Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

I really dislike the "who cares, it's not my money" stance. Clearly, there are consequences on how it affects the rest of our spending. Not just this transfer period, but our short-term future as well. That being said, I'd be ecstatic if we landed Pogba. Btw, we dodged a bullet with Hazard.
Player of the season when Chelsea won the title and they could probably sell him for more than double the fee they paid for him. One bad season doesn't make him a bullet dodged

So in theory our strongest line up would be;

DDG

Shaw
Bailley
Smalling
Darmian

Schneiderlin
Schweinsteiger
Pogba

Mkhitaryan
Ibrahimovic
Martial

Think if it's PogbON we still go for Matuidi, especially if it is for €25m. Fellaini and Mata get sold.

I'm on holiday in Australia and last night I dreamt that I was friends with Pogba and was trying to convince him to come back and join us and he said yes:angel:, then this morning I wake up to read all the news. I did also dream a couple years ago that I was friends with Draxler and I convinced him not to join Arsenal (not even sure if he was actually linked to them but anyway;))

So I am now convinced and ladies and gentlemen we can all rest assured that this will happen:D

EDIT: and you're welcome btw
 ,maybe tonight you will dream about Messi

Use your powers on Fellaini.

Real Madrid didn't do badly with all those world record signings. You may be afraid of clubs asking high fee for certain players, but if we can be competitive with our signing. Then players would love to join us thus we can acquire Kroos, Modric, Bale... type (pay less than competitor) as sole buyer due to players force their way to us.

I think this would be an amazing line up at home. Ibrahimović playing in the hole behind all that pace. Rooney on the bench being the tastiest part of that line up

You are gravely mistaken, if you think Neymar is player capable of winning championships on his own. Take Messi, Suarez & Iniesta out of that Barca team and Neymar would not look half as good. Neymar does not have the mentality to grind it out when the going gets tough.
Wow....

Messi was out for almost 3 months this season gone, ask anyone who watches Barca who was the best player in that period. Do you ever watch Neymar for Brazil?

Would have accomplished feck all under Moyes and LVG.
Martial performed under LVG so not sure how you can he certain Hazard wouldn't be able too

Plus I don't see how this makes him a bullet dodged when it's obvious he was worth what Chelsea paid

The only reason I can't see this happening is if Juve decide they don't want to sell as he is too precious to them, although we have already agreed a deal with Pogba, so if we didn't think they would sell why would we agree a deal already?

Has Mino ever failed to complete a deal for his client? I didnt even think Dortmund would sell us Micki.

That guy is incredible at what he does.

Di Marzio is solid, but I won't truly believe it until we hear from Craig the photographer

Lukkaku doesn't seem to be getting a move away from Everton like he wants

I'm holding out for Steve the decorator.

It's actually funny how sometimes people can know about deals so early on, a friend of mine his dad used to work fitting automatic lights that came on at certain times when abroad.

He was doing an installation at Rooneys parents house I believe in 2004, he asked them Rooney to United? they said it was a done deal, pretty much months before the announcement.

People know about the Pogba deal surely out of agents.

Norwood obviously club photographer but Pogba will be a painful transfer because the Marketing department will be going nuts over it.

That's because no one is going to pay what Everton are looking for. At least with Mkhitaryan we offered close to what Dortmund wanted after they decided they would sell him and Juventus is supposedly going to be offered 100m.

I would pay max 50mill for him, hes not a game changer or match winner, but at he same time I don believe any of the rumours, all lies , like the multiple other players we were linked with , all saying contract was done, and nothing even happened

I mean what the hell does agreement in principle mean, and who knows this, and reported it

Whether you like it or not, 50 million GBP buys you an 19 year old Raheem Sterling or an untested Martial these days. The amount of money elite clubs are earning way exceed transfer inflation, so these sorts of fee's will continue until revenues start to decrease.

Beyond Messi and Ronaldo, Neymar, Pogba and Bale are the 3 players set to fight it out for BPITW. And so to acquire any will require you to break the world transfer record.

We are one of the top revenue generating and profitable clubs in world football: Ive been frustrated for years watching Barcelona, Madrid and Manchester City pay market rates for top shelf talent whilst we have fuddled around in the upper middle of the market.

