Paul Pogba / turned down United offer of 300k as “nothing”

If he wants to go on a free then Ole must keep him on the sidelines for the entire season and win the premier league.

Camavinga, Sancho, Varane to replace Pogba in the squad is basically upgrade of the squad. On top of that we are giving VDB more minutes to play means VDB can almost be like a new signing this summer.

We need 2 midfielders if Pogba leaves

After years of asking what is Pogba's best position, now we can ask the same about VDB

Sell him and sign a proper attacker like Grealish. Use Lingard to help fund a midfielder.

At the start of the window I wanted Grealish, Sancho and Phillips to be part funded by selling Pogba, Martial and Lingard, this most likely won’t happen but if it does we will be tasty.

If Raiola wants a monster contract/agent fee for Pogba even remotely close to the numbers quoted (no clue who that guy is though), the only way it happens is via a free transfer.

If that's what he wants PSG will wait until next summer. They're not gonna pay that contract and a transfer fee on top of it.

Also, shouldn't the two Pogba threads be merged? They're both discussing the same stuff.

Agreed.

Or we're stupid enough to give him that. FFS.

All sounds quite logical and realistic but who the hell is Paddy Keogh.

how is any of that request logical or realistic??? there's nothing logical about it all and realistic only if we're fuking idiots

? Calm down sugar puff. It's logical and realistic for him and his agent to be that greedy, because obviously. Did I say we should bow down to those demands?

Still don't see how it's realistic for him to get 30m just for an agency fee nor how that is logical?

Is it logical and realistic that this will be his last big pay day, yes no doubt. Not nearly at those figures being mentioned though as that would kill the budget and wage structure.

If you don't get what I mean after this post, I'm not bothering with you anymore. His agent is a greedy bastard, him wanting that sort of daft money is realistic, because it's him. I was talking about how the info could be real or not far off due to how money hungry we know the bloke is, but who the feck is the weapon making the tweet. Night night.

I'll repeat what I said in the Transfer Tweet thread regarding this ridiculous tweet.

----

It astounds me that people are believing that Keogh tweet.

No one has heard of the guy and yet we have people on here falling for it hook line and sinker.

Go back 12months exchange the word Pogba for Sancho and that Tweet would be laughed off the thread and rightfully so.

Ridiculous that people here are believing it.

That depends on the market for a player like Pogba. There are not many teams who can provide the salary and the profile that Pogba would demand.

The same can be said about Varane whose less of a star then Pogba is.

Yeah, if we don't get a good offer, I guess we could just let him play out his contract. 50 million is probably where it will end up and I would take that in a heartbeat.

I hope that we do find viable buyers. We can't afford letting Pogba leave on free twice.

I know we’re usually pretty dopey when it comes to handing out contracts but I’m pretty sure there’s no god dang way United are paying that for a guy who more often than not just half arses his way through games

The source may not be the best and I wouldn't bank on the details being 100% accurate but Raiola already has form for this, and lesser players than Pogba have already done it this summer.

If Pogba doesn't leave this summer the intention will definitely be to extort as much as possible from the highest bidder next summer.

Van de Beek is not often considered as an option. Understandable considering he had very very poor season, but also the games where he actually played well he was a central midfielder. I still think he has a role to play.

The tweet above is obviously just the usual guesswork nonsense. But does anyone really believe that Raiola won't want a huge fee and to make Pogba comfortably our highest earner for him to stay?

The best outcome for us would be to get a decent fee from PSG this summer, otherwise I'm pretty sure he'll leave for nothing.

Letting him leave on a free is not the disaster some here on the Caf think.

Having him play one more season is not bad. I’m not the biggest Pogba fan by any stretch, but he has his uses. Furthermore, when he leaves, we’ll have more budget for wages and could potentially replace him with someone coming in on a free. That wage slot looks pretty tempting for a player like Haaland.

I think the chances he moves to PSG or anywhere else this summer is pretty remote.

We should try to sell him now rather than let him go for free. He obviously wants out so just let him go. If it’s PSG then great as they wont have tight pursestrings like Real will.

I won’t dispute his ability at all. It’s just how often it comes. One minute he puts in the throughball of the season. Next minute he does a weary wayward pass to the opposition who score from it.

The downside is we have to buy two central midfielders now, so it’s going to be Camavinga and someone else ideally (Rice with the Pogba money going towards it?). The McFred combo is only super effective in a small handful of games in our typical season and a bit of a hinderance in most games.

I think a big benefactor of Pogba leaving will be VDB, who surely has more to offer than what we saw last season. If OGS is targeting box to box midfielders rather than a pure defensive midfielder, then VDB and Camavinga would fit that bill.

Well there is no doubt Pogba is talented and I wouldn't be upset if he signed an extension at a reasonable wage.

Now its emerging if true that he wants mega money and his agent wants a massive fee I say we sell him. Reinvest the money in someone who suits our system.

Going by Pogbas stats last season I think we could find someone better and who wants a normal wage, you can't give someone 400 grand a week for maybe 10 goals a season and who gives away silly penalties.
Lots may not agree, that's ok. Very talented player but Utd have to make a stand about wages.

Surely Pogba pays Raiola the 30m? I mean why the feck would we pay him that? Something has to be done about these agents fees they're ruining the game

I'd be shocked if United were to let him leave for nothing. He was our record transfer after all, the optics of losing him for nothing would be pretty bad.

Selling him this summer is the only real choice here. I don't take the tweet above seriously, but we all know the only way Pogba signs a new deal is for ridiculous money.

Of course.
Instead of a club having to boot 40-50m out, they can pour most of that straight into his pocket.

We'd have had 6 years of him for that money though, at least.

I'm not sure we've learnt the lessons of Rooney, De Gea, Jonesy etc, so I can see us announcing some insane 5-6 year deal soon.

that's the thing now though just look at the number of free transfers this summer.

Just look at this list of top players who have contracts expiring next summer in 2022. The list is staggering and it's some top top players like Mbappe.
