Pogba are already at big clubs that will never sell, and we're not all that enticing without CL footie and PL win in a few years.
this is why I am being sways , I cant think of any midfield that would fit the bill.

I dont think he meant the CDM position behind Pogba when he meant do we have the personnel "behind" Pogba.
Sorry for my bad English. I did mean, the CDM who will be behind Pogba to support him to do his magic (aka the Makelele behind Lampard).

People saying he will move away within three years... Who is going to pay the monstrous fee required to do that when we already paid 100 million pounds for him? We'd want at least a big profit as he will probably be more proven and a bigger name by then thanks to our commercial prowess and hopefully the success he has brought us.

I agree. There's nothing wrong with us flexing our financial muscle. No-one gives you a consolation prize for "Oh you came second, but you spent less than the champions did!". People seem to forget we have a very low wage to turnover ratio compared with other big clubs (Madrid/Barca etc.) and we're going into the most lucrative TV deal in football history. Big clubs in the EPL generally have to spend money. We don't have the luxury of clubs like Bayern and the Spanish teams of essentially raiding our neighbours on the cheap to boost our squad.

People saying its too much money...
Does Ronaldo not look like a steal now? Bale not as much, but noone ever brings up his transfer fee. Knowing what we know now, Neymar looks like a steal as well. As long as they're young, which Pohba is, we can expect to see at least 8 years of top-level performances. I don't get where this hesitation is coming from, especially in a market where 30 million pound offers for Troy Deeney and Ighalo of all people are being turned down.

Came in to post exactly this, the new tv deal has taken things to a new level and how many years ago did we sell Ronnie for what now appears to have been an absolute bargain, people need to wake up!

What are the odds of Pogba after the Euros saying "I'm going on holiday now for 2 weeks, I will discuss my future when I return back to Turin"?

HOW MUCH?!?!

Ah feck it. Not my money and he's definitely a special player who can be one of the top players in the world.

Will be very exciting if it happens!

This feels all too Di Maria to me

Well lets hope if we do sign Pogba that nobody breaks his conservatory windows late one night and forces him to flee the country to the much safer city of Paris where nothing bad ever happens and there are never any burglaries.

Mino is calling the shots. They either trust him or they leave him. That's how il re del calciomercato works

Yes, who in current ManUtd squad can be the hard man playing behind Pogba?
Right now, It has to be one from out those 4 mentioned above. You can add Fosu Mensah to that list too. Also, Mkhitaryan is capable of playing that position at the time of utmost need.

Pirlo played behind Pogba at Juve and it worked alright for them, he is not exactly a hard-man is he? More like a Carrick. Bastian is capable of playing the hardman, provided he can stay fit.

Carrick, Bastian, Blind and Schniederlin
I'm hoping Schniederlin can improve under Jose and be a regular starter playing in the role Matic played for Chelsea he was very good at southampton sure he can get back to it now that Louis has gone

Hope this doesnt drag on.. whichever way it goes, just be over soon...

In my understanding, during the Pirlo period, it was more like the energetic/dynamic duo of either Vidal, Pogba, Marchisio that were protecting master Pirlo.

Yes, he would be the one & he will improve for sure under Jose. Vangle did not give him enough consecutive starts to settle down in any kind of rhythm at all.

Scniederlin and Herrera both are full of energy to do exactly the same along with Pogba to provide the same cover for Bastian/Carrick. You can add Mkhitaryan to that list too, in case Jose wants to play him in the midfield.

Has anyone already said the "we're losing our identity" bit yet? Buying back our own player would give a new spin to it.

Anyway, would be delighted to see him coming here. Unless he turns to absolute dogshite (which I doubt he does), it's a great deal for us.

If he plays well, RM comes along and he forces a transfer, and what? In the search for another superstar, rebuild the team AGAIN?

That type of thinking seen us hire David Moyes, instead of Mourinho 3 years ago. So we should never sign top players in case Madrid want them in a few years?

It's not so easy for Real to come and just pluck players from United. Especially not now, look at DeGea. If the fee is £80-100m it will most likely be a 6 year contract bringing him up to 29. We were prepared to let De Gea run his contract down. If he comes he will spend his best years at United.

They are saying we already lost our identity, moral values & club ethos the moment we decided to sell our soul to the devil named Mourinho :smirk:

The ABU Brigade and the opposition fans always find a hammer to beat us with. At the end of the season it was : "none of the good players would join them". Now it is: "they are chucking away the club ethos & principals to get some success. Sign of desperation"

Why are we acting like this is a done deal, I haven't read or heard anything concrete in the media.

Am I missing something?

Well Dimarzio said yesterday we have an agreement with Pogba. Its just a case of negotiating with Juventus.

Be a fantastic signing; lots of money but I guess that's how football is going.

I still am not in the thinking we will actually sign him. I can just see Real pinching him from under our noses.

The king of ITK Journos Di Marzio is reporting that United have an agreement "in principle" with Pogba to join Us. We are going to bid 120m (euros) for him.

Also our resident ITK @Acquire Me has also confirmed that we are going balls-deep to get Pogba back & the interest is real.

But why are we treating Di Marzio's word as gospel? I often recall him having egg on his face a couple of times regarding a couple of his predictions, or am I thinking of someone else?

There isnt a journalist more reliable than him today. And everyone does get it wrong from time to time but he doesnt make mistakes as often as the other journalists do.

Mkhitaryan will be wide right or 10 I think can't see him playing any where else tbh also what do you have to do round here to get more than 3 posts a day on here ? the Caf is oppressing my muppetry and it's just not right :D

You are thinking about someone else (Tancredi maybe?), Di Marzio has been very accurate with his transfer info from the past two seasons.