Appointing Jose Mourinho was a statement that the club wanted to acquire the best employee for every position in the club. It costs what it costs.

Mourinho's first task is to get back to the top of the tree. Once he has done that, and gained confidence and momentum, he can start to phase through club youth players.

Looks like people were spot on suggesting 4th target = Pogba.

Just the way Jose spoke, you could tell it wasn't that mexican youth player or Matuidi. This however doesn't mean we'll end up with pogba of course

Di Marzio rumour about a Juve player = BBC level rumour.

Who cares, it's not our money.

If we paid Hazard's agent the fees he wanted, he'd probably be a United player now.

What gave you the impression i care how much United spend?

I'm wondering why we are reportedly playing an agent around £20m.

Wow....

Messi was out for almost 3 months this season gone, ask anyone who watches Barca who was the best player in that period. Do you ever watch Neymar for Brazil?
He had Suarez, Iniesta and Rakitic to play with.

Brazil are a shambles of a team. He is their star man but he is not carrying them to glory.

Still too good to be true.

Also, i may have missed it, but the majority of this DiMarzio link is coming from other journo's on his website? not directly from DiMarzio?

Dont mistake other journos using the business name for Gianluca himself. He himself hasnt said much more than United may be preparing a bid unless i missed something?

Check the Italian version of his website. It's his doing. The English version is someone else translate and manage for him.

He was player of the year in 14/15, he terrorises defences on a regular basis... I sincerely doubt it.

Just leaving this here

Look usually I'm one of those I don't care, it's not my money. But 100 million sounds a lot.

When his contract is up, it won't be.

Think of it as a "play in rainy Manchester" + "play with no Champions League" tax. I mean that's what it really comes down to.

PAY IT.

I can't understand people who complain that it is too much money, like it's coming from our pockets. I don't care whether it is 100 mil or 500 mil, it is all coming from the massive money generating machine and we as fans shouldn't care about it. I want the club to spend as much as possible on players for us fans to enjoy rather than stream the money towards other interests.

I'd rather spend money on players than it being taken out the club by the owners.

Also, what if we don't get CL football next season? The adidas penalty kicks in. All these signings are no guarantees but still ...

Sometimes you got to spend money to make money.

Sorry guys but as a Juve fan I still find all this hilarious!
And I'm a bit shocked that some of you are already discussing about his shirt number!

Last year he was a Barca player, a month ago Di Marzio talked for days about him to Real... now it's your turn!

Same exact story every year and then he always stays. :D

As I often said here on RedCafe, I believe that the same will happen this summer, for the simple fact that Paul is happy at Juve (today he tweeted about the "cool" new away jersey, a few days ago he thanked Juve on Instagram after they wished him good luck for the France game... to be honest I doubt that a player with the intention to leave would do this, I guess he would just stay silent and wait...)

We'll see if I will be right or wrong. :)
If he really leaves I will say sorry. :D

Good night everyone. :)

Maybe.

But...
His agent manages both players Manchester has signed just this week.
He's been offered a higher salary AND the fee offered shows him that Manchester wants him badly.
He has a LONG history with Manchester. A longer history than he has with Juve.

If he stays in Italy, good for him. It'll be because he wanted to.

As long as it ain't Barca or Madrid...I'm ok.
If the Reds aren't giving Juve 100 million, which can be spent on two other players instead of just one...I'm ok.

When Benteke is still worth £30m after doing feck all last season, how can anyone complain about £100m for Pogba?

People saying £50m max, or thinking anyone could ever get Verrati for £60m are completely niave to modern football prices, for better or for worse.

If we do sign him for the said 100m does United make good money on his brand? I am assuming all shirt sales go to Adidas what goes to United?

Trophies, swagger, sponsorships and global interest by fans.

When you see "Beautiful team goal, exchange between Zlatan and Pogba" It'll be United,

It won't always be Wow that goal by Messi! and then looking at united like, what has happened.

Looks good.

I'm watching this video and the ONE thing that really jumps at you is Wayne Rooney. What a difference. What a tremendous difference in terms of movement. Wow. The present incarnation is not even close to what he once was. Legs gone. Sad.
